Chapter 107: Chen Jian’s Inscription, Eternal Love
Bibi Dong disappeared?
Hearing this news, Ye Tian fell into deep thought.
In his impression, Bibi Dong was unquestionably a diligent and committed Pope. For decades, she had worked tirelessly and would not vanish for no reason.
Could she have secluded herself in a secret chamber to inherit a divine position?
Shortly after, he shook his head, dismissing this possibility.
That shouldn't be the case. At this point in time, Bibi Dong likely hadn't considered inheriting the Rakshasa God's position yet. After all, the Rakshasa God's position was not a benevolent one, and inheriting it required an enormous sacrifice.
The continent's current state of affairs, although tense, had not reached a life-and-death crisis. Thus, Bibi Dong wouldn't have developed the resolve to preemptively inherit the Rakshasa God's position.
"Have you found any further clues?" Ye Tian asked.
The intelligence agents replied, "It's not just Pope Bibi Dong who has gone missing; even her disciple Hu Liena is nowhere to be found."
"Moreover, the friction between the Elder Hall and the Pope Hall seems to have intensified. Golden Crocodile Douluo, the Second Worshipper, has dispatched several people to supervise the subordinate administrative bodies of the Pope Hall."
Hearing this, Ye Tian chuckled lightly and waved dismissively, saying, "This is nothing more than a tradition of the Spirit Hall."
Everyone knew that the Elder Hall of the Spirit Hall wielded overwhelming power. If Bibi Dong didn't have her daughter Qian Renxue, she might not have even secured the position of Pope.
Faced with the disappearance of Bibi Dong and Hu Liena, Ye Tian, although puzzled, did not see it as a good omen.
Since it wasn't something he could understand, there was no need to dwell on it—especially since it had nothing to do with him.
"I understand," Ye Tian said, motioning for the two agents to leave.
The two intelligence agents bowed respectfully, saluted, and exited Butterfly Valley.
Ye Tian pondered for a moment and looked up at Chen Jian.
"By the way, Old Chen, how are the preparations for relocating the island coming along?"
Ye Tian had been mulling over this matter for more than a month, and work on it was ongoing.
Chen Jian patted his chest confidently and assured, "Young Master, rest easy. The Heavenly Strategy Army has dispatched 500 men, traveling by warship to Pearl Island.
"We've also spoken with Purple Pearl, and she's agreed to designate a large estate on the flat land south of Pearl Island as a gift to you."
"Good. After my wedding, we'll move there." Ye Tian nodded lightly.
"Huh? Young Master, are you really leaving the mainland?" Chen Jian was taken aback, clearly surprised.
Until now, he had assumed Ye Tian's talk of relocating was just lip service.
Given Ye Tian's capabilities, even if he didn't directly confront the Spirit Hall or the two great empires, he could at least rival the upper three sects. Even if he avoided involvement in the continent's conflicts, self-preservation wouldn't be an issue.
There was no real need to retreat to a remote island to escape the chaos of war.
"Better to avoid unnecessary trouble," Ye Tian said with a faint smile, explaining, "Rather than staying on the East Sea and risking the effects of conflict, it's better to live peacefully on an island."
"I understand," Chen Jian said, nodding in agreement.
Since this was the young master's decision, as a subordinate, he would obey.
One had to admit that Ye Tian was exceedingly cautious and pragmatic, never recklessly putting himself in danger.
This quality was admirable, though it might lack a touch of bold ambition.
Calculating the time, Ye Tian estimated that Hu Liena and the others had likely finished trying on their outfits.
He stepped into Butterfly Valley and approached the fitting room.
Outside, he saw Hu Liena and his elder sister looking around expectantly.
Hu Liena was holding a pure white, body-hugging wedding gown, her chest gracefully accentuated.
Bibi Dong, on the other hand, wore a purple evening dress, appearing like a celestial maiden who had descended into the mortal world.
The two women's current appearances captivated all the surrounding staff, drawing their astonished gazes.
One after another, they murmured in admiration, thinking even the fairies in the heavens couldn't compare.
It wasn't until Ye Tian arrived that the staff reluctantly resumed their work, discreetly pulling their eyes away.
Hu Liena's pretty face was full of curiosity as she asked, "Ye Tian, where did you go? My teacher and I have been waiting for quite a while."
"I was handling some business matters," Ye Tian replied with a smile. "But I'm here now, aren't I?"
Ye Tian walked over to Hu Liena and examined her closely, causing her cheeks to flush.
She whispered shyly, "Do I... look good?"
"Absolutely stunning." Ye Tian leaned in close, wrapping an arm around her waist and whispering in her ear.
Feeling the warmth of his breath, Hu Liena's blush deepened, spreading to her ears.
"W-We're in public!" she stammered.
"Seems like I'm interrupting something here," Bibi Dong said with a chuckle, covering her mouth.
She couldn't help but think that Ye Tian and Hu Liena were a perfect match, their relationship radiating sweetness.
For a brief moment, she felt a twinge of envy. This kind of love—so sweet it hurt—was something she had never experienced in her own turbulent life.
Of course, it was only a fleeting envy. As the Pope, she had long since put such matters behind her.
Love was nothing more than a youthful illusion.
"Elder sister, you jest," Ye Tian said calmly, removing his hand from Hu Liena without a hint of awkwardness. He even turned the conversation back on her.
"You're older than me, elder sister. I'm about to get married—shouldn't you hurry and find yourself a husband?"
Hu Liena blinked mischievously, her eyes sparkling with laughter. "Exactly, Teacher! You'd better work on that!"
Bibi Dong gave Hu Liena a calm yet sharp glance. "I'm not in a hurry," she replied indifferently.
At that moment, a staff member hurried over to Chen Jian and asked, "Mr. Chen, the screen plaque has arrived. Where should we place it?"
"Screen plaque? What's that?" Hu Liena asked, tilting her head curiously.
Chen Jian smiled as he explained, "A screen plaque is a large red sheet of paper. According to the customs here in East Sea City, during weddings, respected elders and guests write inscriptions on it. It symbolizes gathering the blessings of heaven and earth to bring good fortune to the newlyweds."
"So that's it. What a fascinating tradition!" Hu Liena exclaimed with delight.
"If we held the wedding in Spirit City, I wouldn't have the chance to experience such unique customs," she said, smiling at Ye Tian.
"Don't forget my fish," she added teasingly.
"Of course not," Ye Tian replied with a light wave of his hand. "That's one thing I'll never forget."
"Tonight, I'll go fishing for you."
"Don't go at night," Hu Liena said with concern. "What if you fall into the water?"
"Can't you say something nicer?" Ye Tian replied, feigning exasperation.
"Is it wrong to care about you?" Hu Liena huffed.
Chen Jian, meanwhile, retrieved a brush from his storage space and glanced at the screen plaque nearby.
With a chuckle, he turned to Ye Tian and said, "If I may be so bold, I'd like to be the first to write on your wedding screen plaque."
"Old Chen, there's no need for such formality," Ye Tian replied warmly. "You're like a senior to me—it's only fitting for you to do the honors."
After all, apart from his elder sister, Ye Tian had no other close family. Having Chen Jian write the first inscription was entirely appropriate.
Everyone followed Chen Jian to the screen plaque.
After a moment of contemplation, Chen Jian smiled and said, "Young Master, you and Miss Hu Liena are a match made in heaven. A couple like you should have a love that lasts forever."
"So, I'll write 'Eternal Love.'"
