Summoning Pokémon in Naruto

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Dinner at The Hokage's House

"Who are you?"

Uchiha Hayato didn't recognize the person in front of him.

"My name is Sarutobi Hideki. The Third Hokage is my father," the boy said with a gentle smile. "Don't tell anyone else, though. I've never mentioned this to anyone before."

He sniffed the air, as if catching the scent of curry. "Ah, so you've already eaten."

"Yes, I have does the Third Hokage need something from me?" Hayato asked, confused.

"It doesn't matter if you've eaten. My father just wants to chat with you," Hideki said with a chuckle. "There's no need to feel nervous. He was casual about it, like when he used to invite Nawaki over. Oh, Nawaki is my friend by the way."

"And who's this?" Kushina asked irritably as she followed Hayato out. She had been planning to use Pokémon as an excuse to get closer to Hayato, only for an uninvited guest to disrupt her plans.

"Aren't you the one…"

"Kushina-san," Hideki said with a wry smile.

"Alright, everyone, let's call it a day. We'll meet again tomorrow," Hayato said. Since it was an invitation from the Hokage, he had no reason to refuse. Ever since revealing his Pokémon, he had known the higher-ups in Konoha would eventually reach out to him. He handed an instant messenger to Kushina.

Konoha Center, Hokage Residence

Sarutobi Hiruzen examined the reports submitted by the Anbu, along with a handwritten letter from Uchiha Setsuna.

The letter's tone was sincere and composed, surprising Hiruzen, who knew Setsuna's personality well.

The letter stated that if Uchiha Hayato became a candidate for the future Hokage, the Uchiha clan would fully support Hiruzen's decisions during his tenure as the Third Hokage.

Hiruzen chuckled. "How cunning, Setsuna. Isn't the Uchiha clan already a part of Konoha? Offering such terms for a deal he found it quit laughable?"

Still, if Hayato's abilities could be fully utilized, the possibility of him becoming the Fifth Hokage wasn't out of the question. As for the Fourth Hokage, several of Hiruzen's students were strong contenders.

"Father, I brought Hayato," Hideki announced.

Hiruzen looked up and saw the boy he had recently met again. He nodded; Hayato matched the reports. Since awakening his Sharingan, his strength had increased significantly, and he lacked the arrogance typical of other Uchiha.

"Hayato, we meet again," Hiruzen said warmly, showing none of the Hokage's usual sternness. "How is Dekai doing?"

"Good evening, Hokage-sama," Hayato replied calmly. "Dekai has changed a lot since we first met. At least he no longer bullies others."

Hayato's probing gaze rested on Hiruzen. "Did you call me here just to ask about Dekai?"

"Hey, Biwako how long till the food is served" Hiruzen called into the house.

A middle-aged woman peeked out. "What's the rush? If you're in such a hurry, cook it yourself."

"Every ninja starts their journey in school. For Konoha's future, I have to pay attention to the next generation," Hiruzen explained to Hayato, laughing off his wife Biwako's scolding.

"Kids like Dekai can't help their behavior. They're either orphans or have parents away on missions for long periods. If the teachers don't manage them properly, these issues arise," Hiruzen sighed. "I must thank you for helping to discipline them. If it had been Yohei…"

Hiruzen snorted, clearly displeased with Hayato's school teacher.

He considered Kushina, the future jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails. She needed to genuinely love Konoha. If the jinchūriki harbored hatred for the village, the consequences were unimaginable. Hiruzen shuddered at the thought.

Thankfully, Hayato's involvement had helped. Still, as Hokage, Hiruzen couldn't ignore the implications of the Uchiha clan growing closer to the future jinchūriki.

"Hayato, you can call me 'Uncle,' like Nawaki does," Hiruzen suggested cautiously. "By the way, how's your… Pokémon?"

[T/N: Don't know what to replace uncle with.]

Hiruzen treated Hayato as an equal. Though young, Hayato's intellect and maturity far exceeded his peers.

"Uncle, are you talking about Blaze?" Hayato said smoothly, releasing Chimchar from its Poké Ball.

"Chim?"

Chimchar's large eyes blinked in confusion, unsure of its surroundings. When it spotted Hayato behind it, it leaped joyfully into his arms.

"Chim-chim!"

Hideki's eyes flashed with envy. Compared to the Sarutobi clan's traditional summoning monkeys, Chimchar's appearance was far more appealing.

"Hayato, may I examine your Pokémon?" Hiruzen asked, his voice trembling slightly. If the Anbu's reports were true, this could redefine Sage Mode, no longer exclusive to the Three Great Lands.

"As long as Blaze isn't harmed," Hayato agreed. He had anticipated this scenario since revealing Blaze. As long as Konoha avoided inhumane experiments, it was within his acceptable boundaries.

[T/N: Don't know what to say about that.]

Hiruzen placed his hand on Chimchar's paw and sent his chakra inward.

It's natural energy!

Hiruzen's hand trembled slightly. This energy wasn't chakra—it could only be natural energy. Otherwise, how could these creatures perform such strange abilities beyond what ordinary beasts could?

"Uncle, I assume the Anbu have conveyed my thoughts. I'll be straightforward," Hayato said. "I want a peaceful life. But in the ninja world, nothing is possible without power."

Hiruzen felt a twinge of embarrassment. The boy had clearly noticed the Anbu surveillance and was candid about it.

"Hayato, what do you want from Konoha, and what are you willing to offer?" Hiruzen asked, his tone shifting to that of the Hokage.

"Hokage-sama, I only ask that neither I nor my friends face threats in Konoha. As for what I can offer, beyond Pokémon, there's also this," Hayato said taking a strange device with a smile.

"Hello, this is Hayato speaking Kushina, can you hear me?"

"Huh? This machine is making noises… Hayato? Is that you?" Kushina's face appeared on the screen, her eyes wide.

"It's just progress in technology," Hayato said with a smile, watching as Hiruzen's jaw dropped in shock.

[T/N: Great idea show a device with Origins unknown.]
