SCP: A TRUE ANOMALY

Chapter 28: Without options

Minutes, then hours, and then days. Time passed, and the only thing SCP-9743 shown to be doing, was standing still in the same position, sitting, with a grip on his knees, with his legs in V, and sitting on the bed.

SCP-9743 even rejected food when was delivered time ago, as it instantly made the guard have blue aura, and shock them against the wall outside the chamber, and then, using the same blue aura, now on the door, SCP-9743 himself used his magic to close the door.

It was tried to call his attention by other way, bringing a D-class, but the moment SCP-9743 saw the D-class, it used his magic again to make the D-class have a blue aura and then grabbing them by the neck.

SCP-9743: "... CRIME?..."

The D-class at first shown pure fear and terror, but after SCP-9743 continued to force the D-class to tell him, SCP-9743's expression didn't change at all.

SCP-9743: "... Irrelevant... You're not worth of my time..."

Then, SCP-9743 throws aside the D-class, and from a sudden, multiple bones rush from the ground, piercing through the D-class, killing it instantly.

SCP-9743: "... Your soul isn't even worth it..."

Time continued passing, and SCP-9743 demonstrated a deep desolated depressive state, mixed with fury. SCP-9743 passed the time not doing nothing else, than staying in the same position, with the same expression, rejecting to eat, and everything.

Once, a guard attempted to remind SCP-9743 about SCP-105, by bringing him her camera. SCP-9743 instantly killed the guard by making a sharp bone appear and pierce through it's skull, and then used his magic to make the camera have a blue aura and float to him, and then, he grabbed the camera.

SCP-9743: "DON'T... YOU DARE... TOUCHING IT!..."

Time continued to pass, days as if were hours, even a week or two passed, and yet, SCP-9743 rejected everything and everyone without mercy, and remained the same.

SCP-131-A and SCP-131-B got instantly rejected, and SCP-9743 gave the comment about them of being disgusting weird eyes.

SCP-999 got instantly rejected too, this time the comment was about how slimes are disgusting, and a strange copy of a food.

Other SCPs were brought for second interaction to see if something different happens, as SCP-085 and SCP-529. Both also failed inmediately.

SCP-085 got instantly rejected, as also received hard critics and direct hits of reality from SCP-9743, and got out of his containment before he could burn SCP-085 to neutralize her.

SCP-529 was almost instantly killed, and SCP-9743 commented that he was just putting the half cat out of it's misery as for sure was suffering from being only half with it's body half open and not existing.

Incident Report: SCP-9743's Prolonged Desolation and Behavioral Patterns Post-Breach Overview

SCP-9743 has entered a state of profound psychological and emotional collapse following the events of the recent breach and the death of SCP-105. Over an extended period of weeks, SCP-9743 has shown little deviation from a rigid routine of sitting motionless on his bed, gripping his knees in a hunched position, his expression locked in desolation. Attempts to engage him, either through personnel or interaction with other SCPs, have been met with violence, rejection, or outright hostility.

Timeline of Events

Initial Days

SCP-9743 completely rejects all forms of external interaction. When food is delivered, SCP-9743 uses his magic to force the delivering guard against the wall and close the chamber door. He demonstrates no interest in sustaining himself, showing active aggression toward any effort to assist or communicate.

Attempted Engagement with a D-Class

A D-Class personnel was sent into SCP-9743's containment chamber to elicit a response.

SCP-9743 immediately subdued the D-Class with his blue aura magic, grabbing them by the neck.

After a brief interrogation where SCP-9743 demanded to know the D-Class's crime, he dismissed their answer as "irrelevant" and deemed them unworthy of his attention.

SCP-9743 then executed the D-Class by summoning a series of sharp bones from the ground to pierce the individual. He left their corpse in the chamber, stating:

"... Your soul isn't even worth it..."

Guard Interaction and the Camera Incident

A guard attempted to engage SCP-9743 by presenting him with SCP-105's camera, which SCP-9743 had previously held onto during the breach.

SCP-9743 instantly killed the guard by summoning a sharp bone to pierce their skull.

He then used his magic to levitate the camera to himself and held it with extreme possessiveness, delivering the chilling warning:

"DON'T... YOU DARE... TOUCHING IT!..."

SCP-9743 displayed no further aggression but returned to his static, unmoving state after the incident, gripping the camera as if it were his last tether to reality.

Repeated Attempts with Other SCPs

Over the weeks, various SCPs were introduced into SCP-9743's chamber to encourage engagement or to measure his response. All attempts failed, escalating the severity of his reactions.

SCP-131-A and SCP-131-B (The "Eye Pods")

SCP-9743 outright rejected the two entities, referring to them as:

"Disgusting weird eyes."

SCP-9743 made no move to harm them but quickly forced them out of his containment chamber.

SCP-999 ("The Tickle Monster")

SCP-999 was met with even harsher rejection. SCP-9743 openly expressed disgust, stating:

"Slimes are disgusting. A strange copy of a food."

SCP-999 was quickly removed to avoid further escalation.

SCP-085 ("Cassy")

SCP-085 was introduced to SCP-9743, but her presence only elicited a harsh verbal response.

SCP-9743 delivered a scathing critique of her existence as a two-dimensional entity, pointing out the futility of her form and drawing direct comparisons to the fragility of paper. Before SCP-9743 could act further, SCP-085 was safely removed from the chamber by guards, narrowly escaping potential harm.

SCP-529 ("Josie the Half-Cat")

SCP-529 was introduced to SCP-9743 but immediately provoked his ire.

SCP-9743 attempted to summon a bone to pierce SCP-529. However, SCP-529 deflected the attack using her forelimbs and quickly retreated. Guards successfully removed SCP-529 before SCP-9743 could escalate further. SCP-9743's only comment on SCP-529 was:

"...Just putting the half-cat out of its misery... For sure it was suffering from being only half with its body half-open and not existing..."

Behavioral Analysis

1. Persistent Desolation

SCP-9743 exhibits a deeply depressive state, remaining in the same physical position for weeks without eating, sleeping, or engaging in typical activities. This desolation is coupled with a notable increase in hostility toward all external stimuli.

2. Emotional Fragility and Attachment

SCP-9743's possessive reaction to SCP-105's camera demonstrates his emotional dependence on it as a symbolic connection to SCP-105. The camera has become a token of his grief, and any perceived threat to it is met with immediate and lethal violence.

3. Rejection of Connection

All attempts to introduce SCPs or personnel into SCP-9743's environment have resulted in outright rejection or lethal aggression. SCP-9743 has consistently displayed disdain for SCPs he perceives as "weak" or "pointless," reflecting his growing detachment and intolerance for interaction.

4. Increasing Lethality and Unpredictability

SCP-9743's executions of both personnel and SCPs highlight his unpredictability. His actions appear driven by both emotional instability and a deep-seated fury at the Foundation for its perceived failures.

Potential Implications

SCP-9743's current state represents a critical danger to the Foundation:

Unwillingness to Cooperate: SCP-9743's refusal to engage with personnel or SCPs significantly hampers efforts to understand or contain him effectively.

Uncontrollable Violence: His readiness to execute personnel and SCPs alike underscores the need for extreme caution in future interactions.

Potential for a Second Breach: If SCP-9743's desolation transforms into active rage, another containment breach could occur, potentially more catastrophic than the last.

Recommendations for Future Action

Cease Direct Interactions:

Further attempts to engage SCP-9743 with SCPs or personnel should be halted to prevent additional casualties.

Leverage Symbolic Connections:

SCP-105's camera remains the only tangible object SCP-9743 has shown attachment to. Developing a plan around this object—perhaps presenting it in a manner that encourages dialogue rather than aggression—could provide a path forward.

Monitor for Escalation:

Continuous surveillance is crucial to detect any behavioral shifts that may indicate SCP-9743's desolation is transforming into active aggression or an attempt to breach containment.

Develop Psychological Countermeasures:

Consulting experts in anomalous psychology may provide insights into strategies for engaging SCP-9743 without triggering violent outbursts.

Prepare Contingency Plans:

Given SCP-9743's lethality and unpredictability, plans for an immediate response to another containment breach should be refined and expanded.

Dr. Sophia Adler closes her analysis with the following observation:

"SCP-9743's current state is a devastating reminder of the fragility behind his immense power. His grief and anger toward the Foundation have rendered him more dangerous than ever before. If left unchecked, his despair may consume him entirely, leaving the Foundation to deal with the consequences of a being with nothing left to lose."
