Chapter 2: Champion Level Gible
A massive hole shattered the roof of the base, and a white-and-purple humanoid Pokémon ascended into the sky.
Suspended in mid-air, its cold, piercing eyes opened, exuding an unmatched arrogance. An invisible pressure swept over the area, instantly paralyzing the patrol's Pokémon.
One by one, they collapsed, trembling on the ground, letting out weak, pitiful whimpers.
Adrian stood frozen in place, his eyes wide with shock. His heart pounded wildly in his chest, and he felt a surge of adrenaline as blood rushed to his head.
He had just witnessed the impossible.
It's actually Mewtwo.
But before Adrian could fully process his excitement, the base's defence systems activated.
From the walls surrounding the building, dozens of strange machines emerged. Black disc-like devices were embedded at their bases, each one rising abruptly and locking onto Mewtwo with sharp precision.
Adrian's heart tightened for a moment.
Mewtwo's expression remained unchanged, exuding a strange sense of calm.
However, if someone were to get closer—within a meter—they would notice a deeper truth. Beneath its composed exterior lay a flicker of pain and confusion in its eyes, as though it were suppressing something profound.
Despite this, Mewtwo's movements remained precise and unaffected.
It raised its arm, aiming one hand at the oncoming surge of electricity. In an instant, an immensely powerful blue light began to condense in its palm.
**Boom!**
The Psychic energy shot forward like a cannonball, colliding head-on with the giant pillar of electricity.
The clash of power was intense, the current and Psychic pushing against each other with equal force, creating visible ripples in the air.
As the beams collided, the experimental base, already on the verge of collapse, began to shake violently.
Centred around Mewtwo, cracks spread from the foundation all the way to the top floor, threatening to bring the entire structure down.
As the aftermath of the collision swept through, the entire building was reduced to dust, vanishing as if it had never existed.
Adrian, caught in the blast, was knocked unconscious.
Minutes later, he groggily regained consciousness, the sound of violent rumbling in his ears.
When he opened his eyes, the once mighty experimental area was nothing more than a crumbled ruin. The grandeur it once held was gone, replaced by devastation.
Mewtwo was nowhere to be found.
Adrian didn't hesitate. Ignoring the twisted figures of people around him—some unconscious, others possibly dead—he headed in one direction.
Having gained the power of Viridian, Adrian could now hear the hearts of Pokémon.
And through the silent forest, he sensed a deep, agonizing pain emanating from somewhere within.
Adrian walked toward the source of the sound, his mind racing with questions.
As he drew closer, his eyes widened in surprise.
There, lying on the ground, was Mewtwo—unconscious.
The Pokémon had been exposed to the intense energy from dozens of machines, but the results were worse than expected. Mewtwo was severely injured, its once radiant white skin now charred black.
It lay there, fainted, seemingly lost in a nightmare, faint wisps of energy still leaking from its body.
"This is…?"
Adrian furrowed his brow, puzzled by the sight before him.
Then, as if responding to some inner instinct, a bright green light began to condense in his hand.
The moment the green light appeared, Mewtwo's energy flow abruptly stopped, as if drawn in by some unseen force. The light then floated upward, hovering above Mewtwo before transforming into a thin, protective film that enveloped its body.
Adrian stood there, stunned.
He had never seen such a phenomenon before.
His Viridian Power sensed the underlying truth. While Mewtwo's physical injuries were severe, its mental state was even worse—far more damaged.
Its mind, like a broken sieve, had countless holes, making any attempt to heal it seem nearly impossible.
Adrian's thoughts raced. He had no idea what had happened to Mewtwo, but it was clear that the Pokémon's condition was critical.
His gaze flickered, and the thought crossed his mind.
Mewtwo, now injured, seemed in no condition to recover anytime soon, especially given the state of its mind.
And only he can save it now.
Without a second thought, he threw an Ultra Ball.
The ball gleamed brightly, and in an instant, Mewtwo's form vanished inside.
The ball wobbled a few times, then finally came to a stop.
**Ding!**
[Congratulations to the host for capturing Mewtwo, determining Mewtwo's qualifications as a legendary Pokémon, initial intimacy raised +60!]
A satisfied smile tugged at the corners of Adrian's lips.
His heart raced with triumph as he relaxed, realizing the conquest had been successful.
With an intimacy level of 60, Mewtwo would now be able to rely on and trust him.
Adrian knew that Mewtwo, as a legendary pokémon, could only truly be captured by the Master Ball in its conscious state. However, the Ultra Ball had been a stroke of luck, exploiting Mewtwo's unconsciousness. If it had been awake, the capture would have been nearly impossible.
"Shh—"
Adrian whistled, a sense of satisfaction washing over him as he walked toward the exit of Dray Family's base, unaffected by the devastation left in his wake.
The world outside was already buzzing with the aftermath.
.....
......
"The mysterious Pokémon destroys the Dray Island Experimental Base!"
"The Dray family's largest base was destroyed, their only heir was found unconscious, and the mysterious Pokémon is missing!"
"The Dray family's secret experiment was revealed, and the strongest genetic Pokémon was born?"
The headlines would be full of shock, questions, and theories, but Adrian's mind was already on what lay ahead.
"The consequences of illegal experiments! Will the Dray family be destroyed? Today's live broadcast at 7 o'clock will show you the Dray family's industry…"
At 7 PM.
As soon as news of the bombing at the Dray family experimental base hit, it immediately surged to the top of the hot search rankings.
Countless marketing accounts fuelled the frenzy, and endless speculations filled the air. Shocked onlookers could only watch as the spectacle unfolded.
This time slot had an enormous viewership, and the news was incredibly sensational.
In a matter of moments, tens of thousands of comments flooded in.
"The Dray family? Is it the Dray family in Velmor City that I know?"
"No way! Who would dare attack the Dray family? Didn't they just announce major experimental results recently?"
"Tsk, tsk, I'm just wondering why they built so many experimental bases. It turns out it's against the rules, and they're really going to suffer the consequences."
"Am I the only one who wants to know where the mysterious Pokémon went…"
Adrian took a deep breath, feeling a sense of relief as he scrolled through the news online.
"It seems the Dray family has suffered a heavy blow. Otherwise, there wouldn't be this much news now. This works out well for me."
Adrian was thoughtful, the wheels in his mind already turning.
After returning to Velmor City, he had been patiently waiting for news. Now that the Dray family's situation appeared dire, it was time to make his next move.
His goal was clear—he needed to head to the Pokémon Centre.
Thanks to Pokémon's presence in Aquamarine, medical technology had advanced significantly. Devices like space backpacks and Pokémon medical equipment were common and cutting-edge.
The Pokémon Centre had professional equipment that could enhance the effects of his Viridian Power, allowing him to extend its use time and aid in Mewtwo's recovery. Otherwise, with his current abilities, healing Mewtwo on his own would be far too difficult.
But before heading to the centre, there was one more thing to do!
He had a random lottery chance left, and he wasn't about to let it go to waste.
"System, start the lottery!"
**Ding!**
[Congratulations to the host for getting — Gible!]
"Pseudo-legendary Pokémon!" Adrian exclaimed, his excitement barely contained.
As the words left his lips, a flash of light appeared before him, revealing the Pokémon.
Gible emerged, its dark blue body glistening. A massive dorsal fin stretched from the top of its head, while its lower jaw and abdomen were a striking red, giving it the appearance of a young shark.
After the light dissipated, Gible was now in Adrian's arms.
He looked down at the little Pokémon and smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction.
At the same time, the detection technique activated automatically, revealing information about Gible that he had obtained from his previous two-star sign-in.
[Pokémon: Gible.]
[Qualification: Champion level.]
[Level: 1]
[Ability: Sand Hidden (In Sandstorm weather, the dodge probability is increased by 20% without losing physical strength)]
[Attribute: Dragon/ Ground]
[Skills: Tackle, Sand Attack, Sand Tomb]
[Combat power value: 100]
Adrian's eyes widened in surprise and joy.
This Gible's qualifications had surpassed that of a normal pseudo-legendary Pokémon and reached the Champion level!
Adrian couldn't contain his excitement after reading Gible's profile.
This Pokémon's qualifications surpassed that of a normal pseudo-legendary and reached the Champion level! That meant it was stronger than most pseudo-legendary Pokémon.
With a combat power value of 100 at level 1, it was clear that Gible was on a different level, capable of what only ordinary Pokémon could achieve at level 10.
As Gible affectionately rubbed against Adrian's chest, letting out a happy cry, Adrian smiled, feeling a sense of accomplishment.
Knowing that it was getting late, he decided to take advantage of the cover of darkness and head straight to the Pokémon Centre, carrying Gible with him. There was no time to waste.
