Chapter 471: [469] Terrifying Power!
Facing the surrounding Nalakuvera, a slight smirk curved August's lips.
Bang~
The shipping container beneath his feet shattered instantly.
That was August's power in action—mere movement unleashed such terrifying force.
Zap~ Zap~ Zap~
The Nalakuvera units fired lasers at him, but August dodged them effortlessly.
Hovering in the air, his magic surged, the surrounding space warping as if under a gravitational field. Everything felt heavier under his overwhelming presence.
In the face of absolute power, all else was meaningless.
"Grand Cross!"
August's voice rang out, calm and commanding. At that moment, he stood like a god, gazing down at the world below.
Before him, from the darkness, he stretched out his arms, summoning a cosmic array—nine planets and a single star aligned in a cross. Crimson flames roared across them, blazing fiercely.
If he was going to act, he might as well make it big—a warning to anyone foolish enough to cross him.
"That idiot! Is he trying to sink Itogami Island?!" Natsuki shouted, spotting the "Grand Cross" he'd unleashed.
The sheer magical energy radiating from it could obliterate the entire island if it went off unchecked.
Asagi, meanwhile, was slack-jawed. This was like gods clashing—shattering her understanding of the world over and over.
Boom~
The Grand Cross descended, and a mushroom cloud erupted from the impact.
In the awestruck gazes of everyone watching, August showcased pure, unadulterated violent beauty.
The entire area vanished from existence, leaving a permanent scar on Itogami Island's landscape.
What had once been an abandoned district—still part of the island despite its disuse—was now gone. Dust to dust, ashes to ashes.
Every Nalakuvera, from the Queen unit to the lesser models, was erased in that horrific explosion.
Gulp~
Far off, Kojou, who'd rushed over from miles away, stared at the newly formed stretch of sea in disbelief.
Just moments ago, this place had been littered with abandoned machinery and derelict buildings. Now, it was all gone—completely wiped away.
"Kojou, is this that guy's real power?" Motoki Yaze, Kojou's best friend and watcher, stammered in shock.
"This is his true strength? No way…"
The sight hit Kojou like a sledgehammer. Sure, each of the Fourth Primogenitor's familiars was hailed as a nation-destroying calamity, but as their master, he knew better. In his hands, they couldn't pull off anything like this.
August, meanwhile, felt exhilarated. How long had it been since he'd cut loose like this? It felt good.
In the year-plus he'd spent in the Akame ga Kill world, he'd never unleashed his full power. Even after arriving here, he'd held back—until today. Finally letting loose was satisfying.
"So this is his true power?" Koyomi Shizuka, watching from the shadows, murmured in awe.
She'd been searching for August's weaknesses, but so far, aside from his apparent fondness for women, she'd found nothing exploitable.
The Lion King Organisation had sent their best—sword shamans and dance maidens—but they'd made no headway.
Even Himeragi Yukina, their top sword shaman, had been won over by August. Koyomi could sense it—Himeragi no longer held the organisation in the same near-religious regard.
"If it comes to it, I'll have to use the last resort," Koyomi muttered, her gaze fixed on August high above.
Her usually stoic face flushed faintly. With no other options, she'd have to throw herself into the fray—literally.
In a way, the Lion King Organisation's Three Saints were no different from their sword shamans. The girls were brainwashed by the organisation, which itself answered to higher powers in the government.
For the right gain, even the head of the Three Saints was expendable. The title, like that of the sword shamans, was just a mantle to be passed on.
Across the sea, aboard the Oceanus Grave, Vatler watched the display, equally stunned.
"Unbelievable strength. Is this your true power? Even without familiars, you're this formidable. There's no doubt—you're on the same level as the primogenitors!"
Vatler's face lit up with excitement. Primogenitors were the pinnacle of this world—or so he'd thought.
The world had believed it too. But now, that ironclad rule was shattered. A non-vampire had climbed to the top.
Stretching a bit, August felt great—though he might've overdone it.
He hadn't meant to wipe out the whole area. Itogami Island, being artificial, was more fragile than a natural landmass.
"You moron! Do you realize what you've done?!" Natsuki yelled, flying over with Asagi on a magic circle.
The second she arrived, she laid into August.
Before, he'd just broken a few things here and there. Now? He'd erased an entire district. Did he have to go that hard?
"I didn't mean to lose control. I'll be careful next time," August said.
"Next time? You think there's a next time?!"
"It's already happened, Natsuki-chan. What do you want me to do about it?"
"Starting today, unless it's absolutely necessary, you're banned from making a move."
"What? Why?"
"Because you're a walking disaster! Even a casual attack from you is apocalyptic!"
"Fine, I'll hold back unless I have to."
August knew he'd gone overboard this time, so he didn't argue further.
Asagi, watching from the side, blinked in confusion. Which was the real August? This laid-back, shameless guy—or the godlike demon from moments ago?
