Chapter 17: 17 Hunt For Stone Mask. (2)

"Come on, hop on!" Yuki patted the seat behind her on the bike. The machine, although built with enough space for two people, didn't seem to sit well with Jotaro, his frown only deepened as he climbing aboard.

Settled into place, the bike sank slightly under his weight, prompting a chuckle from Yuki. "You're surprisingly light for someone your size," she teased, clearly expecting the bike to struggle more.

"Just get moving already," Jotaro grumbled, brushing off her remark. His voice carried its usual rude attitude, but Yuki wasn't fazed.

"Not so fast, big guy," she pointed to the back footrest. "See that? Rest your feet there and leave the rest to me." A sly grin spread across her face as she turned on the bike and leaned forward.

Jotaro silently complied, adjusting himself on the seat. Yuki revved the bike's engine, the growl echoing through the quiet street. The bike started rolling forward slowly, picking up speed as the engine purred.

The wind resistance was instant as Jotaro's clothes fluttered, and his hat flew off, only for Star Platinum to react in a split second, snatching it mid-air and carefully placing it back atop his head.

Jotaro narrow his eyes against its force and instinctively, his hands reached out for balance, landing firmly on Yuki's small waist. She flinched slightly but said nothing, her focus remaining on the road.

Behind her, Jotaro sighed and tried to look somewhere. His teenage body hormones surged as he registered the unexpected softness beneath his grip. Yuki's athletic build had an undeniable femininity about her.

'Pure thoughts, Jotaro. Pure thoughts!' he scolded himself, now hoping to arrive faster at the destination.

Nearby, Osaki Hachiman Shrine.

The darkened road ahead was lit up by a bike's headlights as they rolled to a stop. Jotaro dismounted first, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings while Yuki casually removed her helmet, shaking her hair free.

"Enjoyed the ride?" She asked with a teasing smile.

"You said this was the place?" Jotaro ignored her question, his tone flat.

"Yeah," Yuki replied, getting off her bike. "Before coming to Sendai, the higher-ups tried to assign me a mission. I refused, but I remember this location being in their files." She set her helmet down on the bike, walked to his side and then passed his figure.

"What are we waiting for? Let's move." she said, stepping forward with confidence. Jotaro followed, his tall frame looming behind her as they passed through the open gate.

"This feels off. Why isn't anyone guarding this place?" Yuki muttered, her voice neutral.

Jotaro nodded but said nothing as they continued walking for a few more seconds. Suddenly, his stand-enhanced vision caught movement, a figure perched in the treetops, watching them from several hundred meters away, Jotaro made eye contact with its red eyes but acted like nothing happened.

"Saw something?" Yuki asked, noticing the way his gaze lingered.

"No," Jotaro lied, his fist tightening. What he saw wasn't human, nor was it a curse. It was... different.

'A human body with goat-like horns and head shape…' His mind raced through possibilities. The first one: a transfigured human. But that shouldn't be possible since Mahito wasn't supposed to exist yet.

The second option was just as bad, a zombie created by a vampire.' Jotaro's eyes narrowed involuntarily. 'But that means someone had used the mask already... this is bad'

"Yuki, we are not alone anymore." Jotaro decided to let Yuki know, whispering loud enough for her to hear.

She displayed a confused expression but quickly sharpened her focus. Concentrating on her senses, she finally detected a few faint presences lingering quietly around them, in the distance. 'Impressive Big brother! you picked that up before I did,' she thought, nodding her head with pride.

The pair continued forward despite being fallowed, passing under a torii gate and into a clearing. Ahead of them stood a large shrine, its weathered condition cloaked in deep shadows. An oppressive aura hung in the air.

Then a rough hand emerged from the doorway, followed by the figure of an elderly man. He was short, with sparse gray hair and a large bald spot on his head, fain curse energy leaked out form him. His eyes were shrouded in shadow, adding to the unsettling aura that surrounded him.

"Outsiders," the old man rasped, his voice dry. "How did you get here?"

Jotaro's sharp gaze focused on a strange mark on the old man's forehead, a parasitic growth embedded deep in his skin. His expression darkened.

"He's being controlled," Jotaro stated flatly.

Yuki tilted her head, studying the man. "That explains why he feels so creepy despite being so weak," she said in a casual way. Her lips curled into a smirk. "Anyway, now that we've said hello, why don't the rest of you show yourselves?"

As if on cue, humanoid creatures stepped out from the shadows, surrounding them. Their distorted forms twisted and grotesque, they radiated an otherworldly malice as they smiled. "Neither human nor curse," Yuki muttered, her expression revealed the slight confusion. This was unlike anything she'd seen before.

"Why did you come here?" the old man demanded, his shadowed eyes narrowing further. "Only the clan leader is permitted to come uninvited."

His face twisted into a sneer. "Kill them for once!" he barked, and the zombie creatures lunged at them.

"Star Platinum!" Jotaro roared, his stand manifesting instantly. The closest zombie's head exploded under a single punch, its body crumpling to the ground. There was no hesitation in Jojo's movements, those zombies were beyond saving, with mutated bodies that could no longer be recognized and no way to resist, leaving them alive was a far worst faith then death.

'May your soul rest in peace' He gazed at another zombie coming his way.

Meanwhile Yuki stepped forward, delivering a devastating kick to another zombie. The force shattered its arms when he tried to block and sent him flying into two others, knocking them down like bowling pins. "They're not as tough as they look," she muttered unimpressed.

But to her irritation, as she went to punch another one its face transformed and snake heads shot towards her neck. "Neat trick" she added, dodging the surprise attack and throwing an attack of her own.
