Chapter 16: 16 Hunt For Stone Mask. (1)

"The Kamo Clan had recently initiated a large-scale search in Sendai City. The reason behind their sudden activity is unclear, but there are hints at the retrieval of a cursed object, possibly a cursed tool."

A man knelt down on the floor, his voice steady and respectful as he relayed this information.

Across from him stood Naobito Zenin, the head of the prestigious Zenin Clan, dressed in an olive-green yukata that barely covered his broad chest. A gourd of sake rested in his hand, the aroma of alcohol filling the room. He chuckled as he took a swig, letting the liquid burn down his throat.

"It must be something significant for the Kamo Clan to act so recklessly," Naobito remarked with amusement, but his words mocked the Kamo clan if anything.

"Shall we send a team of our own, Clan Leader?" the kneeling man asked, his brow furrowed, ready to accept orders.

Naobito waved him off dismissively. "No need. The Kamo Clan's glory days are long gone. They've been grasping at leftovers ever since their influence started waning. Desperate over a cursed object? Laughable."

He let out a boisterous laugh, setting his drink down. "Let them waste their time. There's no point in the Zenin Clan squandering its resources on their folly."

The kneeling man bowed low. "As you wish, Clan Leader." With that, he exited the room, leaving Naobito alone.

Once the door closed, Naobito leaned back, a sly grin spreading across his face. 'A cursed object? Could it be bait?' he wondered.

'The Kamo Clan is already on its last legs. They'll crumble under their own weight soon enough. No need for us to dirty our hands.' He erupted into laughter, the sound echoing throughout the spacious room.

6th day in Sendai.

Jotaro's sharp eyes scanned the large map in his hands as he walked, his towering and muscular frame parting the crowd with no effort. Pedestrians instinctively moved aside, avoiding him without a second thought.

Six days had passed since his arrival in Sendai City, and he had spent every moment searching for clues about the powerful item known as the Stone Mask. At day, he explored through potential leads and questioned locals, by night, he ventured into cursed hotspots, hoping the mask's ominous presence would draw curses toward it.

But so far, nothing.

"What a drag," Jotaro muttered under his breath, lowering the map in frustration. He had begun to lose hope. It felt increasingly likely that someone else had already claimed the mask before he'd even arrived near it.

As he stepped onto a crosswalk, the roar of a motorcycle engine broke through his thoughts. He paused, instinctively letting it pass, but his annoyance grew when the motorcycle skidded to a dramatic stop in front of him, blocking his path.

Jotaro's scowl deepened as the rider removed their helmet, revealing a cascade of long blonde hair and a familiar, playful smile.

"Big brother, you are here too?" Yuki greeted him with a wide smile, She wore a black leather jacket paired with light blue jeans and brown heeled boots that accentuated her tall stature.

"Tsukumo?" Jotaro asked with his usual expression, though inwardly, he was slightly surprised to see her here.

"Wrong! It's sister Yuki to you!" she corrected him with a wink, her grin widening.

Jotaro sighed, glancing at the onlookers who had paused to witness their exchange. "Let's get off the road first." he muttered.

Minutes later, they found themselves seated at a small coffee shop. Yuki had parked her bike nearby, and then dragged Jotaro along with surprising strength.

'This woman's strength is ridiculous,' Jotaro thought, even as he tried to pull away, her grip was stronger. He could have summoned his Stand to free himself but decided against it.

Finally seated, Jotaro wasted no time getting to the point. "Tell me what are you doing in Sendai City." he demanded, his tone as sharp as ever.

Yuki leaned back, placing her coffee on the table. "You don't know? Oh, right—you left Jujutsu High a while ago," she teased. "Word has spread that the Kamo Clan has been scurrying around Sendai like restless mice. Got me curious, so I decided to check things out myself."

At the mention of the Kamo Clan, Jotaro's expression became more serious. They were one of the three major jujutsu clans, known for its blood manipulation cursed technique. But what could the Kamo be doing in Sendai?

'Could they know about the mask?' His thoughts wandered back to the Stone Mask. The star had mentioned this was a different universe, meaning changes could exist. Perhaps the Stone Mask was one of the Kamo clan's cursed objects before... form their connection with blood it could make sense. Or maybe this was all part of that guy's plan.

"Tsk." Jotaro clicked his tongue in irritation, his mind drifting toward the worst-case scenarios. "Yuki," he called out suddenly, his voice serious. "Have you heard anything about a mask?"

Yuki put on a thoughtful expression "A mask..? No, nothing that specific."

She tilted her head, studying his reaction." But from what I've heard, they're definitely after some kind of cursed object."

Jotaro's frown deepened.

Then, Yuki's playful demeanor returned. She leaned forward, resting her chin on her hands. "How about we work together?" she suggested with a smile. "If you want it that badly, I'll help you find it. In exchange, you owe me one."

Jotaro hesitated but Yuki was far more experienced in these matters than he was, and he knew she wasn't one to follow the higher-ups orders or hoard cursed objects for herself she she was somewhat trustworthy.

'Teaming up with her could increase my chances of finding the mask.' Jotaro decided that agreeing with her was for the best and If he wanted to find the mask he needed her help.

"I'll trust you then." he said at last, extending his arm for a handshake.

"Great choice, big brother!" Yuki's smile widened as she shook his hand enthusiastically.
