Chapter 536: Easy Money, Attack!

Jeron looked around at all of the bystanders, who were all waiting to see what would happen. With a curt nod, he accepted William's offer.

"How many do you want?" William asked.

"Hmm, how many do you have?" Jeron looked behind William's shoulder and tried to judge the amount of information based on the size of the chest. He cursed himself for not paying attention earlier when William was setting up the stall.

"That's a trade secret." William smiled.

"Then I'll have two for now." Jeron handed William twenty Spirit Jades without any hesitation and exchanged for two small slips of paper.

Jeron felt slightly embarrassed that he'd spent a considerable sum of money on paper, but he stored them both in his Space Ring and called his small group over to an inconspicuous corner of the area.

He used an Artifact much like William's Mythical Array Wheel to raise Arrays that would prevent eavesdropping, then read the first slip of paper to his group. "The 15th Floor Boss has five phases and it grows more powerful after each phase."

He opened the second slip, "The Boss is slower than the Morphing Devil Tree's branches, but only in its first and second phases."

These were both crucial bits of information that if true were worth a large sum of money. The first kill of any Boss usually dropped a special treasure that was worth several hundred Spirit Jades, but the greatest use is that it sometimes would hint at the location of another Dungeon.

If Jeron could control a Dungeon of his own like the Academy controlled this one... he and his brother could create their own Families and their status would rise to a new level!

This was the dream of too many Commoners, though the reality of the situation was that very few actually achieved this. Bridging the generational gap between Commoners and the Excellent Families was too difficult, and many usually died out before they could do so.

But Jeron felt that he was different. He flashed William a thumbs-up, trusting that the man wouldn't lie to him when it came to information.

"It seems good? Let's try it out!" one group said as they lined up outside William's stall.

Seeing Jeron's reaction interested several more groups, and they quickly lined up behind the first group. In minutes, William's stock of information was bought out, earning him an easy six hundred Spirit Jades for the sixty sold slips.

Even to the students, this was no small amount of money, but it had been earned from the collective funds of many rich nobles. They weren't worried about the individual small losses when this information would help them deal with the Dungeon long-term.

William wondered if he should have sold his information for twenty Spirit Jades each instead, but he couldn't change his prices now. His last bit of information was sold out, so he used Magic to dismantle his shop. Moments later, the neon sign flickered out, disappointing all the others in line.

Before anyone could come up to him with any doubts or questions regarding the information he gave out, William entered the portal to the Quake Dungeon and teleported himself directly to the 14th Floor.

As per an earlier agreement, William's classmates were already present on the floor, having teleported up themselves an hour or so earlier. The group was a bit larger than before, and several classmates that hadn't shown up last time were now here.

William recognized Aster Coldire amongst the group, since his name was so unique. He knew nothing about the boy other than he liked to glare at others, but he seemed close to Bethany Irisa.

Most of the class wasn't bothered by the fact that William was over an hour late to their agreed time, since they needed to plan accordingly for any problems during the Boss fight, but Mikaela was a different story.

She walked over with heavy steps and her arms crossed in front of her chest.

"It's been an hour! You said in class that you'd explain how the Boss worked! How are you going to do that if you don't show up!"

William laughed, "Sorry, I found an opportunity to make some money, so I got sidetracked. Also, the Vice Principal wanted to talk to me earlier."

"The Vice Principal?" Mikaela asked with a raised eyebrow. What would the Vice Principal want with a First-Year? Is this William really someone special?

Her eyes glistened as she thought of something, but her expression was a mystery to William. He simply nodded and didn't explain further. Your next chapter awaits on My Virtual Library Empire

He said, "Anyways. I'm here now, so let's talk strategy."

Mikaela nodded, "Who do we need?"

"Just me, to be honest, but we're going to do this as a group so everyone can fight the Boss if I'm somehow not around. Here's the plan..."

"Wait wait wait. What do you mean, "Just me."?!" Mikaela raised her voice slightly. Was William saying that he could singlehandedly kill the Boss without any help?

If that was true, it would explain why he was able to deal with all these other Magical Beasts that spawned on the floors without an issue, though he also could have easily beaten Yuhe, right? Mikaela couldn't tell if Will was joking or just overconfident.

"It's not as difficult a Boss as it seems, as long as you're careful. I've looked ahead and I can tell that it's a Sun Stone Golem." William explained.

Mikaela had never heard of a Sun Stone Golem before. It must be a Magical Beast unique to the Dungeon, or maybe it went extinct millennia ago in the Slightveil Plane. It wasn't unusual for that to happen in the Ascended Realms.

William continued, "It's very arrogant and won't attack immediately unless it views you as a threat. My first time, I was able to walk right up to it and it barely moved. As long as I don't go inside, you should be able to use this time to prepare yourself."

"I'm guessing you mean to say that it sees you as a threat now and won't let you do whatever you want?" the pieces were starting to come together in Mikaela's head, though not exactly in the way that the events had actually played out.

She guessed that William had cheesed [1] the Sun Stone Golem, by preparing several powerful Spells in advance to stay on the upper hand during the fight. If William had fought the Boss like this, it made sense.

"The Sun Stone Golem gets stronger with each phase, and it has an attack that you absolutely must watch out for..." William continued on to explain the finer details of their strategy. If all went well, William wouldn't even be needed for the entire duration of the fight.

Of course, that all depended on how much Yuhe intended to participate. He wouldn't know for sure until he helped her refill her last storage device. As it was right now, unless he was helping her, she wouldn't even give him the time of day.

Mikaela listened to William's strategy thoroughly, asking questions as needed. Since William's strategy was still fairly basic, Mikaela added her own input to help improve the success of his plan, reorganizing the students simultaneously.

When they were done, the class of now twenty-six plus four Second-Year students were organized into three main groups: offense, defense, and support. It was a simple arrangement, but the more complex a plan was, the more likely it was to fail in a real battle.

After several hours of preparation, everyone had established their roles and were ready to press on to the 15th Floor. They ascended the stairs together, with William in the far rear. Until the group was fully prepared or unless the Sun Stone Golem took initiative to attack, he didn't plan on entering the Boss Room.

They spread out and took their positions, based on their roles.

The offensive group would be entirely focused on attacking the marble joints of the Sun Stone Golem, so those that specialized in piercing Spirit Auras would attack first.

If the Sun Stone Golem tried to rush forward and use physical attacks, the defensive group would step in with multiple layers of walls. They would use every Element in their disposal, whether it was a wall of vines, ice, or earth, to stop the Sun Stone Golem from attacking any group.

Lastly, the support group had several members with the Blessing, Time, Curse, and Life Elements, who would be slowing down the Boss, boosting the abilities of teammates, and healing if necessary.

William watched from the stairs for several minutes, keeping a close eye on the Sun Stone Golem while it remained still in the center of the room. When all the students were fully prepared, he shouted.

"Attack!"

[1] Cheese: A gaming term for using exceptionally underhanded strategies to reach a goal, or in this sense to defeat a Boss. In most cheesing situations, one will position themselves in a way that their opponent couldn't possibly reach them with their attacks or abilities, so they can attack without taking any damage in return.
