Chapter 535: Information Stall
William usually allowed Atticus to hide nearby the Hotel when they weren't inside the Gravitas Ruins, but since the little guy hadn't drawn any of the students' attention, he decided it was safe for him to enter the Filem Academy.
William mentally told Atticus to come out, who responded by excitedly slithering around William's neck and arms. The Illusion Magic faded, fully revealing Atticus' form to Professor Tenningbrew and Vice Principal Kenny.
"His name is Atticus." William said.
Tenningbrew nodded, "His blood was refined with some valuable materials, and he has a close bond with you. A very good summon."
"He's been with me since almost the very beginning." William replied, once again feeling nostalgic. He wished Flame Dragon Uri wasn't so high profile, otherwise he'd have brought him and some of the others into the Ascended Realms as well.
The Vice Principal spoke, "That's great, but you can only bring your summons to class on days that we conduct battle. Otherwise, they'll have to stay at home."
"What am I supposed to do with him, then? I don't have a home, I've been living in the Hotel."
"That should be safe enough, but should you find yourself in any trouble you can leave him here in Tenningbrew's classroom. He'll take good care of your pet."
"Wait, why do I have to do it? There are plenty others that can monitor summons, not just me!" Tenningbrew complained.
Kenny glared, "You've been spending all this time in my office, so yours must be available."
"Fine!" Tenningbrew shouted, "But only because he's one of my favorite students! Anyone else can fuck off."
William didn't know what to say so he just stayed quiet the entire time. Before he knew it, William gained assistance in the Quake Dungeon, a Ring of Primary Laws, and even an emergency place to keep Atticus.

His Vice Principal and Professor Tenningbrew were very generous, but William didn't want to push his luck by asking for more things. He and the Vice Principal talked specifics regarding the Realm of Fire, then he left the school and returned to the Quake Dungeon.
The Quake Dungeon was much busier than it had been the previous few days, though it wasn't because of the Vice Principal. Since school had already ended, word wouldn't get out until the next school day.
The majority of the students that appeared were in the third year, though several groups of second-years had also formed and were planning out a Boss fight.
William listened closely to various conversations, quickly discovering that it was the 15th floor that everyone was excited about. Someone had scouted ahead and discovered the Sun Stone Golem Boss, so they were vying for the first kill bonus.
Little did everyone know that William had already claimed the bonus for killing the Sun Stone Golem. Not only that, but he'd already killed the Boss of the 20th floor!
Wait a minute. Information is worth something too, right? William smiled viciously, a plan forming in his mind as he realized he held all of the cards.
He checked with one of the guards first, since the rules didn't explicitly say anything about his plan. Too many times had William been screwed over because of the local rules, whether it was a Guild, City, or even Sect.
Once the guard gave confirmation, William stood slightly off-center in the area near the portal, then used Earth Magic to create a circular half-wall that rose to his waist. He thickened the half-wall, flattened out its top to create a smooth surface, then inscribed several Tier 4 Arrays that would create a neon sign above him.
SELLING INFORMATION ON THE 15TH FLOOR! JUST 10 SPIRIT JADES!
The sign created a perfect circle in the air and rotated at a smooth pace, almost perfectly matching the design of signposts in William's old World, Reius. He finished off the project by creating a small chest behind him, which one might think was entirely for show and had no purpose whatsoever.
What was the point of a chest when one had Space Rings?
William retrieved several large pieces of paper from his Space Ring and ripped them up into papers the size of a fortune from a fortune cookie. Next, he wrote several phrases on each, containing different information related to the Sun Stone Golem.
Lastly, William stored around a hundred slips of paper inside of the chest, then sealed it with Tier 6 Arrays that no student would be able to access in a short amount of time.
The neon sign and William's new stall attracted a lot of attention instantly. Those who were planning out the Boss fight and already had some information scoffed at him, while the others were genuinely interested.
Ten Spirit Jades is nothing to these children who all came from prominent families. If anything, they were suspicious because the price was so low. Not only that, but this was the first time many of them were seeing William, who was only a First-Year.
What could a First-Year student know that they didn't already?
While William's stall was flashy, the majority decided to ignore him. William hadn't expected this outcome, but he quickly recovered and adopted another tactic to spread his fame. He turned on Mana Mode and looked around the area, searching for the student with the largest Mana Reserve.
He pointed at a medium-build Third-Year with baggy orange pants. "You there, you look strong, but are you sure you can fight the Boss without my help?"
"Pffft!" the student in question couldn't hold in his laughter and gave William a questioning look, "Do you want to die?"
"Maybe. Are you sure you have the ability to kill me?" William winked.
"Y-You! Do you know who I am?" the student was incensed by William's provocation.
"Nope. Take it personally or don't; I'd rather not see my fellow students die for no reason." William shrugged his shoulders while speaking.
The Third-Year looked at William with narrowed eyes, though he didn't sense any true hostility from William. To him, though, it didn't matter. Whether William meant to insult him or not, he was going to get a taste of his own medicine today.
He looked at the guard first, who already understood the boy's attention and nodded his approval. Fighting was supposed to be against the rules, but William had already told the guard that it was okay if he got attacked once or twice.
"I hope your Arrays are stronger than they look!" the student shouted while a compressed soundwave traveled towards William at high speed. It was almost a duplicate to the Spell that William used on the 20th Floor Boss, though almost a hundred times weaker.
Regardless, its strength was still in the Ascension Realm and couldn't be taken lightly. William rose a tungsten wall to defend against the attack, not needing to use an exorbitant amount of Mana.
The soundwave slammed against the tungsten wall, dispersing on either side and blasting the unprotected eardrums of some of the closest students. They covered their ears and backed away, using some Pills to heal their light injuries.
William lowered the tungsten wall moments after the attack landed, shaking his head solemnly. "I've seen enough. If you're the strongest one here, no one will beat the 15th Floor Boss."
Murmurs spread amongst the students.
While "strongest" would be a stretch, the Third-Year in front of William was Grey Slightwing, who could at least rank in the top 20. The student that once stole William's kill on the Morphing Devil Tree was much stronger than Grey, but that didn't make him weak.
"We don't have a chance?" someone wondered what the unknown First-Year had seen. They could tell from the sturdiness of the tungsten wall that William wasn't a pushover, either, so they started to believe that William might actually have some useful information.
A Second-Year student that William recognized walked up to the stall with a bright smile. It was Jeron, whom William had partied with during his first trip to the Quake Dungeon. His scarred arm had healed a little bit, though it was still oddly discolored and would need a few months at least.
When Jeron reached William, he said, "I think I'll take my chances on you. William, right?"
William nodded.
"Great! How does this work. 10 Spirit Jades?"
William smiled, glad that his first customer was a friendly student whom he'd already interacted with before. If it was someone he'd recently pissed off, such as Grey, William probably wouldn't have had as easy a time selling his information.
He spoke loud enough that anyone listening would hear. "Once you've paid me the Spirit Jades, I'll give you a slip of paper that has one piece of information on the 15th Floor Boss. It could be simple information, such as the name of the Boss, or it might be more complex, such as strengths and weaknesses.
Every piece of information is one-hundred percent accurate, and all you have to do is pay ten Spirit Jades. In my opinion, it's a pretty good deal. What do you say?"
