In Naruto, the System Asks Me to Entrust Pokémon

Chapter 68: Chapter 68: The Nine-Tails Chakra Eruption

"Bulba!"

Bulbasaur once again extended its vines, swiftly ensnaring the remaining swordsmen.

At this point, none of them had any fight left in them. They didn't even attempt to dodge.

In mere moments, every single one of them was bound tightly.

"Nice job, Bulbasaur!"

Naruto grinned, giving a thumbs-up.

"Bulba!"

Bulbasaur puffed out its chest, looking smug, as if to say, Did you really expect anything less?

Naruto, unable to fully read Bulbasaur's expression, turned around and smirked at Kakashi and the others.

"See? I'm pretty amazing, huh?"

Everyone collectively rolled their eyes.

Sakura: "It was all thanks to Bulbasaur!"

Sasuke: "Idiot."

Kakashi: "…"

Naruto's grin twitched, his smugness evaporating instantly.

Still, he quickly composed himself and turned to Kakashi.

"Kakashi-sensei, what should we do with these guys?"

Kakashi, without a second thought, said coldly, "Kill them."

"Ki… Kill them?"

Naruto froze, staring at Kakashi in shock.

Sakura gasped, covering her mouth, eyes wide with disbelief.

Even Sasuke's eyes flickered slightly, though he quickly regained his composure.

Kakashi glanced at them and nodded.

"That's right. Kill them."

"K-Kakashi-sensei, isn't that… a bit much?"

Naruto hesitated. Sure, these guys were scum, but did they really have to die?

Kakashi gave Naruto a sharp look.

"Naruto, what's your plan? Let them go? If we do, they'll come back seeking revenge. And when they do, the innocent workers will be the ones to suffer. Their deaths will be on you."

Naruto clenched his fists, looking between the bound swordsmen and Gato. His hesitation was clear.

The group fell silent.

Kakashi and Sasuke remained expressionless, while Sakura watched with concern.

Behind them, Tazuna and the workers, who had just started to relax, tensed up again.

"Please! Don't kill us! We were just following orders!"

"It was Gato! It was all Gato's idea!"

"We'll kill him for you! Just spare us!"

The swordsmen begged frantically.

Gato, still sitting on the ground, had completely wet himself. His eyes were filled with terror as he stammered.

"I-I was wrong! I swear I won't hurt anyone again! I'll leave this place forever! Just let me go!"

Naruto's hesitation deepened. His hands clenched and unclenched as he turned away, unwilling to look.

And then—

"Naruto, watch out!"

Sakura's voice rang out in alarm.

Sasuke instantly moved, sprinting forward.

Naruto turned just in time to see Gato, who had been groveling on the ground moments ago, suddenly lunging at him with a katana.

Before he could react, the cold steel pressed against his throat.

Gato sneered, turning to the others.

"Let me go, or I'll kill him right here! Now! Do it!"

Naruto's mind went blank. It was as if he'd been struck by a hammer.

"Bulba!"

Bulbasaur growled in fury.

It had let its guard down for just a second, and now things had turned against them.

Hearing Bulbasaur's cry, Gato's expression twisted in hatred.

He lashed out with his foot, kicking Bulbasaur hard.

The Grass-type Pokémon tumbled across the ground.

"You damn monster! If it weren't for you, these ninjas would already be dead!"

Bulbasaur seethed with rage but held itself back—Naruto was still in danger.

Sakura and Sasuke glared at Gato, their eyes filled with anger.

But Kakashi…

He remained expressionless. As if this was exactly what he had expected.

His calm lasted only a moment.

The next second, his expression darkened.

"I won't let you harm my partner."

"I won't let you call it a monster."

"It's my comrade!"

Naruto's furious voice roared.

A surge of orange chakra erupted from his body.

His pupils shifted.

His entire presence radiated raw, unfiltered emotion—anger, hatred, and bloodlust.

"Kakashi-sensei, this—"

Sakura turned to Kakashi, stammering.

But Kakashi didn't answer.

Behind his mask, his lips curled into a bitter smile.

Just great. This is getting out of hand.

Sasuke's Sharingan activated involuntarily, his pupils dilating in shock.

Meanwhile, Gato was visibly trembling.

"S-Shut up! I'll kill you!"

Gato's hands shook violently. The katana in his grasp was nearly slipping from his fingers.

And then—

"ROAR!"

Naruto let out a guttural snarl.

A single, flaming tail of chakra formed behind him.

In an instant, he grabbed the katana at his throat.

With a single squeeze—

CRACK!

The metal crumpled like paper.

Gato's face drained of color.

He collapsed backward, scrambling to put distance between himself and Naruto.

But it was too late.

Naruto turned to face him.

His crimson eyes locked onto Gato, filled with nothing but pure, murderous intent.

"No, no! I don't want to die! Please!"

"ROAR—!"

But Naruto didn't respond. With a single swipe, he ended Gato's life.

Then, his gaze turned toward the bound swordsmen.

"Help! Someone help us! That monster—he's a monster!"

"No—please, spare me—!"

Slash!

But their cries did nothing to stop Naruto's rampage.

One by one, they fell under his claws, their blood staining the bridge.

Naruto then turned his head toward Kakashi and the others.

As they locked eyes with him, Sakura, Sasuke, and Tazuna's group all felt a chill crawl down their spines. A deep-seated fear gripped them.

Sakura quickly looked away and turned to Kakashi.

"Kakashi-sensei… what's wrong with Naruto?"

Sasuke, too, looked at Kakashi with curiosity.

Whatever was happening to Naruto, his strength had skyrocketed.

Kakashi didn't answer. Instead, he shouted, "Naruto, snap out of it!"

"ROAR—!"

Naruto let out a guttural roar and lunged toward Kakashi.

Kakashi shook his head, stepping forward. He caught Naruto's arm mid-swing and executed a flawless judo throw, slamming him into the ground.

Locking his legs around Naruto, he delivered a precise chop to the back of his neck, knocking him unconscious.

After all, as a veteran Jonin, dealing with a rampaging, mindless one-tailed state Naruto was relatively simple.

"Phew…"

As the orange chakra slowly faded away, Kakashi finally exhaled and released his grip, standing up.

The others, seeing his actions, let out a sigh of relief.

Then, their expressions stiffened.

Even Bulbasaur, standing nearby, was frozen in shock.

It wasn't sure how to react.

On one hand, Kakashi had just hit its trainer.

On the other hand… it didn't exactly seem wrong.
