In Naruto, the System Asks Me to Entrust Pokémon

Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Truly Ignorant

At this moment, Naruto stared at the approaching rogue swordsmen, a trace of fear flashing in his eyes.

He had never experienced a situation like this before—more than ten enemies, all wielding swords, all coming to kill him.

Even as a ninja, he couldn't help but feel nervous.

He glanced back at Kakashi and the others, his lips twitching.

Seriously? They're just watching?!

And Kakashi—was that encouragement in his eyes?

You really expect me to take them on alone?!

"Hey, brat, stop looking back. Your so-called comrades must be scared stiff by now. You might as well die first!"

"Yeah, don't worry, they'll be joining you soon enough!"

The rogue swordsmen sneered as they closed in, raising their blades.

Hearing their taunts, Naruto gritted his teeth. His fear faded, replaced by determination.

"I'm not dying here! I'm going to be Hokage!"

He quickly formed a hand seal.

"Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

Poof!

In an instant, the bridge was filled with countless copies of Naruto.

The rogue swordsmen and even Gato were stunned. Their eyes widened in disbelief.

Gato clutched his face, his voice trembling.

"T-This... How is this possible?! How can a ninja wield such power?!"

The rogue swordsmen rubbed their eyes in shock.

"No way… This can't be real! Ninjas aren't supposed to be this strong!"

"This must be some kind of trick! An illusion!"

"Everyone, attack! These clones must be fake!"

But before they could act, the shadow clones launched their attack.

Several clones appeared before the swordsmen, throwing punches.

Bam!

The struck swordsmen staggered back, their confidence shaken.

"This isn't a trick! They're real!"

"Agh! What the hell?! How can ninjas be this strong?!"

"Weren't ninjas supposed to be just tools for the nation? How can they be this powerful?!"

Hearing these words, Kakashi frowned slightly.

Ninjas… tools for the nation?

Since when?

Isn't it the nations that rely on ninjas for strength?

Where the hell did this ridiculous idea come from?

Still, now was not the time to think about such things.

Poof!

One of the rogue swordsmen mustered his courage and slashed at a shadow clone.

The clone instantly vanished into a puff of smoke.

Seeing this, his fear lessened, and he shouted to his comrades.

"They're not that strong! Just attack them! If you hit them, they disappear!"

The other swordsmen, emboldened by his words, swung their blades wildly.

One by one, the shadow clones were cut down, vanishing into smoke.

With each disappearing clone, the swordsmen's confidence soared.

"Damn brat! You're dead for sure this time!"

"Let's see if you can keep up that trick forever!"

"Kill the ninja!"

Drunk on their newfound courage, the swordsmen charged at Naruto.

Naruto frowned. This is getting troublesome…

"Bulbasaur!"

He called out for backup. Facing this many enemies alone was still difficult for him.

"Bulba!"

Nearby, Bulbasaur had been lazily watching alongside Charmander. Hearing Naruto's call, it let out an annoyed huff before quickly rushing forward.

Kakashi didn't intervene. He understood that Naruto still lacked real combat experience. Against this many enemies, some assistance was reasonable.

As Bulbasaur arrived beside Naruto, his confidence returned.

"Bulbasaur, use Vine Whip!"

"Bulba!"

Bulbasaur nodded, its expression turning serious.

Two thick vines shot out from its back, whipping toward the enemies at high speed.

Kakashi and the others observed with curiosity.

Kakashi narrowed his eyes slightly. Bulbasaur's vines are noticeably larger than before. They look much sturdier too.

Sasuke noticed it as well.

"So this is the power of evolution?" he muttered.

His gaze shifted to Charmander, anticipation growing in his eyes.

If Bulbasaur had improved this much… what would happen when his Pokémon evolved?

Even Sakura looked at Chansey with newfound eagerness.

However, she quickly shook her head. Chansey evolves with an evolution item… That's different.

Whoosh!

The rogue swordsmen's eyes widened as the vines lashed toward them.

Fear flickered in their eyes, and they instinctively tried to retreat.

But they were too slow.

Two of them were instantly entangled by the vines, lifted into the air.

"T-This… What is this?! Is it a demon?!"

"No! I take it back! Don't eat me! I taste terrible!"

"It's a monster! It has to be a monster! Ninjas are demons that control these creatures!"

The remaining rogue swordsmen, their eyes filled with fear, stumbled backward.

Gato, on the other hand, had completely collapsed onto the ground. His entire body trembled uncontrollably, his face as pale as a ghost.

Naruto sighed in exasperation upon hearing their terrified ramblings.

Seriously? Are they really this ignorant?

Have they gone their entire lives without learning anything about ninjas?

Shaking his head, Naruto decided not to waste time arguing with fools. Instead, he gave another command.

"Bulbasaur, tie them all up."

"Bulba!"

Bulbasaur nodded, its eyes gleaming with irritation as it turned toward the swordsmen.

It had definitely heard them calling it a 'monster' over and over again. That wasn't something it could just ignore.

"No! We must fight back!" one of the swordsmen shouted, attempting to rally his terrified comrades.

"As warriors, we should stand against monsters, no matter what!"

"Yeah! We can't just cower in fear!"

One particularly bold swordsman stepped forward and ran toward his captured allies. Raising his katana, he swung it down with all his might at the vines constraining them.

Clang!

The blade struck, but… nothing happened.

The vines remained intact.

The swordsman's hands trembled. His grip on his weapon loosened for a brief moment, nearly dropping it.

"This… This is impossible… It has to be fake!"

Muttering to himself in disbelief, he lifted his sword again and slashed down even harder.

Clang!

The result was the same. The vines didn't budge, but his arms ached from the force of his own attack.

The surrounding swordsmen fell into stunned silence.

The fear that had momentarily wavered came crashing back.

Their expressions turned to sheer hopelessness.

Some even let their swords slip from their hands, but none of them made any effort to pick them up.

They simply stood there, faces blank, as if their fates were already sealed.
