I was sold to a dangerous place in order to repay my parents’ debt, and I ended up being bought by a vampire young lady. I became the feed for the beautiful maid.

Chapter 23: World Gap hospitality

World Gap hospitality

Finally, the day of the tea party has arrived.

For this day, everyone in the mansion had put in meticulous preparations.

Failure was not an option.

The tailcoat, which I had finally grown accustomed to, feels as heavy as armor due to nervousness, but I maintain a calm façade with the poker face which I had acquired through rigorous etiquette training.

While waiting at the entrance, four noble ladies invited from another world arrived at the Earth mansion of the Scarlet Duke’s family.

First were Lady Luella of the Marquis Marjelin’s family and Lady Aisha of the Baron Stellarrio’s family.

Both are humans, and according to the data, they are all fifteen years old.

Next is Lady Reneia of the Earl Gravis’s family, who is also a vampire like the young lady. Despite being sixteen years old, she had a mature appearance filled with elegance that didn’t seem her age.

She briefly glanced at me but quickly averted her gaze. I don’t know if she noticed I’m the young lady’s slave, or if she simply found my blood unappetizing, but it seemed that my concerns were unfounded.

Finally, Lady Selya of the Marquis Feneschis’s family arrives.

She had the typical beauty of an elf with bright blonde hair and emerald-like eyes. Despite being 118 years old, she was equivalent to eighteen in human years.

All of them are dressed in dresses that look quite expensive, and they are accompanied by attendants, likely butlers and maids.

Following my and Lilith’s guidance, they proceeded to the table prepared in the courtyard.

In the courtyard, the young lady, as the host, and Silvinia-sama, have already taken their seats.

Upon seeing the guests, the young lady gracefully stood up with flawless gestures and greeted them with a gentle smile., making her movements precise and efficient.

“Greetings, everyone. I sincerely thank you all for travelling all the way from another world to Earth for today’s tea party. We have prepared tea and confectioneries for this occasion, and hope for an enjoyable conversation.”

“W-We are honored to be invited to the prestigious Scarlet Duke’s tea party!”

In response to the young lady’s greeting, Lady Luella, as the Marquis’s daughter, offered a slightly nervous curtsy with great respect.

The other noble daughters followed suit, but their expressions also seem somewhat tense.

To be honest, even I, who had regular interactions with the young lady, couldn’t help but be surprised.

Her mannerisms as a noble were so elegant that it was hard to believe she was the youngest here.

I had heard that she was just putting an act, but witnessing such noble grace, it was hard to believe she was merely pretending.

It’s not just her noble status that earns her respect from people in another world, but her inherent talent as well.

After the greetings, the young lady invited them to sit with a “Please.” Lilith and I led the young ladies to their seats.

Now is the time to demonstrate the manners that Hizuki-san taught me.

Place the cups and teapots on the round tray on the table without making a sound.

Ensure the handle of the cup faces the person’s dominant hand. (Of course, without making a sound.)

When pouring the drink, use one hand without holding the teapot lid.

Even just serving drinks requires a lot of mindfulness, but it’s necessary to ensure the guests enjoy their time.

One unexpected point was that the tension among the young ladies due to the atmosphere of the Duke’s tea party seems to have allowed me to perform more calmly than I anticipated.

When other people are nervous or scared, it seems to bring out a psychological calmness in me.

Regardless, I successfully overcome the first obstacle without any mistakes and heave a sigh of relief.

However, I remind myself not to visibly relax and keep it hidden deep inside.

Amidst this rollercoaster of emotions, the young lady drank her tea, and the other young ladies began to taste the drinks I poured for them.

“This tea is delicious.”

“It’s at the perfect temperature, and the aroma is delightful.”

“The aftertaste is refreshing, and it brings a sense of calm.”

“I wonder what kind of tea leaves were used?”

The young ladies savor the tea and eagerly share their impressions with smiles on their faces.

It’s evident from their expressions that they have taken a liking to it, and I find myself wanting to loosen my cheeks despite not even being the one who brewed it.

The young lady herself seemed to share the same sentiment and smiled gracefully.

“Hehe, I’m glad you liked it. This is what they call ‘instant’ tea that you can find on Earth.”

“What!? This is the rumored ‘instant’ tea?! …Ah.”

Lady Aisha was taken aback by the young lady’s revelation.

Realizing she had raised her voice, she quickly covered her mouth, her face turning pale.

The other three young ladies gasped, their surprise stifled by Lady Aisha’s outburst, most likely because of the proper etiquette they were taught.

Nevertheless, the young lady continued without showing any concern, maintaining her smile.

“That’s correct. It may not be familiar to you from the other world, but on Earth, it’s affordable and can be brewed deliciously with just hot water, no matter who makes it.”

“To think we can enjoy something so delicious with such a simple method…!”

“Earth’s culture is quite advanced, isn’t it!”

The young ladies’ excitement over instant tea is quite a fresh sight from my perspective as an Earthling.

It could be considered a “world gap” instead of a “generation gap”.

It’s like showing a smartphone to someone from the time when flip phones were popular—quite similar reactions, I suppose.

The highly praised tea was prepared by Hizuki-san.

Even though it’s instant, the taste can vary depending on the person brewing it, as you’d expect.

When I tasted it, I realized her skill in making tea is worthy of recognition from the head chef, Jajimu-san.

To put it bluntly, it’s almost like a deception.

However, the main objective of this tea party is for the noble young ladies from another world to savor Earth’s food and drinks.

From that perspective, it’s a success.

Of course, we didn’t just prepare instant tea. Jajimu-san also made some homemade sweets using Earth ingredients.

“Besides the tea, you must try the matcha chiffon cake, banana soufflé cake, and strawberry tart.”

“Yes, please!”

With the young lady encouraging them to indulge in the cakes, the noble young ladies couldn’t resist and were allured by the sweets’ magical charm.

These cakes were already a unique experience for them, but being prepared by Jajimu-san, the Scarlet Duke’s head chef, the storm of compliments seemed endless.

It appears that only about sixty percent of what I’ve learned will be put to use, but with a poker face, I observe the unfolding events with a wry smile.

At this moment, I was convinced that everything would go smoothly.

However, I was forgetting a crucial thing—that trouble can still happen, no matter how well-prepared you are…
