Genocide Reality

Chapter 15 - Conflict at the First Floor

I fill my backpack full of gold coins and items and speed up to the upper floors.

My backpack has infinite storage, so theoretically, I can put in as much as I want.

It weighs more, but that’s what I’m trying to train for. I drink a lot of strength potions that increase my physical strength and push on.

In reality, gold is a metal that is almost three times heavier than iron. Because of this, no matter how much you enhance your strength through doping, your movements become slow.

“Well, I can only do this  when I go up, right?”

While there are many enemies, for me, who wield the ultimate longsword ‘Solitude’, they are just small fry that shatters with a single strike.

It is no problem at all if my movement is hampered by my backpack, which gets heavier and heavier as I go up the levels.

“Intermediate Flame, fly!”

With mana to spare and the intermediate fireball that I’ve come to be able to fire without failure, the group of enemies is obliterated in an instant.

No need to use a sword against Kobolds, Orcs, and the like anymore. With leather-gloved fists, I can parry their rusty swords and knock them down with a single punch.

I’m looking forward to checking how much I’ve ranked up at the Oracle.

Incidentally, even though I was wearing the ‘Mantle of Diminishing’, I discarded the hard leather armor that reached its durability limit and equipped a full set of steel armor that the boss on the third floor was wearing.

I can always buy lightweight gear later, and I plan to bring this well-balanced steel armor as a souvenir for Seki.

As I smoothly climbed back up to the first floor and was about to reach the town, Ussa suddenly stopped and issued a warning as she ran alongside me.

“Dear, please wait. In the large hall two blocks ahead, there are a lot of humans making a lot of noise. It doesn’t seem like a battle, though.”

Ussa extended her long rabbit ears and said so. I couldn’t hear anything, but apparently, Ussa has excellent hearing.

I see, so those ears have that advantage.

Those unnecessarily large breasts and equally long rabbit ears often get caught in the dungeon doors, which can be quite annoying.

With ears this long, it would be quite pointless if her hearing was bad.

“Hmm, it’s getting noisy… But even so, going around here would be a significant detour.”

“Shall we force our way through, dear?”

Is it a situation where we have no choice but to go forward?

It’s within expectations for students to gather on the relatively safe first floor, but getting caught up in some commotion would be a hassle.

However, there was no point in standing still here, so I nodded to Ussa and continued forward.

As we approached the large hall, I could hear the commotion of many people shouting, and even my ears could catch the noise.

Upon entering the large hall, I saw a group of about fifteen people on the left side and another group of eight on the right side, all of them arguing. They were all pointing weapons at each other, intimidating one another, and the tension was palpable.

Of course, they were all students from our school. They seemed to have a fair amount of combat strength, likely being a group of dungeon explorers.

“What the hell, school and student council? That stuff is no longer relevant! We’re fed up with your way of doing things!”

“Right now, it’s a time when everyone needs to cooperate. Aren’t we trying to return to our original world together?”

The group with the larger number of people is a fighting group led by Vice President Nanami, and on the other side is a blond guy with pronounced cheekbones wearing a steel helmet, and wielding a longsword.

Perhaps they were arguing over their strategies. I didn’t know the details, but it seemed like I had arrived at the worst possible moment.

“Wataru Shinjo isn’t that you!”

“Ah, it’s you, Shinjo-kun, where the hell have you been?”

Both Shuichi Nanami and the blonde longhair noticed us.

Another fucking hassle.

I can’t quite remember, but I think the blonde-haired guy might have been from the same F class as me.

I can’t remember his name, but he seemed to recognize my face.

“I’m just returning from an adventure on the lower floors. I want to go to town, and this doesn’t concern me, so let me through.”

As I tried to pass through the arguing group, led by the eight people under the gold-haired helmet, they surrounded me with smirks.

A burly man armed with an iron chest plate raised a large battle axe and extended his arms in front of me as if to intimidate me.

“Hey, hey, just saying ‘I want to pass’ won’t cut it!”

The gold-haired guy with the iron helmet and a sumo-sized fat man stepped forward with a mocking grin on their faces.

These guys are equipped with harder iron gear than Nanami’s group.

Presumably, they were reasonably strong. They could easily defeat the orcs on the first floor and had probably earned enough gold to invest in their equipment.

That might have made them overconfident and arrogant.

“Hey, Shinjo-kun, you came back from downstairs, so you must have some money, right?”

“Hey, Shinjo, I didn’t like you before, you’re dead!”

“Give us a share too, or better yet, let the girl you’re with entertain us!”

They shouted loudly and obnoxiously. It was so noisy that I couldn’t understand half of what they were saying. But who was that guy who had the audacity to tell me to die by name from behind?

I couldn’t stand these half-hearted guys who couldn’t even speak their minds without huddling with their buddies.

“Listen up, you bunch of losers! This backpack is filled with gold, but not a single cent of it is for you scumbags!”

I shouted at them firmly.

…Or rather, I thought these guys were really stupid. Most of them were probably from the same class as me, the class of idiots, but their behavior would leave even a prestigious school in disbelief.

I went to the trouble of telling them that I was “coming up from downstairs” so that they could estimate my abilities, and now they are acting hostile towards me.

If it were just us and the blond-haired guys in a 2-on-8 situation, I could understand their misconception that they could defeat us by sheer numbers.

But now, when they were already in conflict with Nanami’s group, which had more members than them, what did they hope to achieve by adding more enemies from the side?

The guys of blond-haired were truly not thinking. It was an unimaginable and irrational choice for them to antagonize me in this situation.

They choose that impossible choice with impunity. I can’t say anything in dismay at the unbelievably low level of incompetence.

Even though they must have experienced battles where life and death were at stake, even on the relatively easy first floor, where was their vigilance?

Did they still hold childish notions that they were unquestionably stronger than their enemies?

Is this what normal high school students are like?

Fools can’t be cured unless they die.

These fools aren’t worth killing, but if they obstruct me, I have no choice but to show them the difference in our strength.

The moment I put my hand on the hilt of my sword, I thought that I would swing my large katana and blow him away in one fell swoop.

The fat guy in front of me, who had been staring at me and intimidating me, was blown clean out of my sight. Following that, the blonde long-haired helmet guy also vanished from my view.

“What?”

In a moment that even I couldn’t react to, the boys standing in front of me were instantly blown to the wall.

Instead, Ussa stood before me with a satisfied look on her face, extending her slender legs from under her skirt and assuming a vigilant posture.

Like an arrow released from a taut bow, Ussa, who had leaped high into the air, kicked the heads of the two guys while spinning in mid-air… or so it seemed?

Even I could barely follow the speed with my eyes, but she kicked both of them away in one go.

I couldn’t even tell if she kicked them or not, partly because it was hard to see the movement of their legs due to the long apron dress skirt that was fluttering in the air.

The pretty ruffled skirt acted like an Aikido hakama, but what kung fu is this?

“It’s Usagetsu-ryu U-jinkyaku!”

They even have a martial arts school and technique name.

What kind of mysterious martial art is this?

With a swift leap, Ussa mercilessly stomped on the back of the fallen male student, wearing an expression of cold determination.

There was a sickening crunching sound,

Probably a bone somewhere in his body was shattered. This guy is seriously going to kill him if I don’t stop this.

“This guy is trying to steal from you, my dear. He’s a scoundrel, isn’t he?

“Don’t ask me that after you step on him, Ussa. Stop, don’t kill him!”

I hurriedly stopped Ussa, who was really serious about putting the finishing blow down. The group that had surrounded me seemed taken aback, despite one of their comrades being on the verge of death.

It might be an excessive defense, but maybe it’s better to be this intimidating.

It’s a preemptive strike to cut down the opponent’s fighting spirit.

It can be said that it’s quite impressive, but it leaves me with mixed feelings.

“You’re amazing, the iron armor is completely dented.”

I think the guys who were kicked to the wall by Ussa are just knocked out from the impact of their heads hitting the wall so hard. However, the blood that’s dripping from their mouths and noses might be a little bad.

If they were hit badly, they would have died normally. Without iron equipment, they would have died instantly.

It was the kind of cheap iron armor you might find in the store, hard and brittle, but it should have had the strength to withstand sword blows despite being quite heavy.

That armor had been kicked by Ussa with her foot, and it was crumpled up as if it had been hit repeatedly with a blunt instrument. If the strike is not placed properly, that kicking technique can reap a life in an instant.

The attack delivered by the petite girl with bunny ears while soaring through the air had such overwhelming force.

Both sides, who had been fighting in the hall, fell silent and watched us with bated breath.

The noise stopped, so it was all for the best.

During my time in the dungeon, I had seen Ussa as a quiet follower behind me, but now, she had demonstrated her abilities for the first time, and it sent a shiver down my spine.

“I can’t do anything else, but my warrior rank is a Low Master, a martial artist.”

Ussa said proudly as she lightly shuffled her feet on the spot, making sharp punching motions like a boxer.

Together with her long bunny ears, her ample bosom, buoyed by her apron from below, swayed generously with each motion.

How can such power come from such a petite figure and slender limbs?

It’s a game, so anything is possible.

“Master class, huh…”

Come to think of it, even Ussa was a member of the party that had reached the sixth floor.

As the vanguard in an elite group, it wouldn’t be surprising if she had reached such a rank. As a martial artist, it made sense for her to fight without weapons.

However, a girl in an apron dress in the vanguard position is too unexpected.

I had assumed that she was a magician or a monk since her attire was not suited for combat. In GenoReal, it is better not to judge a person’s ability by their appearance.

Ninjas and martial artists may prefer lighter equipment, but even so, there must be a limit to wearing an apron dress, I thought.

Anyway, thanks to the outstanding performance of the martial artist Ussa, I was able to smoothly pass through the commotion.

I didn’t feel like Ussa had stolen my moment of glory.

If I go on a rampage here, I might be caught in a tangle with those who try to put their trust in the powerful. It is better to hide my ability as much as possible to avoid trouble.

Dealing with incomprehensible creatures like Ussa the rabbit might instinctively make people think twice about causing trouble.

This time, the result was a success. Nice big titty rabbit, I praise you.

“Hey, hey you guys! Wait a minute.”

Shuichi Nanami, who has a character of not reading the air, gathered up his courage and called out to us. But I ignore him and proceed with my backpack on my back, and no one is able to hold me back as Ussa threatens with a shush and a rabbit punch that cuts through the air.

Let’s get the hell out of here. I have no use for those hanging around town anyway.

※※※

It’s been a long time since I’ve been in town. How long has it been? The sunlight shining through the glass ceiling is dazzling.

“But it’s worrying that the students are at odds with each other to this extent. I’m concerned about Seki”

“Don’t worry about me.”

Out of nowhere, Kujo Kumiko appeared.

It’s been a while since this fellow showed up, but I couldn’t sense any sign that she was approaching me.

“Could it be a hiding skill? I couldn’t detect your presence at all…”

I’m a high-ranking samurai class myself.

Hiding one’s presence so completely, even if you’re a lower-ranking ninja, your stealth skills are way too high.

“Yeah, it’s a skill like that. I became a Chūnin, so I can walk around in stealth mode now.”

“Chunin… I see.”

I replied with a nonchalant demeanor, but inwardly I was surprised. If you are a thief at the highest level or a ninja, you can use the skills of ‘walking while hiding’, which is a kind of cheat skill.

Detecting their presence is difficult until they get very close. In some cases, you might not even notice until you’re under attack.

Kumiko is a serious person, so she must have trained hard, but a chunin has this kind of irregular skill. They have no enemies on the upper floors.

That is why it is so difficult to raise a ninja, but Kumiko is too quick to rise through the ranks.

No, wait, Kumiko was a high-level ninja from the beginning, so no matter how hard it is for her to rise in rank, her experience level is different from mine.

I’ve accumulated a lot of experience, so I might be able to move up in rank.

I should go to the oracle soon.

“Anyway, I’m the one who should be worried. Wataru-kun, you’ve been missing for eight days and twenty-three hours from right in front of me!”

“I’m sorry about that.”

I’m not sorry at all, but I said that in passing.

Has it been that many days already since I dove in?

“And yet, what’s the deal with this miserable excuse for a bunny girl with unpleasant flesh dangling from her chest with Wataru-kun?”

“This one is…”

“I am Wataru-sama’s wife. What about you?”

Before I could even answer, Ussa delivered a verbal punch.

Kumiko, with a grim look on her face, her eyes squinted even more and her expression hardened, exclaimed.

“I’m Wataru-kun’s first partner!”

“What are you talking about!”

“What? I had my first kiss with Wataru-kun, we did, didn’t we? You took my first kiss away from me and I won’t let you say you forgot about it.

“Oh, I see. That’s what you mean.”

Don’t phrase it in a way that could lead to misunderstandings. It’s making me nervous.

I didn’t exactly take her first kiss; if anything, it was more like she took mine. Still, I guess it’s not entirely baseless.

I thought they were going to fight with each other, but for some reason, Ussa looked aghast.

“…I’m your wife, but you haven’t kissed me yet.”

I was caught unawares by the silliness of the situation.

Upon hearing this, Kumiko clicked her tongue irritably.

With a glare at Ussa, she pulled a kunai from her pocket and suddenly threw it at her.

The kunai flew through the air.

The blade flew toward Ussa’s ample chest, but just before hitting her, it dropped to the ground with a soft ‘plop’.

What are you doing all of a sudden, Kumiko?

I was startled, but Ussa, with a foolish look on her face, stuck out her chin and burst out laughing.

“Hahaha, you skinny, brainless human! Negative actions aren’t allowed in the town. Don’t you know that?”

“I know that you wasted meat bunny. What I just did was to warn you that I can kill you anytime I want, you five-on-the-girliness scale trash….”

Kumiko, that’s not a warning, that’s a declaration of war.

Also, don’t measure power in girliness, but combat power.

“Wait, wait, you guys, stop bickering!”

Why do I have to play the role of a timid light novel protagonist and mediate this?

I didn’t mind leaving them alone since attacks aren’t allowed in the city, but if they start killing each other inside the dungeon, that would be a problem.

“Don’t fight for my sake”~, they’re not just a timid heroine like that, but more like a wicked heroine.

Considering the extreme personalities of these stupid girls who make up for their lack of girlpower with their fighting skills, I can’t help but think they might seriously try to duel each other.

“Hey, by the way, Kumiko! Why do you have a kunai?”

I asked in order to forcefully cover up the sour mood I was in, but I was also really curious.

The kunai, the ninja’s exclusive weapon, is a much more powerful throwing weapon than a throwing knife.

Although it can be obtained on the middle floor, it is a valuable item with a low appearance rate.

It is a splendid rare item.

Speaking of which, Kumiko is wearing chainmail.

This is another lightweight, durable piece of equipment that is not sold in the city. It is such a good piece of equipment that I would like to have it myself, but this guy has too much pull with items.

“I found it in a treasure chest when I went up to the fourth floor to look for my missing Wataru-kun.”

Oh, so she’s got trap-removal skills, too, so she can scavenge treasure chests I can’t open.

How is it even possible to reach the fourth floor without knowledge of GenoReal?

No, did she get the strategy information from Fuzzy?

But still, the others are fighting on the first floor, and the difference is too much.

Could it be that Kumiko is also playing solo?

If I thought I was the strongest, it’s too annoying to find out I got surpassed by Kumiko.

“Anyway, I’m off to the oracle!”

I cut off the conversation, fed up with Ussa and Kumiko’s bickering. I don’t want to be bothered by their petty squabbling, I’m going to the oracle.

I don’t want to be below Kumiko, I don’t want to be below Kumiko…

I want to rank up, I should rank up.

I should be able to rank up too.

I arrived at the oracle, and I placed my hand on the granite as if in prayer.
