Chapter 9: Start Of An Expedition
Aurelia felt power surging through her entire being, power to shatter even Dark Lords themselves surged through her, she felt herself become as powerful as warriors of myths.
And yet she knew that it wasn't enough. Cedric was granting her so much. From protection to personal power. And yet he distanced himself from her. She had hoped that he may protect her himself.
Every time she looked at that armored heroic figure she felt herself fall more in love, her mission was not only to destroy Demi-human champions but to conquer Cedric's heart.
'Ever since that hero crashed into the demi-human army and saved my life and reputation, I couldn't avert my gaze from him,' Aurelia squirmed like a little girl as she thought about the hero.
It was the first time in her life that she truly fell in love instead of only searching for the pleasures of the flesh, She would be damned if she let such a catch like Cedric slip by her fingers.
With a deep bow, she thanked Cedric and rushed out, she did not want either Grahm or Cedric to see her so worked up.
After all, she was Aurelia Wallace, the 3rd daughter of King Fayran. Even if she had no chance of ever inheriting the throne and her sole purpose was only to be married off for some flimsy alliance, it did not matter.
No matter what she needed to prove herself worthy of being a royal, and if she could bring someone as powerful as Cedric into the family she would most certainly be regarded as a hero herself.
She blushed as she thought about creating a family with the hero, and yet she didn't even know how he looked. It did not matter to her at all, someone as powerful as that can't be bad-looking.
Aurelia bit her lip as her fantasies ran wild for a moment, fortunately, she was able to shake off her desires for now.
Perhaps if she proved herself to Cedric in this mission, just maybe he would be willing to marry her.
She smacked herself on the cheeks before walking back to the war tent.

'What a strange woman...' Cedric thought to himself as he watched Aurelia come back into the tent, her face as red as a tomato.
He chuckled for a moment before speaking. "I and Aurelia with her Angel Guards will go forward, once we are successfully inside the fort city we shall split. I will go for the Tormentor, Aurelia and her Angel squad will strike at Lord Rayn and Lady Lucious."
Aurelia was taken aback for a moment, "I thought we would strike together...", Aurelia's face darkened as she realized she won't be together with the hero.
"Yes, since you volunteered to help you will assist by killing other champions, or is this too much for you?", Cedric looked towards Aurelia.
"It is fine, I will do my best..." Aurelia sulked as she spoke in a quiet tone.
Cedric nodded before standing up, ready to leave the tent. "I will go and prepare, Aurelia I will call on you when we are to move out."
Aurelia nodded with renewed enthusiasm as she had the opportunity to at least be alone with the hero before they reached the fort city.
She heard Cedric exhale loudly before exiting the tent leaving only Aurelia and Grahm inside.
"Princess, are you sure It is wise to go? While the Hero is extremely powerful, what will we do if something happens to you?" Grahm spoke with concern clearly audible.
"Grahm, while you are my most loyal vassal, and even more dear friend I will forgive speaking as If I was powerless..." Aurelia snapped back, she had skill, she knew it. While not at the level of the hero she was still a powerful paladin.
"Forgive me, Princess. I know you will succeed in this mission." Grahm bowed as he apologized.
"It's ok, I know you are merely concerned for my safety, but..." Aurelia's mind wandered off once again, "I will be fine, I know Cedric will protect me if needed."

Cedric wished to wander around the camp before moving out, these humans were all weak even compared to the crusaders of his old world, and what was worse was they were pagan infidels.
And yet he couldn't find a place in his heart to blame them. Humanity always has suffered from demonic influence in the past and now.
But this time demons dared raise their armies in their unholy crusade against humanity, against those who were made in His image.
Humanity never would have stood a chance, well not a chance if God wasn't all-merciful. In his infinite kindness, he has forgiven their pagan worship and sent Cedric to correct what is wrong.
Once again he was assured of his place in His plan, He was here to guide humanity out of darkness and banish these armies of Satan, and perhaps it was his destiny to put an end to The Devil himself, but he dared not wish for too much.
His gaze washed over the human army, most stared at him like they saw a ghost, while others looked with almost divine reverence.
He smiled and yet his face was completely hidden. 'Perhaps those who revere me only need a little push in the right direction.'
With open palm, Cedric activated [Create Holy Scripture] creating 10 Bibles in his hand, perfectly translated in this World's tongue.
'I knew this would be useful, after all, God wouldn't have granted me a skill like this for nothing.' Cedric approached a group of younger soldiers, their eyes full of admiration.
The slightly older soldier stood up and saluted shortly followed by others, "Honor to be in your presence, great hero!"
<
Their stats were similar, and yet classes and age were the only real difference between them, perhaps a group of outcasts, but what surprised Cedric was that they had no Pagan patron. They were in the perfect position to accept God.
Their bodies shook as they were in the presence of such a mighty figure.
"Be at ease, Soldiers. I have a gift for you, You will certainly find it useful."
Each member of the group took a book from Cedric, their eyes glinting in admiration.
"Read it. No not only read but feel and embrace the teachings in this book. And once true faith has revealed itself to you I will guide you into a better tomorrow!"
Young soldiers dared not speak as they accepted the gift, not only were books usually insanely expensive they were almost exclusive for nobility, and yet despite not being able to read they were shocked to understand everything as they opened the book, it was like words themselves spoke to them.
"I must be going, Seek me out If you wish to know more about God." Cedric waved to the soldiers before he left.
'I hope they will embrace the teachings.' Cedric chuckled as he made his way back to the War Tent, It was about time to show demons what it means to bare their fangs at God's Children.
