Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

Chapter 47: Chapter 47: The Power of Fusion

Chapter 47: The Power of Fusion

Sensing Aunty Ling's change of expression, Lin Langtian paused in his post-breakthrough joy. Following her gaze, he noticed that her attention was locked on the Golden Spirit Mirror within his dantian.

After a brief silence, he carefully asked, "Aunty Ling, what's wrong?"

For a long moment, the Nine Nether Flame Sparrow said nothing, but the shock lingering in her gaze confirmed Lin Langtian hadn't imagined her reaction. Finally, she looked back at the Golden Spirit Mirror, her eyes unreadable.

"This golden mirror… where did you find it?"

Lin Langtian's heart skipped a beat; it seemed this Golden Spirit Mirror was indeed significant to her! On the one hand, he was thrilled. If this mirror attracted the interest of such a powerful being, it had to be a remarkable treasure. But on the other hand, he worried. What if Aunty Ling claimed it for herself? He could lose it entirely.

After weighing his options, Lin Langtian decided to be honest and told her the full story of how he'd found the mirror and the changes it had undergone since then. In his view, hiding things from Aunty Ling, with whom he shared a blood connection, wouldn't help. Complete transparency, he thought, would serve him better in the long run.

After hearing his story, Aunty Ling fell silent, her gaze still on the mirror. Eventually, she looked at him and sighed.

"I should have known... This mirror, the most powerful artifact on Lan Cang Continent, proved impossible to destroy. Even after that devastating explosion, a fragment survived and somehow ended up here with me in this new world." Her voice softened. "It seems that the very item I fought so hard for with the Ancient Sky Hawk fell into your hands by chance."

Lin Langtian's gaze shifted, his emotions swirling. After some hesitation, he steeled himself and offered, "Aunty Ling, if this mirror is important to you, I'll return it."

Though he valued the Golden Spirit Mirror, it was a lifeless object, while Aunty Ling was a powerful ally and his best chance at reaching new heights. Comparing the two, Lin Langtian saw no contest.

"Oh? Are you certain? Do you even know what this mirror can do?" Aunty Ling asked, her eyes probing.

"I may not fully understand its uses," Lin Langtian admitted with a respectful nod, "but I know it's a rare treasure. Even so, it doesn't compare to you, Aunty Ling."

"Well," Aunty Ling chuckled softly. "You're an interesting young man. Even among the youth in my tribe, few could resist such a temptation." Her gaze softened slightly as she regarded him, impressed by his resolve.

"But since my physical form is long gone, it's of no real use to me now," she finally relented. "And since it has recognized you as its master, I won't take it from you. Treat it well, though. I'll expect you to make the most of it."

Stunned, Lin Langtian felt a rush of excitement and gratitude. "Thank you, Aunty Ling!"

"There's no need for thanks. Whether or not you can unlock the mirror's full potential depends on your own strength," she replied, her tone even. "If you fail to live up to it, I'll simply take it back."

"I understand, Aunty Ling, and I won't disappoint you," Lin Langtian assured her, though he couldn't resist asking, "This mirror… does it have a specific name, or any powers I should know about?"

A treasure as valuable as the Golden Spirit Mirror, he knew, was unlikely to be a simple object. And he was anxious to unlock all it could do.

"'Golden Spirit Mirror' is an apt name," Aunty Ling replied thoughtfully. "As for its original name, it's been lost through the ages. Since it now belongs to you, let it bear the name you've chosen." She paused, as though considering what to reveal. "I won't spoil all of its secrets—those will come to you as you and the mirror grow together."

"But I can tell you this: the mirror possesses a unique power—the power of fusion. Across this vast, boundless universe, countless realms have their own methods and systems of cultivation. This mirror can merge different types of energy, fusing them into a single, powerful force."

"Fusion power?" Lin Langtian's eyes widened in astonishment. This feature alone reminded him of an artifact ranked fifth among the Ten Great Artifacts on Tianxuan Continent: the Ancient Qian-Kun Formation Disk!

In his past life, Lin Dong had stumbled upon a mysterious meditation mat and acquired the formation disk within it. The disk enabled him to fuse his Yuan Power, spiritual power, and Devouring Power, giving him incredible abilities in battle. Lin Langtian, too, possessed Yuan Power, spiritual power, and even the black flame power. But he had no way to merge them until now.

Yet here was this mirror, with the same ability—perhaps even surpassing that of the Ancient Qian-Kun Formation Disk. Lin Langtian could hardly contain his excitement.

Seeing his elation, Aunty Ling interrupted, "Don't get ahead of yourself. The mirror still has a long way to go before it regains its former strength."

Her words calmed him somewhat. Lin Langtian had known his kingdom was remote, even within this continent's vast expanse.

"Thank you for your guidance, Aunty Ling," he replied, unshaken. "I'll strive to make my mark beyond even the Da Yan Kingdom."

Seeing his steady gaze, Aunty Ling nodded in approval. "Since we're now bound together, here's a little gift for you."

With that, a beam of dark energy shot from her brow, piercing the shadows around them and revealing a figure of unparalleled strength, floating before him.

Lin Langtian's gaze fell on the dark flame, and within it, he could make out a four-character phrase inscribed at its core.

"Black Flame Physique!"
