Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

Chapter 46: Chapter 46: Ling Aunty Awakens

Chapter 46: Ling Aunty Awakens

"Boom!"

Just after Lin Langtian entered the cave, the massive dark sphere in front of him began to expand violently. Within it, the shadow of the enormous Ancient Dragon Ape also seemed to grow larger, thrashing furiously. The spirit of the Ancient Dragon Ape appeared to sense an intruder, someone with ill intentions. Instantly, it let out a barrage of dark energy beams aimed directly at Lin Langtian.

Lin Langtian paused, caught off guard, but quickly summoned his internal energy to form a powerful energy palm that clashed directly with the incoming dark beams.

"Boom!"

The impact sent waves of power across the cave, shaking the walls and causing rocks to fall from the ceiling.

"Not bad for a Nirvana-level beast," Lin Langtian muttered, steadying himself after being forced back several steps. He could feel the immense destructive force behind each strike. "Even though this Ancient Dragon Ape is just a spirit now, its power isn't much weaker than it was in its prime. It might even be stronger."

Initially, he thought capturing the spirit would be a straightforward task, but he could now see it was going to be much more challenging. If the spirit somehow managed to escape, he would lose a rare Nirvana-level beast spirit.

"Alright, young one, you've done well. Leave the rest to me!"

As Lin Langtian contemplated his next move, the voice of the Nine Nether Flame Sparrow, his so-called "Aunty Ling," echoed through his mind.

"Trill!"

At that moment, a piercing call resounded from deep within him, and at the sound, the shadowy spirit of the Ancient Dragon Ape flinched in fear.

"Swoosh!"

Two beams of black flame shot out from Lin Langtian's eyes, streaking across the air and shattering the dark energy sphere containing the Ancient Dragon Ape's spirit.

"Roar!"

With its protective barrier broken, the spirit of the Ancient Dragon Ape let out an enraged roar, releasing a powerful wave of energy that reverberated throughout the cave.

The now-exposed spirit was a massive, semi-translucent ape, its ghostly form retaining much of its previous intimidating size.

"Foolish beast!" Aunty Ling's voice echoed through Lin Langtian's mind with icy disdain. "You dare resist while the noble Nine Nether Flame Sparrow is about to consume you? You're courting death!"

Frustrated with the spirit's stubborn resistance, Aunty Ling directed a torrent of thick black flames to pour from Lin Langtian's body, forming a colossal shape above him. Lin Langtian could only see faint outlines through the flames, but he realized it was a massively enlarged version of the Nine Nether Flame Sparrow itself.

"Trill!"

The towering form of the Flame Sparrow let out a fierce screech, emitting a terrifying, oppressive aura that seemed to shake even the heavens. The Ancient Dragon Ape spirit, despite its innate dragon bloodline, trembled in fear.

"Submit!"

The colossal black-flame sparrow extended a razor-sharp claw, crashing down on the ape spirit. The spirit wailed in agony, shrinking into a streak of black light as it was devoured by the flaming sparrow in a single gulp.

Just as the ape spirit was consumed, the Flame Sparrow's shadow above Lin Langtian dissolved into a haze.

"Did it work?" Lin Langtian murmured in amazement. Gathering his focus, he sent his consciousness into his dantian, where he could feel Aunty Ling fully awake now, her eyes open and looking at him with a rare hint of approval.

"This Ancient Dragon Ape was quite a find, especially for a backwater place like this," said Aunty Ling, the Nine Nether Flame Sparrow. "It seems you haven't slacked off. I'll consider this a favor you've done for me."

Lin Langtian paused, surprised. Aunty Ling seemed unexpectedly reasonable, showing none of the arrogance he might have expected from a creature of her stature. It made his recent efforts seem worthwhile. Relaxing a little, he smiled and replied, "No need to be so formal, Aunty Ling. We're connected by blood, bound as one. Your matters are my matters too."

"Hmm..." Aunty Ling nodded indifferently, clearly not wanting to linger on the topic of their blood connection. "The Ancient Dragon Ape's spirit no longer has its original consciousness. We should refine its energy now. Most of it will go to me; you couldn't handle that much power anyway."

"Of course," Lin Langtian agreed without hesitation.

The energy contained in the spirit of an Ancient Dragon Ape, comparable to a Nirvana-level human expert, was immense. Even if most of it went to Aunty Ling, he knew the small portion he absorbed would bring great benefits. If he tried to consume it all himself, it would likely overwhelm him.

"Buzz, buzz!"

With Lin Langtian's approval, a powerful stream of energy began to pour from his dantian, channeled and controlled by Aunty Ling. Lin Langtian's hands formed seals, steadily absorbing the released energy.

As his inner core spun, the energy from the Ancient Dragon Ape's spirit was gradually absorbed into it.

"Boom!"

After some time, a low rumble echoed through Lin Langtian's body. His closed eyes snapped open, revealing a fierce black flame that flickered within them.

"Bang!"

An invisible shockwave exploded from his body, shattering nearby stones into dust and creating thick cracks along the cave walls.

"Ahhh..." Lin Langtian exhaled slowly, feeling the newfound power spreading through him, far stronger than before.

"I've reached Qi Formation Stage!" he exclaimed with satisfaction.

In his dantian, Aunty Ling glanced over at him, indifferent. But as her gaze shifted slightly, she caught sight of the golden mirror nestled in the corner of his dantian. Her calm expression flickered with shock.

Staring intently at the mirror, her usually composed, deep eyes showed a rare moment of surprise.

"That item... How can it be here? Wasn't it supposed to have been destroyed?"
