Wizard Lord:I can Extract Anything

Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Pioneer Civilization

In a corner of the storeroom lay a crystal card, silently resting on a shelf.

The card bore many scratches and wear, with significant portions missing. However, Richard could tell that it was not a product crafted by wizards.

Upon picking it up, the Miracle Furnace immediately relayed a message.

[Material: Unknown Crystal Chip]

[Extractable Information: Primary Biological Creation Technology (Severely Fragmented)]

[Extraction Cost: Forty Mental Strength]

Richard's pupils contracted instantly upon seeing the information.

"Primary Biological... Creation?"

Creating life is not the same as crafting synthetic beasts. True life must possess stable heredity, autonomous growth, and the ability to reproduce—three fundamental characteristics. Synthetic beasts cannot grow or reproduce independently, let alone establish stable heredity.

In the Alchemy School, creating life is an ambitious goal, one that countless wizards have pursued their entire lives without making progress.

"Ulysses, have you ever seen anything like this?" Richard asked softly.

His voice trembled slightly. The implications of the chip's information were terrifying. If a civilization possessed biological creation technology, could wizards be their creations?

Could the wizard world be their cultivation garden, and the wizards' conquest of worlds be nothing more than a staged play?

Ulysses glanced at the crystal chip. "Caw, what's this? Never seen it before."

Richard took a deep breath, working to calm himself.

"Ulysses, do you think it's possible that we were created by someone rather than evolved from natural life?"

Ulysses seemed puzzled. "Caw, what kind of nonsense are you talking about? Creating life isn't that unusual, is it?"

"Hmm?"

Richard was taken aback, then pressed urgently, "You're sure about creating life? From nothing, creating life that can stably reproduce, inherit, and grow?"

"Caw, I haven't told you this before. Many of the races in the Gods' civilization were created by the Titan civilization, which has long vanished into the annals of history."

Ulysses's response left Richard stunned. He suddenly recalled that even in his previous life, humans weren't Earth's first life forms.

"Tell me more about this."

"Caw, your wizard civilization's higher-ups should already know this," Ulysses said, flying closer to Richard. "Take the Titan civilization, for example.

According to the Gods' civilization, it's called a Pioneer Civilization. That is, it was once a civilization but is now extinct, vanished, or regressed.

Such civilizations are widespread across world clusters. Every civilization the Gods' civilization encounters bears traces of a Pioneer Civilization."

Ulysses's words were like a thunderclap to Richard, shattering some of his ingrained beliefs.

His previous life's experiences led him to think that a civilization's emergence required billions of years of evolution from primitive life. But in this world, perhaps civilization wasn't so hard to come by.

"Caw, do you have any more questions?"

Regaining his composure, Richard shook his head and pocketed the crystal chip.

"No more questions."

Since Pioneer Civilizations were common, Richard felt a sense of relief.

...

Leaving the Blackstone Mountains, Richard returned to the Academy and selectively reported the wizard relic in the mountains. The Academy didn't demand Richard turn over his findings, as he was part of the Academy, and the benefits weren't lost to outsiders.

Richard then halved the Steel of Secrets and gave it to Jolord, asking him to see if any society members were interested.

Though precious, the Steel of Secrets wasn't immensely useful to Richard, who didn't specialize in alchemical machinery. Keeping half for potential upgrades to the alchemical golem was enough.

Beyond this, Richard had another reason to sell the Steel of Secrets—he was in desperate need of magic stones.

The Body Adaptation was a resource guzzler, and with the alchemical golem now in his possession, modifying it would require significant magic stones for foundational knowledge in alchemical machinery, followed by another expenditure for the modifications.

His magical equipment, sufficient during his apprenticeship, was inadequate as a wizard. Upgrading it was another expense.

Additionally, Richard's bloodline alchemy was incomplete, and purchasing the necessary bloodlines was yet another cost.

These all required money.

Afterward, Richard returned to the Tower of Truth.

Back in his wizard tower, Richard immersed himself in the lab, extracting information from the chip.

Instantly, the familiar sensation of a sledgehammer striking his head hit him again. Despite his spiritual strength's qualitative change since becoming a wizard, this was the first time he'd felt it.

Once the extraction was complete, Richard absorbed the white glow. Instantly, millions of words flooded his mind, nearly causing his brain to crash.

Fortunately, decades of meditation had increased his mental strength to fifty-five, and the remaining strength helped him endure.

After receiving the massive influx of information, Richard began organizing it.

The extracted information was fragmented, with much lacking context and necessary annotations, rendering it mostly unusable.

Even so, the insights Richard could piece together acted as a key, opening the door to a new world of knowledge for him.

He recorded this information in Chinese to prevent theft.

Organizing the data took Richard nearly half a month, during which he worked tirelessly.

Afterward, Richard collapsed into a chair, his face filled with happiness.

Of the thirty thousand useful words from the Pioneer Civilization's remnants, even this small amount significantly advanced his understanding of bloodlines and cells. The foundational knowledge provided him with a solid base for future research in these areas.

Rubbing his temples, Richard thought, "Pioneer Civilization... I'll need to keep an eye out for information on this. If this damaged chip holds such value, I can't imagine how valuable an intact one would be."

Three months later, Jolord visited the Tower of Truth.

"You're in luck. A society member has been searching for Steel of Secrets for over three hundred years. This piece resolved his problem."

He handed Richard a bag of magic essences.

Richard's mental strength swept over it, counting 220 magic essences, twenty more than the market price, or the equivalent of 20,000 magic stones.

"Thank you, teacher."

With that, Richard took twenty magic essences from the bag and gave them to Jolord.

Jolord frowned. "What's this for?"

Richard replied calmly, "For all your work with the guild over the years, I can't help much, but I can at least offer magic stones."

Jolord's expression softened. "The Wizard Guild's progress has been slow. I'm looking for suitable potion formulas."

"Thank you for your efforts."

After seeing Jolord off, Richard headed straight to the commercial layer of the Tower of Truth.

With the Pioneer knowledge, Richard decided to complete his bloodline alchemy formula.

During his apprenticeship, Richard only completed two bloodline alchemies. The third remained unfinished due to the rarity of the required bloodlines, unavailable even at the guilds within Black Tower Wizard Academy.

However, the commercial layer of the Tower of Truth housed all wizard guilds' shops, making it relatively easy to find the necessary bloodlines.

After searching, Richard finally found the remaining two bloodlines and a nectar rich in life energy at a renowned Wizard Guild, Seven Stars.

"Seventy magic essences, thank you for your patronage."

The shopkeeper handed Richard the quartz tubes containing the bloodlines and a ten-pound jar of honey.

The honey was for nurturing the Holy Tree Spirits. Richard had tried various types of honey before, but none were effective, offering limited growth benefits for the spirits.

According to Tuft, the Holy Tree Spirits had their cultivation methods, but these were monopolized by the nobility.

Thus, Richard relied on honey for sustenance, hoping its energy would facilitate their growth.

On his way back to the wizard tower, Richard passed the eleventh residential layer, where a group of wizards was constructing a massive building resembling an ancient Roman amphitheater.

The wizards building the arena appeared incredibly robust, their life force almost tangible.

Curious, Richard approached and asked a question. A bald wizard in a white robe enthusiastically responded.

"Friend, we're building an arena."

"An arena? For otherworldly slave battles?"

The bald wizard shook his head. "What's so interesting about slave fights? We're going to have wizards duel!"

"Wizards dueling?" Richard was taken aback. What wizard would engage in such a trivial pursuit?

"Indeed, friend, you seem to follow the path of physicality. Haven't you ever felt your hands itch for a fight? That's your body craving battle." The bald wizard patted Richard, a powerful force hitting his shoulder.

Richard's expression remained unchanged as he instantly activated his bloodline, his shoulder and arm muscles swelling to withstand the force.

"Hmm? Impressive control over flesh and blood."

The bald wizard was astonished. As a wizard specializing in physique, Richard's demonstration amazed him.

"Friend, would you like to join our Garon Club? The club consists of wizards deeply versed in physicality and flesh, with extensive research in these areas," he said excitedly.

Richard was unsure of the situation. "Garon Club? Is it a society? I've already joined one."

"No, no, clubs are clubs, societies are societies," the bald wizard explained. "A club is a gathering place for like-minded wizards, with no private nature."

He then pulled a metal card from his magic pouch and handed it to Richard.

"This is our club's card. If you're interested, feel free to join us.
