When a God of Destruction Was Reincarnated in Tensura:

Chapter 54: Naming

During the night after the battle, Rimuru invited the direwolves to stay within the Goblin village. While the Goblins were initially hesitant, Rimuru's commanding presence reassured them that there would be no further violence.

As the village fell into a quiet slumber, Rimuru, who did not require sleep, sat near the fire, lost in thought.

"Great Sage," Rimuru began internally, "are there other groups of intelligent monsters nearby that we could bring into the fold? If we're going to build something meaningful, we need to expand."

Great Sage responded, "Affirmative. There is a group of Ogres located deeper within the forest. They are an intelligent and powerful race, though they tend to be wary of outsiders."

"Ogres, huh? Sounds like a good addition to our growing crew. Let's keep them in mind," Rimuru said, his gaze thoughtful.

The rest of the night was spent simulating battles in his mind. Using Great Sage's computational abilities, Rimuru practiced strategies and refined his combat techniques, determined to grow stronger while planning for the future.

The Next Morning

As the sun rose over the forest, Rimuru gathered the Goblins and the direwolves in the center of the village. The two groups were still visibly uneasy around each other. The Goblins were nervous, their memories of the direwolves' attacks still fresh, while the direwolves stood quietly, their respect for Rimuru keeping them in check.

Rimuru stood before them, his aura calm yet commanding. "Listen up, everyone. From this day forward, we are one. The Goblins and the direwolves will work together under me. There will be no more division, no more hostility. Got it?"

The Goblins exchanged nervous glances. One young Goblin raised his hand hesitantly. "But... great one, the direwolves... they killed our people. How can we trust them?"

Rimuru sighed. He understood their fear but needed to establish unity. "I know what they did, but that was before. Now, they serve me just like you do. If any of you still have doubts, remember this: you all belong to me now. That means no fighting among yourselves. If anyone has a problem, they come to me directly. Is that clear?"

"Yes, great one!" the Goblins and direwolves replied in unison, though the Goblins' voices carried some hesitation.

To further solidify their bond, Rimuru continued, "Since all of you serve me, I'm guessing none of you have names, right?"

The crowd went silent, their eyes wide with anticipation.

Rimuru smiled. "Well then, I'll fix that. I'll give you all names."

The Goblins erupted into cheers, their excitement overwhelming their fears. Even the direwolves seemed to perk up, tails wagging slightly.

The elder Goblin stepped forward, concern etched on his face. "Great one, naming monsters is a great honor, but... it is also dangerous. Naming consumes your magicules. If you name too many at once, it could—"

Rimuru interrupted with a wave of his hand. "I know the risks, but it'll be fine. I've got plenty of magicules to spare."

The elder hesitated but eventually nodded. "As you wish, great one."

The night prior, Rimuru and Great Sage had already formulated a plan for naming. Great Sage had advised Rimuru to name a small number of monsters each day to avoid exhausting his magicule reserves.

Rimuru began by addressing the elder Goblin. "Elder, what was the name of your son who died protecting this village?"

The elder's face softened with sadness and pride. "His name was Rigur."

Rimuru nodded. "From this day forward, you shall be known as Rigurd, in honor of your son."

The elder, now Rigurd, bowed deeply, tears in his eyes. "Thank you, great one. I will serve you with all my strength."

Next, Rimuru turned to the direwolf leader, the one who had submitted to him after the battle. "As for you, from this day forward, you shall be called Ranga."

Ranga lowered his head in gratitude. "Thank you, master. I will follow you to the ends of this forest."

As soon as Ranga was named, a strange phenomenon occurred. The rest of the direwolves began glowing faintly, and Rimuru sensed a connection forming between them. Great Sage explained, "Due to their pack mentality, naming the alpha automatically names the rest of the pack as extensions of him. They now share a collective identity under the name Ranga."

Rimuru smirked. Well, that saves me some trouble.

He then proceeded to name 20 of the Goblins. Each time a Goblin received a name, they glowed brightly, their bodies growing taller and more muscular, their features sharpening. The transformation left the Goblins astonished and filled with newfound energy.

One young Goblin, now named Gobta, looked at his hands in awe. "Wow! I feel... so strong! Thank you, great one!"

Rimuru chuckled. "Don't get too cocky, Gobta. You've still got a lot to learn."

As the process continued, the village became a flurry of excitement. The direwolves and Goblins, now bound by their shared loyalty to Rimuru, began to interact more comfortably.

By the time Rimuru finished naming for the day, he was feeling slightly drained but satisfied. He looked out at his growing village, a sense of pride swelling in his chest. This is just the beginning. Together, we'll build something amazing.
