Chapter 550: The Hurtling Lightning Bolt
Once Wu Kuang and I appeared, Smiles took note of Wu Kuang. "So, it seems it's about that time then." Smiles said, with a concerned grin.
"That's right… So while I prepare for this, I'll have to ask all of you to remain still or leave…" I said, and then Smiles just put everyone in her small universe… "That works too, I guess." I chuckled.
"Yeah, It's best no one is near you for this. At least that's the sense I got from you when you started." Smiles said, waving as she made distance between us.
"Well then, here we go." I said with a big stretch. "Wu Kuang. You will be wrapped in a protective barrier. It should be able to handle just about anything that could be in your way. However, you shouldn't let your guard down. If you understand, then prepare yourself." I added.
"Brat, are you sure you're able to send me all the way there?" Wu Kuang asked.
"At this point, asking me such a question is just plain stupid. And I'm going to show you why." I said, as I released quite a bit of my pressure. "Now then, are you ready?" I asked, with narrowed eyes.
At that moment, Wu Kuang stopped seeing a Brat. He saw something he could no longer fathom and gulped. His face turned to one full of distress for the splitest of moments and then relaxed, now certain of his safety on the trip. Though he wasn't so foolish as to not prepare to defend himself in the event such a need arose.
The devouring of the Ink Giant Spirit God's body completed in an instant, demonstrating that I had deliberately gone slow for the sake of others growth. But now, now it was time to use a sizable portion of the energy it contained. A thundering sphere of temporal lightning encased Wu Kuang, who was currently in a hyper focused state.
The next moment, a lightning bolt the size of several thousand universe worlds shot out from the sphere, careening towards the gate connecting to the No-Return Pass. Passing the No-Return Pass in less than an instant's worth of time, measuring by breaths would be utterly pointless as it took essentially what amounted to no time at all.
"Damn that was fast, I almost cracked my neck trying to keep up with its speed." The Dragon Emperor murmured softly.
"Thankfully I'm not the only one to feel that way… I hope whoever is flying in that thing protects themselves properly…" The Phoenix Empress added in a similarly soft murmur.
"Heh, that Leiji wouldn't do something so crazy without protecting the passenger properly." The Dragon Emperor chuckled lightly.
Inside the bolt of lightning, Wu Kuang was holding a bucket in front of him. Some sloshing sounds came from the bucket… Wu Kuang's face was both pale and green at the same time. "Damn brat… You could have said I was going to throw up every meal I've ever eaten in my life… Well, aside from the ones I fully refined, that is… Oh god here it comes… Bluragah… Disgusting." He grumbled to himself as he simply braced for another vomiting session. "Then again, it's not like we don't remove impurities from our bodies this way, it's natural." He muttered, wiping his mouth.
The Lightning Bolt split the Ink Force infested void like a hot knife through butter. Consuming and refining the energy into a continuous fuel source. Which slightly aided in stabilizing the bumpy ride. The streak it left behind was obvious and persisted for several moments until the path eventually was reclaimed by the ink force once again.
~ Great Evolution Pass ~
The Royal Lord sitting here on a throne, built through careful selection of bones from the defeated human race soldiers, had a sudden and chilling feeling running down his spine. "YOU GIVE ME A REPORT!" He hurriedly ordered.
"Sir Royal Lord! Everything is operating as normal. The Ink Nest is producing a great many clansmen. And the rapid fusing of clansmen is going on without a hitch." A relatively inexperienced Territory Lord answered.
"That's excellent news, but not what I mean. What is this chilling sensation I got just now…" The Royal Lord acknowledged now even more worried. He looked at the brand new 9th rank open heaven ink disciple. "How about you… Did you feel it?" He asked.
"Is Sir Royal Lord referring to that chill down my spine?" The inked 9th rank returned a mildly scared look along with his question. "It feels like a massive pain is heading straight for us… That aside, the other ink disciples are rapidly improving. I suspect we will have about 10 more successful breakthroughs." He continued.
"Ah, yes… You come with me to check this out. I'm afraid I may not be enough to handle it if it comes down to a fight. A little support would go a long way." The Royal Lord reluctantly said, standing up and preparing to leave the hall.
"As you wish, Sir Royal Lord. I shall do everything in my power to assist you." The 9th rank ink disciple bowed and then followed after the Royal Lord.
The Royal Lord and the 9th rank ink disciple floated above the pass staring in the direction the feeling was coming from. Both of them shivered, and then it appeared. It was like the sun splitting the night, only with extreme prejudice. It was no sooner they saw it, that they instinctively dodged… Or rather tried…
"AH! Fuck! That hurts!" The Royal Lord exclaimed in pure agony. Then looked over to see that the ink disciple had lost an arm and completely lost consciousness. "What the hell was that? Lightning? Ah damn it! I need to go and recover my strength… I feel like my strength is no better than a Territory lord's at the moment. And he might be in an even worse position than I…" He added, grabbing the ink disciple and left directly for the Ink Nest. "I also have to report this to the Supreme Master at once. I'm afraid only he possesses the strength needed to deal with such a thing." He continued before landing and entering the nest.
