Wang An Leiji (Yang Leiji) (What If I Was In Martial Peak)

Wu Kuang looked at the method he was given with wide eyes. And for a moment he felt like he had been cheated out of his legendary treasure. So his eyes turned to me once again. "This method is fantastic, but it doesn't seem like too big of a difference from my original method…" He said, in a mildly frustrated tone. Though I could see through it. 

"Wu Kuang, you are free to believe what you wish. However, I suggest learning the method first. Because, it is with that very same method that Cang has survived all this time. And if you recall, there is only one Stainless Pure Lotus… So how does he manage to devour Ink Force and manage to remain of sound mind and body?" I explained, posing the question to Wu Kuang making sure my eyes carried just the right amount of intensity. 

"Hmm, if I had to guess it is the World Tree Subtree he has." Wu Kuang answered, remembering that such a divine treasure repaired the Star Boundary with extremely little effort. "But that wouldn't be enough to explain the evil not corroding…" He continued, then looked in his hand at the method and began studying it more closely. "I see now… With this anything can be eaten…" He mentioned, as his eyes widened and gave a demonstration of the small change he had just made. 

"Good, now you understand at least half the right answer. I'll reward you with the rest… The Subtree that Cang has, is only there to prevent his cultivation from corroding under the Ink Force. It has absolutely zero effect on the devouring technique." I explained with a smirk. 

"And here I thought it would need support." Wu Kuang murmured, continuing his studying. 

"And why is that? It is a Heaven-Defying method capable of ignoring the 2 rank limit." I chuckled. "Usually, such things don't really require aid from something else." I added.

"Then, that just leaves the matter of acquiring the subtree for myself…" Wu Kuang said, continuing to make adjustments to his method, the sense of evil from it was rapidly transforming into a sense entirely opposite. 

"You already have something in your possession that is comparable to the effects the subtree would give you." Yang Kai said with a straight face. "The only part of this Mortal Coil that is weaker in, is the foundation and growth potential of the life forms within. Aside from that, it's as good if not slightly better in some ways." He added, after a thorough inspection of the Mortal Coil. 

Wu Kuang, hearing what Yang Kai said, took his Mortal Coil and began refining it at that very moment. For someone who was currently in the 8th rank, refining this Mortal Coil was significantly easier than for the 6th ranks prior. A large part of the reason why was due to Wu Kuang not instantly going through a rank promotion baptism at the same time. So it only took him a few hours to complete this refinement. 

"Damn, this is… Amazing." Wu Kuang noted immediately after he was done. "Mind if I try that same thing again?" He asked. 

I nodded and pulled a single strand of ink force up. Wu Kuang, activated his brand new upgraded version of the Heaven Devouring Battle Law. And unlike the time before, he remained perfectly fine. It was so effective that even he was surprised by the change. 

"I may have lost the Lotus, but… Now that I think about it, it seems like it was actually restricting my growth. Before this, I would have taken several days to absorb that single strand. But this was instant. And I feel like there wasn't any loss." Wu Kuang explained in a restrained excitement. It had been quite a while since he felt this level of enthusiasm but he also didn't want to let loose in front of his juniors. 

"No, I wouldn't say that it restricted your growth. At least not really. Beforehand it was helpful to you, but the amount of aid it could give you was limited. You had simply outgrown it. Which is saying something since I got a good look at that Lotus… It is definitely above the 9th rank level of artifact. A creation level artifact most likely. Where in that realm, I've got no clue, but it is definitely beyond the open heaven method." I explained with a sigh. "I got the sense from it that had I had it, and the other Lotus at the onset of my journey… I might have needed the open heaven method at all. Hell I might have needed anything more than those two things." I continued. 

Yang Kai had been refining the Lotus up until now, finishing the process. The rush he got from it was nothing to scoff at. "Wow, this… Son, you might have been right. I don't think one would need the open heaven method if they had both of these Lotuses. I feel like they could break through directly to the creation realm if given enough time." He said, stretching and getting used to the new effects on his body. 

"So, my initial thought seems like it was accurate." I said, getting a sense of the feeling Yang Kai had at the moment. For an improvement of his physique to happen, even now was nothing to scoff at. "If nothing else, the open Heaven method would be an easy way to ensure one remains hidden… Since together the pair of them can definitely shatter the limits of the open heaven method." I added. 

"Oh, if there were any doubts before, I certainly wouldn't have them any longer. This is already a stronger effect than all the effort it took to master the power of fate." Yang Kai chuckled nervously. "I'm going to refine this coil now. I wonder how it will affect everything else." He added. 

"You do that. And Wu Kuang, continue to study that updated method. Once you've mastered it let me know. Because I'll be sending you to meet Cang directly after you complete it." I instructed. "In the meantime, I need to refine more of these Mortal Coils. I think I'll try 9 at once this time." I continued, as I brought out enough of the needed resources to accomplish this feat.
