Unlasting World

Everyone watched in amazement and even cheered louder when Arfius activates it. The commentator became crazy with her words to the point that it's nonsensical.

Meanwhile, a simple grin formed on my face.

"Then let us begin again."

Arfius dashed forward, twice as fast as he was before. Alden stepped back at high speed and activated his lightning trap he had forged on the ground. The runes of lightning brightened as a thunderous strike came out of the ground, striking Arfius when he stepped on it.

A thunder trap. That's really cool.

"Heh! You will need more than that to damage me."

Arfius laughed as he stepped out of the smoke, but Alden suddenly dashed forward and punched Arfius.

Unfortunately, Arfius wasn't as slow as before. He lifted his hand and grabbed Alden's fist, stopping the force of his punch completely.

"Nice try, but you can't outstand me-"

BARRR!!!

Arfius got thrown back and quickly fixed his balance. A part on his hand was burned slightly from the explosion that threw him back, and his gaze was more interested in the person walking out of the smoke.

Alden walked out, showing his fist. He had planted a lightning trap on his own hand when he threw the punch. And what's funny, was that he managed to damage his own hand in the process.

"Y-You damaged your own hand?"

"It's a payment for the damage I have done on you."

Arfius is now sure he is fighting a mad man. Alden dashed forward again, but this time he moved even faster… faster than Arfius' eyes.

"What-!?"

Arfius quickly closed his arms to block Alden's kick, but then a bright light could be seen on his foot. He also enchanted his boots with the lightning trap.

Arfius jumped back, and Alden grinned.

He quickly formed a lightning strike on his hand and shot towards Arfius. The lightning strike was not stopped by anything and managed to hit Arfius spot on.

Arfius got thrown to the ground due to the stunning explosion.

"Tch! Wh--!?"

"I knew you would think that I enchanted my boots. Do you think I would damage myself again like that?"

Alden dashed forward again and Arfius quickly went back up. Alden threw some powerful punches and pushed Arfius back.

As his final attack, he threw a kick with the same foot and Arfius blocked it with one hand, right next to his face.

A grin formed on Alden's face as the boots glowed up. He actually did put up a lightning trap on his boots. And thanks to fooling Arfius, he managed to get his boots up close to Arfius's face.

The boots exploded right next to Arfius's face.

BAARR!!!!

"N-No way! Did he damage Arfius that far!?"

"That's insane!!"

The crowd went wild when the dust cleared. Arfius's left side of the face is charred as his head bleeds. His left arm is in an even worse condition.

Alden got thrown away from the explosion, and his feet are now shoe-less and showing the charred skin.

"You… are insane…"

"And you are a monster, but we both do what we do. Right?"

Alden showed a grin as he dashed forward again. With one leg damaged, his speed decreased quite a bunch, and Arfius can see his movements pretty normally.

When Alden threw a punch at his face, Arfius lifted his right hand and exploded his wind magic, causing the entire radius turning into a tornado.

Alden obviously got caught in it, and he is being flown around by the wind force. Arfius stopped the tornado and let Alden fall to the ground. When Alden tries to get up, Arfius is already in his face.

"Thank you for trying, but this is where you end."

With a single attack enchanted with ice and lightning magic, a large explosion occurred on Alden's chest and threw him far back, towards the walls. He landed on the wall, forming a crater, and was unconscious.

"Winner, Arfiussss Polariiiiss!!"

The commentator announced and the crowd turned wild. Arfius took off his form and then glanced at me. I simply pointed at the side of his head that was bleeding with a grin, and he quickly turned away in shame.

Damn… to think it turned into such a mad battle…

Alden, that guy… he knew he was fighting the strongest opponent, and he made such a heavy planning and preparation.

He did lose, but to go that far against Arfius? He's a damn hero.

"Next up, we have the most important battle of all! The battle between two best friends from class E, as well as the number one and two of class E! 

Rize Violet, and Jericho Ammonel from class E, everyone!!"

The crowd turned wild as the two of us stepped into the arena.

The arena was fixed in an instant by an earth mage, and we stepped into a newly made stone arena.

Jericho stood way across the arena, and somehow I can already feel something is different about her.

Not just Alden... She is also changing.

Her gaze at me is cold and demeaning, but a grin is formed on her face. I grinned back at her while waiting for the commentator who is still talking about our relationship.

"… Ever since Rize first came here as a transfer student, Jericho has been a really dear friend! She was always there with Rize and became one of her besties!! And today, the two will fight to decide who is the strongest!! I am so excited!!"

Okay, geez… stop leaking our relationship and just start the battle...

"Say, Rize."

Jericho suddenly called me and I turned my gaze back to her.

"I know that you are hiding 'it' on purpose, but can you unleash it with me? Right here?"

What is she talking about?

Is she… talking about my devil form?

"I meant… your fire magic."

"Oh…"

Ah, right. Of course.

"Sorry… but if I let it out here, it won't do as I intended it to be…"

"I see. I really wonder why you would go so far as to not use your fire magic at all, and it's sad how you couldn't use it now. 

Then… it's a lot easier for me!"

Jericho said with a wide grin, and a powerful heavy pressure was emitted from her.

Her whole body is now cladded in invisible wind armor and brilliant light as the six wings behind her back slowly form. Her long orange hair is bursting around from the heavy wind force. A large wind lance formed on both of her hands, and she spun it around like a dual lance user.

But what is weird, is that she is doing it while grinning... very happily.

"… Okay, then. I guess I should be doing that too."

I formed a stance and augmented my whole body in shadow magic. Full body shadow augmentation is a lot more powerful than a full body enchanting, but it's definitely a lot harder to maintain.

Hints of shadow slowly appeared on my entire body until it fully cladded my whole body black. It slowly turned its form and formed an armor with high details on it. The armor resembles a female body armor where there is a lot less cover on the body than male armor.

It didn't cover a part of my head, but two small horns formed on my head, between the hairs.

Two large shadow wings showed itself behind my back and flapped itself to make sure it could fly. These wings are more powerful than Jericho's wings, but they are a lot harder to focus and use.

A shadow scythe then slowly formed on my hand and I held it with both hands. I placed the blade backwards to form the stance.

"A scythe? I never thought you of all people would use a weird weapon like that."

"Not as weird as wielding two lances..."

"… Right. Those wings are pretty damn cool, though."

"Thanks! They are faster than yours."

"… You are so dead."

The two of us formed a wider grin as the commentator began the countdown. What is about to happen will be quite important for the both of us, and no one present here does not want to see how this will go.

This is… important… for everyone…

For the both of us.

"Three! 

Two! 

One… 

Begin!!"
