Trio’s Journey: Second Chance

Chapter 3: Chapter Two

{Chapter Two}

"First Day at the Academy"

It had been a few weeks since their arrival in the Naruto universe

The initial shock of their reincarnation had worn off, and the trio had started to settle into their new lives

After learning about the Academy and its entrance requirements, they applied through the administrative process

To their surprise, it was remarkably straightforward.

The requirements were as follows:

1. Love the village and strive to preserve its peace and prosperity.

2. Possess a strong, unyielding mind capable of enduring rigorous training and hard work.

3. Be healthy in both mind and body.

That was it…

After confirming they met these conditions, the three of them were approved for entry into the Academy

They would officially begin their training in a month, after all the other families had enrolled their children

The trio was stunned by how simple it was to get in

No wonder so many young genin perished early on — especially those from civilian families without access to advanced training or the knowledge passed down in ninja clans

Kyosuke couldn't help but grimace at the thought

"If this is the standard, no wonder so many civilians get weeded out early. It's survival of the fittest here." Kyosuke said

Kenji crossed his arms, leaning against the wall

"It's messed up when you think about it. Kids who don't have ninja bloodlines are basically thrown to the wolves." Kenji said

Shin nodded, his expression serious

"That's why we need to be ready. We might be Uzumaki now, but that doesn't mean we can get complacent. We need to work harder than anyone else if we want to survive and thrive." Shin said

Kyosuke's mind raced as he recalled training methods from their previous life

"We're not going to leave our progress to chance. We've got one month before the Academy starts, and we're going to make the most of it. Let's start with a workout routine." Kyosuke suggested

Kenji raised an eyebrow

"What kind of routine?" Kenji asked

Kyosuke grinned

"Something simple but effective. Remember the One Punch Man workout? We'll take inspiration from that and tweak it to fit our needs." Kyosuke said

He laid out the plan:

• 100 Squats

• 100 Sit-ups

• 100 Push-ups

• 100 Pull-ups

• 6.2-Mile Run

Kenji whistled, impressed

"That's intense for six-year-olds, even with Uzumaki blood." Kenji said

Shin smirked

"Yeah, but we're not normal six-year-olds. Let's do it." Shin said, agreeing

After the morning workout, the trio would shift focus to taijutsu training

Thanks to their memories from their previous lives, they still retained the martial arts techniques they had learned

These skills would serve as a strong foundation in the ninja world

The martial arts styles they practiced included:

1. Muay Thai – Focused on close-range combat with strikes using fists, elbows, knees, and shins.

2. Krav Maga – Practical and highly effective techniques for disarming and subduing opponents, ideal for life-and-death scenarios.

3. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu – Grappling techniques and submissions for close-quarters combat, perfect for overpowering larger opponents.

4. Boxing – Strong foundational striking and footwork for agility and precision.

5. Taekwondo – High-speed kicks and flexibility training to enhance their overall movement

Each day, they rotated between these styles, adapting their moves to fit the Naruto universe's taijutsu systems

As they trained, they realized their Uzumaki bloodline gave them more stamina and resilience than they'd ever had in their previous lives

"I have to admit, this Uzumaki chakra and stamina boost is no joke. It's like my body just wants to keep going." Kenji said between breaths after sparring with Kyosuke

Shin nodded, wiping sweat from his brow

"It's insane. But we can't rely on that alone. If we're going to be real shinobi, we need discipline and technique." Shin revealed

Kyosuke stepped back and folded his arms, his gaze thoughtful

"Exactly. Our advantage isn't just our Uzumaki bloodline; it's our memories and skills from our previous life. Let's focus on combining what we already know with what we'll learn here. The Academy might teach us the basics, but we're aiming higher than that." Kyosuke explained

Kenji grinned, clenching his fists

"Right. If we're going to make it in this world, we're not just surviving. We're thriving." Kenji said

Shin smirked

"Let's keep this momentum going. Who knows? Maybe we'll make a name for ourselves sooner than we think." Shin said

Their determination was clear as they continued their rigorous training

Every punch, every kick, and every drop of sweat brought them closer to their goal: to not only survive in the ninja world but to excel in it

The day had finally arrived. Standing outside the Academy, the trio of Kyosuke, Kenji, and Shin couldn't help but feel a mix of nervousness and excitement coursing through them

Kyosuke leaned against the academy gate, his sea-green eyes scanning the other kids gathering around

"This is it. The beginning of our ninja journey. Hard to believe we're actually here." Kyosuke said

Kenji, with his violet-blue eyes, smirked as he adjusted the sleeve of his shirt

"Yeah, and it's not just any Academy. This is the Academy. The place where it all starts for so many iconic ninjas." Kenji said

Shin, with his deep blue eyes, chuckled softly

"I still can't wrap my head around the fact that we're going to meet the people we only saw on a screen back in our old lives." Shin said

They fell into an easy silence as they watched kids filtering in

That's when they noticed a group of familiar faces

"Look, it's them," Kenji whispered, nudging Kyosuke

The trio glanced over and immediately recognized the Konoha 12 — or at least nine of them

Tenten, Neji, and Lee weren't there since they were a year ahead, but the rest of the group was hard to miss

There was Naruto Uzumaki, with his bright blonde hair and a mischievous grin, already drawing attention to himself

Then came Sasuke Uchiha, who wore an easy smile and seemed far more approachable than they remembered, though his confident air was still evident

Hinata Hyuga stood quietly nearby, her head slightly lowered as she peeked at Naruto

Sakura Haruno and Ino Yamanaka were already chatting animatedly, their excitement palpable

Shikamaru Nara leaned against the wall, yawning as if he'd rather be anywhere else, while Chōji Akimichi munched on a bag of chips

Kiba Inuzuka, with Akamaru perched on his head, laughed loudly as he teased Shino Aburame, who stood stoically in the background

Kenji grinned

"It's crazy seeing them in person. They're just kids like us right now, but these guys are going to be legends." Kenji said

Shin nodded, a small smile tugging at his lips

"And we're going to be a part of this world now. Let's make sure we don't get left behind." Shin said

Kyosuke's expression turned thoughtful

"Right. If we want to stand alongside—or above—these guys, we need to work even harder. Let's stay focused." Kyosuke said, his voice filled with determination

As the academy gates opened, they filed in with the rest of the students, their excitement growing

Inside the classroom, the trio chose seats next to each other while the other students naturally gravitated toward familiar groups

As Kyosuke scanned the room, he noted how nervous and shy many of the students appeared

It was the first day, after all

But one thing stood out to him — Naruto Uzumaki sat by himself, his grin slightly dimmed but still present despite the fact that most of the other kids avoided him

"Naruto, he's just a kid… and yet they already treat him like an outcast." Kyosuke muttered under his breath, his heart sinking slightly

Before they could say more, the door to the classroom opened, and Iruka Umino stepped in

The chatter died down as everyone turned their attention to the teacher

Iruka cleared his throat, his expression a mix of professionalism and warmth

"Good morning, everyone. I'm Iruka Umino, your instructor for the Academy. Over the next few years, I'll be teaching you the skills and knowledge you'll need to become shinobi of the Hidden Leaf Village." Iruka said

He scanned the room, his eyes briefly pausing on the trio of red-haired boys

A flicker of surprise crossed his face, but he quickly masked it

"To start things off, I'd like each of you to introduce yourselves. Tell us your name. Let's begin." Iruka said

One by one, the students introduced themselves

Naruto Uzumaki: "I'm Naruto Uzumaki!"

Sasuke Uchiha: "I'm Sasuke Uchiha!" His voice was confident, but his tone carried a hint of cheerfulness that the trio hadn't expected. He even smiled.

Sakura Haruno: "I'm Sakura Haruno!"

Hinata Hyuga: (softly) "I-I'm Hinata Hyuga."

Shikamaru Nara: "Shikamaru Nara."

Chōji Akimichi: "Chōji Akimichi."

Ino Yamanaka: "I'm Ino Yamanaka!"

Kiba Inuzuka: "I'm Kiba Inuzuka, and this is Akamaru!"

Shino Aburame: "Shino Aburame."

When it was the trio's turn, Kyosuke stood up first

"I'm Kyosuke Uzumaki." Kyosuke introduced himself

Kenji followed

"I'm Kenji Uzumaki." Kenji introduced himself

Lastly, Shin stood

"I'm Shin Uzumaki." Shin introduced himself

The room fell silent for a moment before whispers broke out

"Uzumaki?"

"Are they related to Naruto?"

"I thought the Uzumaki clan was wiped out!"

Iruka blinked in surprise but quickly recovered, a warm smile spreading across his face

"It's good to see more Uzumaki here. Your clan was known for its strength and resilience. I'm glad to see that legacy continuing." Iruke said

Naruto, however, was staring at them with wide eyes

"Wait… you're Uzumaki too?!" Naruto asked enthusiastically

Kyosuke turned to him, nodding

"That's right. The Uzumaki were a powerful clan, but most of us were wiped out during the war. Those who survived scattered across the nations." Kyosuke said

Naruto's jaw dropped

"So you're like… my family?" Naruto asked

Kyosuke smiled warmly

"In a way, yes. Why don't you join us? There's no need to sit alone." Kyosuke said

Naruto hesitated for a moment before his face lit up with a grin

"Really? You mean it?" Naruto asked, his tone filled with hope

"Of course, we're family, after all." Kenji chimed in

Iruka, who had initially harbored mixed feelings about Naruto, couldn't help but feel a pang of warmth as he watched the trio welcome the boy with open arms.

Naruto eagerly moved to sit with them, his heart lighter than it had been in a long time

The first day at the Academy turned out to be underwhelming for Kyosuke, Kenji, and Shin. Despite their excitement earlier, the lessons were dry and repetitive, covering Konoha's history — a subject the trio already knew in detail thanks to their memories of the Naruto universe

Kyosuke leaned on his desk, stifling a yawn

"This is going to be a long few years if every day is like this," he thought

Kenji glanced over at him, rolling his eyes as Iruka droned on about the founding of the village

Shin sat quietly, his gaze distant as if he were elsewhere entirely

Finally, recess came. The trio eagerly left the classroom, stretching their legs and heading to an open patch of grass outside

Naruto, who had been sticking close to them since the introductions, followed with his usual bright grin

"So, what do you guys want to play?" Naruto asked, his enthusiasm shining through despite his earlier loneliness

Kyosuke shook his head, waving off the suggestion

"We're not really in the mood to play right now. We were actually hoping to talk to you for a bit." Kyosuke said

Naruto blinked, his grin faltering slightly

"Talk? About what?" Naruto asked

Kenji sat cross-legged on the ground, motioning for Naruto to join them

"About you. How's life been for you so far?" Kenji asked

Naruto hesitated, scratching the back of his head nervously

"It's fine! Nothing bad happens to me or anything. Everything's great!" Naruto said, his voice filled with joy

Shin's sharp blue eyes narrowed slightly, immediately catching the lie

"Naruto, come on. You don't have to lie to us. We're family, remember?" Shin said, reminding Naruto

At Shin's words, Naruto's expression crumbled

Tears welled up in his bright blue eyes as he looked down

"It's… it's not fine. It's not fine at all." Naruto spoke, his voice trembling

The trio remained silent, letting him gather his thoughts

Slowly, Naruto began to confess everything— the harsh glares from villagers, the cruel whispers behind his back, the isolation, and the way people treated him like he didn't exist or worse, like he was a monster

Kyosuke clenched his fists, anger boiling inside him as he listened

He had expected Naruto's life to be difficult, but hearing the details firsthand was a different experience

Kenji's violet-blue eyes darkened as he crossed his arms, deep in thought

"How does he stay so cheerful through all of this?" he wondered, recalling Naruto's boundless energy and optimism from the show.

"Naruto, you're stronger than I thought. Anyone else would've given up or hated the village by now." Shin's voice was calm but tinged with an edge

Naruto wiped his eyes with his sleeve, managing a weak smile

"I don't hate them. I want to prove to everyone that I'm not what they think I am. I want to be Hokage someday and make them acknowledge me." Naruto spoke, filled with honesty

The trio exchanged glances, each of them silently impressed by the resolve of the six-year-old before them

After a moment, Kyosuke placed a hand on Naruto's shoulder

"You don't have to go through this alone anymore. We're here now, and we'll make sure things get better for you. I'll talk to the Third Hokage and see if we can have you live with us. We're family, Naruto. You deserve to be with people who care about you." Kyosuke said softly

Naruto's eyes widened in surprise

"Really? You'd do that for me?" Naruto asked

Kenji smiled softly

"Of course. What are big brothers for?" Kenji said

Naruto's grin returned, this time brighter than ever

"Thanks, guys. That means a lot." Naruto said

The rest of recess passed with the trio chatting with Naruto, learning more about his life and subtly trying to lift his spirits.

After recess, the class returned to the same monotonous lessons

Iruka continued to lecture about the basic structure of Konoha's government, the roles of the Hokage, and the village's administration

The trio tried to stay focused, but their minds were elsewhere, particularly Kyosuke's

He was already forming a plan on how to approach the Third Hokage

If he could convince Hiruzen that Naruto would be better off living with them, it could make a significant difference in Naruto's life

Meanwhile, Kenji doodled in the margins of his notebook, occasionally glancing at Naruto, who was listening to Iruka with an admirable amount of focus

Shin, ever the observer, kept a close eye on the other students, trying to gauge their personalities and potential

By the end of the day, the trio was more determined than ever

The Uzumaki brothers had found their first mission in this new world: to give Naruto the family and support he had always deserved
