Toman's Black Cat

Chapter 92: asking for help

Y/n's POV

I tried to convince the guys to let me come and by convince the guys, I mean every single dang one of them was going to argue me down about me going with them.

"You could get hurt!" Souya squeaked. Nahoya nodded in agreement.

"It would suck to be out of the hospital and then go to prison because someone hurt you." Nahoya spoke with his signature smile.

Wait wha...O_O

Every time I opened my mouth to give pros for why I should go, someone spoke ahead of me to say no and a few hundred reasons why I shouldn't. I felt frustration rising in my chest and clenched my fists as I tried to think of more reasons I should go.

"I know you want to help, but did you consider that if you go with them and get into trouble, you would be putting their lives at risk, too? I'm sure you know they care for you, so what do you think would happen if any of them saw you getting hurt?" Mitsuya's voice of reason tore through my heart and my shoulders slumped in defeat.

He's right. I know for sure Souya would defend me to the death, just like Chifuyu. I would never forgive myself if they got hurt trying to protect me because I was stubborn.

I nodded sadly, stepping back in silence. I felt a sudden tug at my wrist and looked to see Nahoya and Souya next to me. I smiled at them both. "'Hoya, hospitals suck, but escaping isn't quite the best route to take when you need to be there."

"Uh huh, don't try to be wise after you were begging to fight Tenjiku and Mitsuya had to talk you out of it." His words gripped me, and I raised my hands with a nod.

"I promise I'll come tell you when it's over." Souya whispered. I smiled at him, walking to him and embracing him to show appreciation.

"Hell nah. We're twins. What he gets, I get, too!" I laughed at Nahoya's comment but hugged him just the same. I decided to leave now as they began to talk about what their plans were.

I decided to make a visit to Shinichiro's grave, walking at a pace to bring me to his site. As I sat in front of it, I couldn't help remembering what I had already experienced tonight.

"Shin, you're such a sweetheart for trying to look after your family even now. You're such a jerk though." Tears pricked my eyes. "How dare you still be kind even now and smile at me, as if life isn't already hurting. Missing people I knew who have passed is hard enough, but missing someone I never have is so confusing."

I let my tears fall as I sat there trying to not think of the battle with Tenjiku. "You didn't realize how loved you were and still are. So, since you're hanging around, could you help me out just a little? Help me save them, please."

A sudden image of darkened red and white flashed in my mind, causing me to jump up in shock.

What was….?!?!?!

I took off running in the direction of the battle.

I can't let that happen. I can't!
