Toman's Black Cat

Chapter 77: Don't be like everyone else

Mikey's POV

When Sanzu brought her to his place unconscious, he didn't have the chance to ask what happened to her. Sanzu told him everything he knew. She visited Tenjiku members, but it's unclear what she was doing there as of late.

She left a short while later and ended up being witness to Mitsuya being bashed with a brick. She chose to wait with him and even went to the hospital with him to be sure he was alright.

Mikey clenched his fists when Sanzu even said the Haitani brothers were hanging around her when she left the hospital. He knew very well the type of delinquent Ran was, and he could only see red when he was told how close they looked.

She had been unconscious for a few days and did what he could to think over what he knew.

Draken came after Emma told him about their visitor. As soon as he saw Mikey, he scoffed. "You got some nerve." Mikey looked up at him, irritated with his friend to immediately launch insults at him, but before he could send a retort, Ken cut him off.

"You're the one who kept pushing her away. Yeah, fine. You didn't trust her. How'd that work out for you?"

Mikey looked away, knowing his friend was right but not willing to say it out loud.

"Mikey, tell her how you feel for once. If you won't and keep her at a distance, you have no right to be jealous of anyone in her life. Ever."

He had thought about it and knew he had to when he heard her scream from some nightmare. He came into the room, and she wouldn't look at him. He's used to being hurt, but this never hurt any less.

Ever.

What can I say? I can't make any of this right….

He pulled her into him and began remembering the first time a girl ever told him she loved him. The memory of that day made him hug her tightly as he could feel each kiss she had given him that day.

Each kiss he had willingly turned away.

"I need you, too." He felt her body shake with sobs but felt so much relief when he felt her arms wrap around him in return. He didn't pull away this time as she cried. He smiled to himself as he pulled away just enough to see her tear stained face.

I'll show you the love you showed me, so you know I never forgot.

He began to kiss softly and slowly over her face like he remembered her doing for him. Whispering in between each kiss how much he loves her, needs her, wants her.

"Please don't leave me…I know it was my fault, but I can't take it again." He spoke as honestly as he could, doing his best to be vulnerable. He pressed the last kiss to her lips.

Don't keep leaving like everyone else…
