The World’s King Slayer

Chapter 120: Decisions

The World stood on a balcony overlooking a nebulae. Desmond approached with Prometheus in tow. He was shackled and looked dirty. "Have you had time to reflect?" The World asked turning around to face them. Prometheus fixed his glasses up the ridge of his nose. "I stand by my decision. And my counsel" Prometheus stood firm as he locked eyes with the glowing head of his master.

"Seems you are just as stubborn as Sister Spinner. She pleaded for me to set free and reached out again in fact. Showing trust by sharing some visions to me for next moves" Prometheus frowned in surprise "Wow. She hasn't even given me that privilege. I merely rely on blind faith" he chuckled at his sarcasm.

The World didn't look amused and paused "So what did she share?" Prometheus asked "The next two kings I must crown to change the realms. Two strategic realms that will assist us when facing the Nexus. I have decided to follow the counsel of you two" Prometheus nodded and smiled. "Do not gloat. I realize I let emotions rule me and now my sword has chosen self banishment" Prometheus nodded, "Perhaps he'll come back?" The World shook their heads. "No honor dictates when making an oath you stick by that oath. Raising his hand to me his master breaks that trust. He knew what he was doing when he did it. He did it for his student. I can respect his decision, but he will forever be banished from the Regime" Prometheus stared out at the nebulae. "Loyalty right now is in short supply. You found out anything about Mist Dragon?"

The World was quiet on this. "Well hopefully we find something. Do you have anyone you trust more than Mist Dragon to dig into it?" The World nodded. "I have a few" Prometheus then held up his hands. "So? When are you going to unshackle me?" He shook the chains. The World snapped their fingers and the chains disappeared. "Thank you" he then summoned his grimoire that floated next to him. "Glad you can talk to me again!" The book shouted. Prometheus waved it off. "Oh pipe down. You were fine in my Mind Palace. Shut it! I want the Clean Sheet spell!" He snapped his fingers. His body then started to glow blue and his clothes were brand new and his body completely clean from the dungeon grime. "Much better," he said, fixing his collar.

He tightened his gloves on his hands and took off his glasses, cleaning them with a silk rag. "So what do you need me to do?" Prometheus asked. "Go to your Soul Plane and prepare. That's what I want from you now" the World turned their back staring at the beyond. Prometheus nodded with a serious look and walked away.

The king's head lopped off the body and fell back into the pit. Using small gusts of wind Red Demon floated over the big hole staring down at the darkness using Shadow to feel within the darkness. It went far but it had a bottom. It was two miles deep from what he could tell.

He didn't sense movement within or any sign of chi. "This has been a real confusing mission?" He thought, staring at the hole.

He replayed events in his head and all he could see was unorganized chaos. Nothing was easy by any means. But nothing seemed too difficult either. The only anomaly in this whole thing was the Sword King's knights. They were the hiccup and were the difficult part of this mission. With the amount of power they used to defeat the king, yes it was a feat in itself. The king however seemed to be up to something and barely fought back. Which perturbed Red Demon. From his experience all kings fought back to the bitter end.

Now there have been exceptions like the Emerald King who was just crippled. But he was the only one since he took up this affair. He sheathed Havoic Flame. He then returned to his companions. "What is it? You seem troubled by something?" Smiling asked as he could see the Red Demon deep in thought.

"The king was a strange one compared to these others. Perhaps I'm over thinking things" he then looked at Sun Demon who was sitting on a pile of rubble. Her mask was off and she too seemed deep in thought. He walked over to her, "You okay?" He asked with genuine concern. "No. But I will be. Seems I'm done with this place finally. My job is done as Sun Demon" she sighed as her lip quivered. She seemed to choke that urge back and remained stoic. "Sun Demon doesn't have to be done here. You could come with me and Smiling. Join us and I promise you will do more good going forward.

Fate has ordained it so that you have a bigger destiny than merely being a vigilante" Sun Demon looked surprised by this. "You said you had a mission and I brushed you off. Is this what is? Fate sent you here to find me?" She asked now with more intrigue than last time he tried to talk to her.

"Yes. Sister Spinner the weaver of fate sent me to find two more demons to join me. My mission goes beyond just slaying kings now. Now there is a bigger picture and I need help to fulfill it. Will you join us?" He then produced the bracelet and uniform made by Spinner. He held them out with both hands and bowed. She stared at the yellow uniform and jewelry. She thought back to all her strife and feeling like something was missing like a clue to her future she missed. And now here it was presented to her. She lost everything to help her realm. And now she must leave it to something else. She reached out for the items and took them. "I will join you. I'll be ready by nightfall to leave" she then took the items and walked back to the palace to obtain her things for her journey. Red Demon was surprised by the sudden change of heart.

"Well at least you got her to join us" Smiling came on his right. Scarab limped over on his left. "Sad to see her go. But probably best the Crew might not like that she is a royal. Best they never find out" he told them. "What will you do?" Smiling asked him. "Rebuild a better city. Technology will be used to help people and make life better. For all people, not just the wealthy. I will say the first thing is to free the souls trapped in the machines" Scarab sounded confident and ready to face things head on. "I wish you luck in that" Red Demon extended a hand out. Scarab shook with his good hand. "I'm sure with you the people here will be in good hands. We'll be around the palace if you want to say bye" Red Demon gestured to Smiling and they began walking leaving Scarab alone.

He slumped down on a broken vehicle. He smiled looking up to the sky. The sky began to swirl and a glow came from it. This caused the two demons to stop in their tracks. Red turned around and was puzzled by the level of chi coming from the sky. A beam of light of purple hue then targeted Scarab. His body began to glow and from the sky came a purple demonic looking mask that was purple and silver. A single horn came from the forehead and two short horns on the side. The mouth was a row of long jagged teeth in a snarl form. It was paired with a staff with a spear head jewel on the top. It had silver runes carved on its staff. The staff itself was a dark brown wood with a shine upon it. The jewel had swirling chi inside it and surged with chi.

The two items floated in front of Scarab who was in a state of shock as he stared at them. "What the hell is happening?!" He yelled looking at Red and Smiling. "Seems your to be the next king of this realm" Scarab's jaw dropped hearing this.
