The Werewolf King's Bride

Chapter 620: Did She Have Hope?

(From Demetrius's Perspective)

Blue killed. I saw her do it. I saw her drink blood of those people. Yet, I found her more alluring every day.

The first night it happened, I was sleeping at first. I woke up when I heard her getting up. She was naked and did not bother putting on anything. Then she teleported. I freaked out and teleported alongside her using the ring she gave me. I was probably just two seconds late. She was already on a body, sucking that person's blood with her fangs deep inside the veins of their neck. Upon closer look, it was a maid. Blue had just given birth. I remembered that I left our children alone. But what the hell was I supposed to do?

After she drank for a while, she fell unconscious. I first notified Luc to take care of the kids for a while. I told Luc the gist of what happened. I took Blue to a cabin and cleaned her up. I did not tell her who it was. What was the point? She could probably also guess that it must have been a maid or a servant. Experience more on My Virtual Library Empire

After that, it happened many times. Each time, I cleaned her up and pretended like everything was fine. Blue also acted that way. Luc and I talked about it though.

"She is killing maids and servants and everyone that is just there at night when she is thirsty or something!" Luc exclaimed.

"What do you want me to do?"

"Stop her!"

"How?" I asked tiredly.

"I don't think you care at all for all those lives. How long will you keep burying bodies? Someone is ought to find out."

"No one will unless we tell them which none of us will."

"That's not the point, Demetrius! Your wife is killing innocent werewolves! That's a huge matter."

"No one is innocent, Luc. Everyone is guilty of something. It's not like she is killing children. We have children too and she is never hurting them."

"Please, Demetrius. She is never hurting her own children. Her subconsciousness won't allow it. She might kill someone else's child some day. What will you say then?"

I shrugged. "She might need the blood, Luc. Have you ever thought of that?"

"Get her animal blood. Pig blood, chicken blood, anything. Try that."

I tried. Luc was right about one thing. If someone found out, it would be terrible. Well, of course, no one could do anything. But Blue's reputation would be ruined.

I got her animal blood. During day times, she refused to even touch it and would not talk to me if I mentioned anything of it. Then I tried to give her that at night which helped, but she drank a lot.

She had been fine since last year. Even after drinking animal blood, she sometimes craved something stronger. But not always, which was an improvement.

We tried to make sure none of the children found out about it. They would probably be okay with it, considering she was their mother. Still, we did not want to risk it. It was an unspoken agreement between us.

Sometimes, I had the fear of losing her. For someone like me, having someone as perfect as Blue was nothing other than a miracle. I had three children with her. We spent almost twenty years together. We knew everything about each other. Yet, I always felt I would lose her someday.

I looked for her even though I knew I would not be able to find her if she and her father did not want me to find her. Her father did not want to kill her, but that did not mean he would not hurt her. Last time, he branded her and that was also when she was awake and could feel everything. That was his way of awakening her power.

I felt depressed. I was not powerful enough to help her. I could not do anything for her.

"I told Blue that son of yours was trouble," Cyan said knowingly. I hated his attitude. "Now, look! He is like Azure. I could see it very clearly in the last fifteen years."

"Sixteen," Bree said.

"Yeah, sixteen years. I told Blue many times to keep an eye on him. But look at her. The all-knowing caring mother. Too soft for her own good. She once yelled at me because I burned an enemy of ours," Cyan said.

"You burned him alive?" Dion asked.

"Of course."

"Amazing!" Bree said while Dion remained silent. Dion reminded me of his mother. Perhaps a little less soft than her. "Father, Mum will be alright. She is one of the most powerful dark mages ever. Who can hurt her?"

"Our father can," Cyan said. "He is more powerful than her. Remember, we are his children. Obviously, he is more powerful. All Blue can do is take him by surprise. With her son."

"Demian can take Azure by surprise," King Ford said. He was still here. "With his power, whatever that is."

Both Blue and I had an idea about Demian's power. I found out about it by reading Bree's mind. Bree always tried hard not to think about it, but she eventually did. I told Blue and we pretended not to know about it since Demian wanted to keep it a secret. But we were not certain about the extent of Demian's power. Could he raise any dead? Could he control them? If so, then to what extent?

Yes, Demian probably could take Azure by surprise. But could he truly? Bree, Blue and I knew about this power. Now, King Ford knew too, because Bree, I had no idea why the hell, told him. If we knew about it, Azure might also know about it.

Would it truly be a surprise then? Did Blue even have hope? If she decided to leave Demian and care only about herself, then she had hope. But I knew my wife. She would rather die than leave her child when he needed her. Even if he was the one who chose that fate for himself.
