Chapter 32: Alex's 3rd Birthday

The Big Day Arrives

It was a bright and sunny morning, a perfect day for a celebration. The house was buzzing with activity as Simon and Gigi prepared for Alex's third birthday. Decorations were being put up, balloons floated in the living room, and the scent of freshly baked treats filled the air.

Alex was running around, excited beyond words, wearing a "Birthday Boy" shirt that Gigi had picked out just for him. He had been talking about his birthday for weeks, eagerly telling everyone he knew that he was about to turn three.

"I'm big now!" Alex said to his stuffed animals, puffing out his chest proudly. He had no idea just how special this day was, but his excitement was infectious.

Simon and Gigi exchanged a smile as they watched their little boy, realizing how fast time had passed. Three years had flown by, and their son had grown from a tiny baby into an energetic and curious little boy.

The Party Begins

By early afternoon, the house was filled with family, friends, and all the people who loved Alex. The table was set with snacks, cake, and a colorful spread of food. Music played in the background, and laughter filled the air.

Gigi looked at Simon, her heart swelling with pride. "He's growing up so fast, isn't he?" she whispered.

Simon nodded, his eyes focused on Alex, who was eagerly tearing into a pile of presents. "He sure is. But I'm proud of the little man he's becoming."

Birthday Wishes and Presents

Alex's eyes grew wide as he unwrapped his first gift: a set of toy cars. He cheered, "More vroom-vrooms!" and quickly started zooming them around on the floor.

"Don't forget the big one," Gigi said, pointing to a large box in the corner.

Simon grinned, moving over to the box and revealing a shiny, new bike with training wheels. It was bright red, with a "Racing Champ" logo on the side.

"Whoa!" Alex's eyes were as wide as saucers. "My bike?"

"Yep, buddy," Simon said, kneeling down to hand it to him. "Happy birthday. You're going to be the fastest rider around."

With a little help from Simon, Alex climbed onto the bike, and they took their first ride together in the yard. Alex giggled as the bike rolled across the grass, with Simon jogging alongside to make sure he was steady.

The Cake and Celebration

As the party continued, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived. Gigi brought out a birthday cake adorned with bright frosting and candles. Alex's eyes sparkled as the crowd sang "Happy Birthday" to him.

When the song ended, Gigi helped him blow out the candles. "Make a wish, Alex," she whispered.

Alex squinted at the flickering candles for a moment, then blew them out with a puff. "I wish for more vroom-vrooms!" he said with a grin, causing everyone to laugh.

Family Love

As the day came to a close and the last of the guests headed home, Simon took a moment to reflect on everything. His son, his beautiful wife, and the life they had built together were everything he had ever dreamed of.

Alex was already in his pajamas, his small hands clutching a toy car as he fought to stay awake.

"You had a good birthday, champ?" Simon asked, sitting beside him.

Alex nodded, his voice drowsy. "Best birthday ever, Da-da."

Simon kissed his forehead, whispering, "Happy birthday, little man. You make every day special."

Gigi joined them, wrapping her arms around both of her boys. "He's growing up so fast," she said softly.

Simon nodded. "Time flies. But we're here, together, and that's all that matters."
