Chapter 23: Chapter 23: The Breaking of the Eight-Tails' Seal
BOOM!
A Tailed Beast Bomb smashed into the iron sand barrier, leaving a massive dent before erupting in an explosion of immense proportions. Unlike Deidara's clay bombs, the Tailed Beast Bomb was infused with vast amounts of chakra, dealing both physical and mental damage simultaneously.
A violent shockwave laced with chakra roared past the three figures behind the iron sand wall. Deidara's blond hair and the red clouds on his cloak whipped wildly in the wind as his hands reached into his clay pouch, ready to create something big.
"Deidara! This time, stay out of it! The Eight-Tails is mine."
Sasori's hoarse voice carried a distorted edge in the wind, but the determination in his tone was unmistakable.
"Tch!" Deidara reluctantly withdrew his hands. It wasn't just the itch for battle that made him want to intervene—the thought of fighting the Eight-Tails promised plenty of thrilling explosions. Still, if Sasori insisted, there wasn't much he could do. Besides, there'd be plenty of battles ahead, especially once the Akatsuki formally declared war on the ninja world. Opportunities for leveling up wouldn't be scarce.
"Two idiots in weird outfits, huh? Killer Bee'll play with you both! Yeah! Woo!"
With a bizarre rhythm, a half-transformed Killer Bee charged across the water. Eight crimson chakra tails lashed behind him, radiating immense pressure.
"He's much stronger than the Seven-Tails from last time," Deidara remarked from the rear. The Eight-Tails' power far outclassed the Seven-Tails, and Killer Bee's mastery of his Jinchūriki state—with all eight tails active—put him in a league of his own. The previous Seven-Tails host had only managed to manifest four tails at best.
Sasori was in for a tough fight. Even with the Third Kazekage puppet, handling Killer Bee would be challenging.
"Magnet Release: Iron Sand Drizzle!"
Black iron sand formed countless slender needles in mid-air, dense as a rainstorm and swift as bullets. The black barrage hurtled toward the charging Killer Bee.
"Ow! That stings, but it's like a lady's slap—totally useless! Fool! Ya fool!"
The Iron Sand Drizzle struck Killer Bee's Tailed Beast Cloak but failed to penetrate it. All it did was cause him mild discomfort.
"Take this! Woohoo!"
With a shout, Killer Bee, now fully enclosed in his Tailed Beast Cloak, lunged at Sasori. His clawed right hand, radiating overwhelming power, struck the puppet Hiruko with such force that it was sent flying.
"There's another lackey back there, huh? Let Bee-sama send you to the afterlife!" Killer Bee charged at Deidara next.
"Magnet Release: Iron Sand World Order!"
But Sasori wasn't about to let that happen. Allowing Deidara to be harmed would be tantamount to declaring Sasori, the Red Sand, incompetent.
Controlling Hiruko back onto the water's surface, Sasori immediately unleashed one of the Third Kazekage's most formidable techniques. Iron sand formed massive spikes that descended in quick succession, creating a sealing web of sand and metal—a technique designed to trap and limit the enemy's movements.
Shk! Shk!
The iron spikes repeatedly pierced Killer Bee's body. Even with the protection of the Tailed Beast Cloak, the relentless assault left his form riddled with shallow wounds. Though the Tailed Beast chakra quickly healed him, this situation couldn't continue indefinitely.
"ROAR!"
Half-transformed, Killer Bee let out a beastly roar.
"Take this, fool! Ya fool!"
His clawed hands struck out furiously, smashing through the iron sand pillars while sending massive waves soaring ten meters into the air.
But it was futile. The iron sand was composed of countless fine particles that simply reassembled after each strike, reforming the barrier again and again.
"ROAR!"
"Killer Bee-sama's angry now!" Realizing his attacks were ineffective, Killer Bee prepared another Tailed Beast Bomb. The dense sphere of chakra obliterated the Iron Sand World Order in one devastating shot, allowing him to leap free and charge straight at Hiruko.
Sasori remained calm. As Hiruko's black shell braced for impact, the iron sand behind him transformed into massive cylindrical shapes. With a primitive yet effective motion, they slammed down toward Killer Bee.
"Ow, ow, ow! Fool! Ya fool!"
Killer Bee, unharmed, clambered back up from the sea's surface and charged again with relentless ferocity.
Sasori, now irritated, muttered under his breath. He hadn't anticipated the Eight-Tails' Jinchūriki to have such high defenses. His magnet release techniques weren't enough to inflict critical damage.
There was no choice but to use his ultimate move.
Hovering in mid-air, the Third Kazekage puppet clapped its hands together, seemingly gathering energy for the decisive blow. The black iron sand shifted, condensing into a colossal, razor-sharp trident. With a deafening whoosh, it hurtled toward the rampaging Killer Bee.
"ROAR! AAH!"
The massive trident struck Killer Bee square in the chest, stopping his charge and sending him flying backward at breakneck speed.
Still not enough? Then let's add some spin!
"Bee-sama!" shouted a sensor ninja from the Giant Turtle Island, his face pale with disbelief.
"What's wrong with Bee?" Motoi asked, dread welling in his chest.
"Bee-sama… Bee-sama appears to have been defeated!" stammered the trembling sensor ninja.
"Impossible! Bee is in his half-transformed state! Even Raikage-sama would struggle against him. There's no way he could be taken down so easily!" Motoi argued, though his tone betrayed a hint of desperation.
"It's true…" another ninja confirmed.
"Wait! What's that?" A Kumogakure ninja pointed toward the distant sea, where a colossal bull-octopus figure loomed, laughing maniacally and radiating an overwhelming surge of chakra.
"Damn it! The Eight-Tails is completely out of control!"
Back on the battlefield, Sasori observed his opponent's apparent defeat with icy detachment.
"Success. The Eight-Tails' Jinchūriki is mine," he said calmly.
No! Don't say that!
Deidara smacked his forehead in exasperation. This was a cardinal rule of the shinobi world: never declare victory prematurely! Just like how fire jutsu never kills, or how a sensei's death is inevitable—it was a fundamental law!
Sure enough, moments later, the surge of chakra grew even more intense, suffocating in its pressure. Emerging from the waves was none other than the Eight-Tails itself, second in strength only to the Nine-Tails.
This wasn't over. Not by a long shot.
