The Roots of the Dragon Teeth Thieving Fairy! (Comdic Fairy Tale BL)

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Sweep Away!

I was sweeping. Dust was falling from my wings! A magical rune was collecting it.

Why, one might ask, didn't I just do this from the start? Why didn't I just sweep a street, or weed a garden, or, heck, even deliver newspapers in the morning!

It was because I didn't like hard work. It was in the name: hard work.

Who would have thought that Tony would be fuming over the fact that I was letting out so much dust that a small kingdom could be bought with it!

You see… fairy dust is a stress response. The more stressed you are, the worse it gets.

And I was very stressed. Tony was by my side, trying to get the work done faster because, for all intents and purposes, I was overpaying the goblins.

And not just that, but I was overpaying them so much, that it wasn't even funny.

But enough of that, I told myself, as I began to sweep faster, giving out more and more dust.

I needed to get out of here, and fast!

Because, as much as I hated the idea of becoming a henchman, I hated the idea of becoming a laborer even more!

"Ok, that's all from him," the goblin took the broom off my hands, only for Tony to take it from him and to trust it back into my hands.

"No," Tony was one death threat away from having what he wanted, I knew. "He will continue!"

"Tony!" I whined, high-pitched and desperate.

"No!" Tony continued, for there was nothing which was going to make him loosen up towards me. "He will do so!"

"Ok," I caved, like the loser I was. Beginning to sweep so, as if nothing was out of order.

But everything was out of order! Everything!

Not only was Tony using me for my fairy dust, in the good way, thank god, but Tony was no longer looking at me with kind eyes!

He was… he was…

Looking at me so, as if I owed him money!

But I didn't, darn it! It was my idea to steal from the dragon graveyard! And it was my idea to do this thing, this small and nice gesture, for the gnomes!

"Yes, Master Fairy!" That was Amy. She was sweeping the streets as well. Making the goblins look down at their feet in shame. "Let us get a job here! It's nice here! Do you think that we could get something for this sweeping? Maybe a copper coin?"

I blinked. Did this nice lady really believe that we were doing this for coppers?

"Amy," I was sweeping, not wanting to break her heart.

She was a gnome. One who made candy canes. I just knew that she didn't have much of a fortune to her name.

"Would you and Bob like to work for me?"

If the only payment she wanted was a copper coin, then I figured that I could just give her the gold coin, send her back home, and sent her 5% from the 10% Tony Macaroni was going to pay me for my fairy dust.

It was… the kindest thing I had ever done. But, hey, that was not to say that I wasn't a fairy.

And we were kind, and sang songs, and not to mention we were better than goblins!

As soon as I thought that, a goblin looked at me with narrowed eyes.

I lowered my gaze.

"Kind Master Goblin," he knew what I was thinking. I must have looked at him so, as if he was dirt under my nails. That look was universal among all species. "I meant no offense! And I…"

"Do not dare offer more of your fairy dust!" I had no idea why Tony was so peeved. I thought that he had simply lost the opportunity to gain the profit for himself, but then…

"This is exploitation, Mike! How can you stand it?"

Huh, no one had ever asked a fairy that. It wasn't something we got asked, period.

Our dust could heal wounds, could bring someone from the brink of Death. Could even heal toothaches, but that was a different story. Something I nearly got eaten over.

By a dragon, may lightning strike them all down!

"Yes, I know it is," I told him with a straight face. What, did he expect that I'd agree with him and then everything would be rosy? "But that is the way of life, Tony Macaroni! The fairies have dust in their wings which is a cure all, and most of us are dumped into work camps. So…"

I didn't want to give Tony this piece of information. For all I knew, he was going to use it against me.

But that was beside the point. Now we were there, in the Black Market, and my fairy wings were still giving away dust!

Dust, which had to be collected!

I had an idea!

"But I am already your henchman!" I told him, as I began to sweep energetically. "So, I can work in your name, and then, when you sell the dust, you can give me the 10%!"

"No!" Tony yelled. I wanted to tell him that maybe, just maybe, he shouldn't be this unkind to me.

But then he took the new bottomless pouch the goblins were filling up for him, using some of the dust collected from the other one to pay for that one, and he took the broom from me.

"We will only use your dust if its needed!" He told me, as he began to eye Amy. "And if you need food and protection, you and Bob can come with us!"

He was the Hero of Honor for true now. No one could deny that.

"Oh?" A goblin asked, eyeing the other bottomless bag, which was still filling up with my dust.

Dust, which still continued to fall.

Anthony didn't know it, but I was in so much stress that my wings were changing. Becoming stronger.

It wasn't a bad thing, per se.

I sneezed.

My butterfly wings became as strong as my adamantine armor!

Soon, I was in the air, sprinkling fairy dust everywhere!

Laughing like a loon!
