Chapter 4: ECLIPSE RANK SYSTEM
The Gift Rank is an inherent classification bestowed upon an Eclipse at the moment of awakening, determined by the system itself. Unlike conventional skill progression, an Eclipse's rank is nearly immutable. However, mankind has developed its own system of evaluation to measure and categorize the potential of Eclipses based on their capabilities and training.
While an Eclipse cannot directly change their Gift Rank, rigorous training and experience allow them to maximize their potential. Though they receive only one primary Gift, an Eclipse may learn additional supportive skills. For example, an Eclipse with the Swordmaster Gift may develop techniques such as Slashing, Piercing, or Parrying, enhancing their combat prowess. This adaptability enables even those with lower-ranked Gifts to compete against stronger foes by refining their abilities.
Each nation has an Eclipse Association (EA) responsible for evaluating, guiding, and regulating Eclipses. The EA determines an individual's power level and provides them with necessary assistance. However, those of higher ranks often transcend legal restrictions, making them difficult to control.
The power of an Eclipse is quantified through Eclipse Force (EF)—an energy derived from the fusion of light and darkness. This force is measured using Magic Crystals, which react to the individual's resonance, displaying various effects that determine their rank. The ranks are classified as follows:
The Luminshade rank is the lowest tier, where the crystal emits a dim, barely visible glow, often flickering. This is the initial stage of awakening, where an individual's power is weak and unstable. Those at this level struggle with control and often possess abilities considered insignificant or impractical.
The Penlumin rank follows, where the crystal produces a soft glow that fills it but does not expand. This state of partial illumination indicates a balance of light and darkness that remains unrefined. While stronger than Luminshade, those in this tier often rely on external support to enhance their abilities.
The Umbralum rank is where the crystal generates a stable glow with a faint visible aura. At this threshold, an Eclipse begins to tap into their true potential. Though still incomplete, individuals at this stage can harness a noticeable force, yet their power may remain unreliable or undeveloped.
The Syzlume rank is the boundary stage, where the crystal radiates bright light, illuminating its surroundings while humming and vibrating slightly. At this level, light and darkness harmonize, granting greater control and precision. Eclipses at this stage have mastered the basic flow of their abilities, allowing them to develop unique signature techniques.
The Coronalight rank is where the crystal produces dazzling brilliance and heat waves, sometimes floating slightly while radiating warmth. This rank signifies a powerful yet unstable force, akin to the solar corona. Those at this stage begin to surpass conventional limits, their presence alone affecting the battlefield.
The Luminova rank is a nearly divine state, where the crystal emits a blinding light that distorts nearby space, occasionally cracking and releasing energy waves. At this stage, an Eclipse's power reaches cosmic brilliance, akin to a supernova. Individuals at this level reshape their surroundings and defy logic, making them revered or feared as living legends. Only a handful exist in each country, numbering fewer than ten per nation.
The Eclipsarion rank stands at the pinnacle of Eclipse power. The crystal becomes unstable, oscillating between pure light and absolute darkness before shattering under the overwhelming force.
This rank represents an anomaly beyond mortal comprehension. Those who reach this level transcend normal limitations, altering reality with mere thought and action. Eclipsarion are forces of nature rather than mere individuals, shaping the course of history through their existence.
The Eclipse Ranking System defines an individual's affinity with the forces of light and darkness. The further one ascends, the more unstable, transcendent, and reality-defying their abilities become. While power is predetermined, those who push their limits and refine their skills can challenge fate itself as an endeavor that separates the ordinary from the extraordinary.
