The Almighty Diva: Reborn to be Worshipped

Chapter 8: The Embrace of Acceptance

After Ji Chuxing left Director Yan's office and descended the stairs, she happened to pass by the laboratory building. It was just past eight in the morning, and most other classes were already in their first period.

The lab was deserted, with no one around. One of the doors stood open, and an experiment was still running on the table inside. Ji Chuxing had only glanced at it casually, but then paused mid-step, turned a corner, and entered the lab.

Ten minutes later, Class 16 of Grade Three.

At Nan City No. 1 High School, there was hardly any teacher willing to take charge of this notorious class filled with students who didn't care much for studying, rarely took exams, and lived a "carefree" life. Most of them, however, came from influential families, making it impossible to discipline them properly.

Among these students, two particularly stood out as troublemakers yet somehow commanded immense popularity.

It was the first period, Chinese Literature class. Mr. Huang, the homeroom teacher, was lecturing passionately while his students dozed off. Only two or three students sat upright, diligently taking notes.

Mr. Huang was about to lose his temper when a clear, melodious voice called out from the doorway: "Report."

Oh my! That crisp, sweet voice sounded like a songbird.

Mr. Huang jolted, and the entire Class 16 seemed to wake up. Students who had been slumped over their desks lifted their heads to see a beautiful girl standing at the door.

Someone whistled.

"Little fairy!"

"Wow, did the little fairy get lost?"

Mr. Huang glared at the class president, Wu Hao, who had whistled. Unfazed, Wu Hao said, "Hey, it's an accident, Old Huang."

Putting on a friendly face, Mr. Huang asked gently, almost too sweetly, "Student, did you come to the wrong class? Are you looking for someone?"

Ji Chuxing, her backpack slung over her shoulder, scanned the classroom. She noticed an empty seat next to the last desk in the middle row and walked over, her voice politely sweet: "Teacher, I'm here for class."

By the time she finished speaking, she had already sat down and promptly laid her head on the desk.

She was so sleepy. Last night, she had drunk too much bubble tea and hadn't slept well. She hated feeling sick.

Mr. Huang was confused. As the homeroom teacher, he knew this wasn't one of his students. "Uh, student, which class are you from? Did you make a mistake?"

Fighting off sleep, Ji Chuxing stood up. Her eyes were barely open, but she politely introduced herself: "I'm Ji Chuxing. I just transferred here. I didn't make a mistake; Director Yan approved it."

The students in Class 16 were stunned!

They couldn't believe someone would actually transfer into their class.

Ah, spit! Class 16 was still the top dog in Nan City.

But that wasn't the main point.

They looked at where Ji Chuxing had sat and gasped.

Good grief, she had chosen to sit right next to Fei Jie—Zhao Feifei, the infamous "Empress Feifei" of Class 16!

This new girl, Ji Chuxing, had just arrived and didn't know any better. With her petite, fairy-like appearance, could she handle Fei Jie's fiery temper?

At that moment, Zhao Feifei was sleeping like a log, sprawled over her desk.

Wu Hao, fulfilling his duty as class president, suggested kindly, "Student, you look like someone who loves to study. Why don't you sit in the front?"

Ji Chuxing shook her head and said seriously, "I don't love it."

Wu Hao rubbed his nose.

Damn! Why did he feel even more subservient than in front of Lu Xing, the big shot of Nan Middle School?

Mr. Huang was puzzled but thought the new student was quite unique and had personality. Having a new student in Class 16 was a great honor. Other teachers called it a troublemaker class, but he saw potential in all of them. He always tried to teach them according to their abilities. The fact that someone had transferred in showed that they recognized his efforts.

Mr. Huang was delighted and ignored Ji Chuxing's "I don't love it."

Just then, the bell rang. He told Ji Chuxing, "Alright, Ji, study hard. I'll talk to Director Yan to get your records transferred."

He left the classroom, feeling satisfied.

The moment he left, Class 16 erupted in chaos.

Zhao Feifei, woken up by the noise, slammed her Chinese textbook on the desk. "Too loud!"

The entire class immediately fell silent.

Zhao Feifei, who had stayed up all night playing games, was extremely tired and irritable. Seeing the person next to her, she struggled to control her temper. "Who are you? Don't you know this seat is off-limits?"

Ji Chuxing blinked, looking at the girl in a black hoodie with short, neat hair, exuding a fierce aura—or rather, morning grumpiness.

She pointed to the chewing gum on Zhao Feifei's desk and swallowed. "Can I have a piece?"

Zhao Feifei: "..."

Ji Chuxing stared at the gum, her mouth watering.

A fairy-like girl giving such a pitiful look, how could Fei Jie not feel some sympathy? She gruffly said, "No," but accidentally tossed the gum to Ji Chuxing.

The class remained silent, and Wu Hao didn't dare say a word. But everyone was thinking, "What the heck?"

Zhao Feifei, realizing what she had done, was shocked. When had she become so kind? Was she easily swayed by beauty?

"Damn!" What was this? Her rebellious brain was even considering finding a peach-flavored gum for her.

Coughing lightly, Fei Jie regained her tough-girl persona, trying to sneer, but it came out more like a half-face twitch. "Do you know the rules? If you want to stay in Class 16, you have to beat me first!"

She needed to regain her dignity! This was too unbecoming of Fei Jie!

Five minutes later, a group gathered around the last row, all excited.

Zhao Feifei, with a lollipop in her mouth, was furiously tapping on her phone. Ji Chuxing, using Wu Hao's phone and his mediocre account, was thrashing Zhao Feifei in the game.

Wu Hao was ecstatic.

The other delinquents in Class 16 looked at Ji Chuxing with shining eyes, as if she were a goddess.

A minute later, Zhao Feifei collapsed on the desk, threw her phone aside, and said to Ji Chuxing, "From now on, I've got your back, Fei Jie style!"

Ji Chuxing: "Oh."

Hehe! The game was fun! This planet had more delicious and entertaining things than the G5 star system!

Wu Hao eagerly took back his phone, grinning widely, showing more respect to Ji Chuxing than he did to his own grandfather. "God, from today, you're my boss!"

He snatched a can of cola from another boy and offered it to Ji Chuxing. "Boss, take me under your wing!"

Ji Chuxing blinked, took the can, and sipped. Her eyes lit up.

Wow, it was good, sweet!

But, seeing Wu Hao's eager expression, Ji Chuxing patted his shoulder earnestly. "Your grandpa told you to study hard."

Wu Hao: "..."

Zhao Feifei: "..."

Which grandpa? His real grandpa, or you?

In less than ten minutes, Ji Chuxing had been accepted by everyone.

She had transferred from the Qi Hang class, and Wu Hao, after inquiring, found out what had happened. Learning that the delinquents in Qi Hang had treated Ji Chuxing poorly, Wu Hao was the first to stand up for her. "Boss, don't worry. I'll make sure anyone who bullies you gets what's coming to them!"

Ji Chuxing gave him a skeptical look.

Wu Hao, cowed, rubbed his nose.

Damn! How could a look from a fairy make him feel so small?

Zhao Feifei, equally indignant, stood up. "Let's go! We'll deal with them!"

"Let's go, let's go!"

A group of them swaggered out with Zhao Feifei, but within a minute, they were chased back by Mr. Huang.

He scolded them, "Go, go, go! Where are you going? Get back in here and study!"

"You little rascals, always ready to fight. And you, Zhao Feifei, sit down! You need to turn in your essay today!"

Zhao Feifei: "Damn!"

"Say that again!" Mr. Huang glared.

Zhao Feifei shut up.

If she acted up, Old Huang would tell her grandmother, the kindest person in the world to her. She didn't want to cause her grandmother any worry.

Ji Chuxing handed her a few milk candies, which Zhao Feifei grabbed and bit into, crunching loudly.

Ji Chuxing patted her shoulder. "Young people, don't get worked up."

Why use force when you can use reason?

What kind of old lady talk was this?

Her grandma didn't even talk like that!

Zhao Feifei's body jolted. "Boss, let's play a round. Rat, give me your phone!"

Ji Chuxing, not interested in playing, looked at Zhao Feifei seriously. "Have you written your essay?"

With a loud thud, Zhao Feifei's phone hit the floor, the screen shattering into pieces.
