Chapter 31: Absolute Dominatio
The next day, Ji Chuxing went to class as usual.
However, due to some well-meaning individuals, the news of her being taken away yesterday had already spread throughout Nan High School. The rumors had even become quite exaggerated, with some claiming that she had accidentally killed someone.
This changed the nature of the situation entirely.
The other students in Class 16, who were still in the dark, saw the posts on the school forum and became worried. Those who had followed Lu Xing to the Xihua Hall yesterday saw Ji Chuxing being taken away, but no one knew what the final outcome was. But now, Ji Chuxing was back at school.
Seeing her appear was quite a surprise.
A group of students quickly surrounded her.
"Ji Shen, are you okay?"
"I told you those people were just making things up. How could Ji Shen be taken away? The school forum is full of nonsense!"
Just as they were saying this, someone suddenly shouted, "Damn!"
"There's a new explosive post, but it's not about Ji Shen this time."
Everyone with a phone turned their attention to Zhou Sixue, their expressions complex.
A new post had appeared on the forum, highlighted in red and bold. However, this time the discussion wasn't about Ji Chuxing being taken away; the focus was now on Zhou Sixue. Of course, there was another post right after it, also an explosive one, still about Ji Chuxing.
Nan High hadn't seen such excitement in a long time.
The first anonymous post read: "The daughter of a murderer is in Nan High, and she's been with us every day!"
Clicking into the post revealed:
"The poster reveals: Zhou Sixue from Class 16, do you know who she is? She's the one Ji Chuxing helped fight for yesterday. Turns out, she's the daughter of a murderer. Her father ran over and killed Zheng Kuan, the dad of that troublemaking thug from the neighboring class. I always wondered why we kept getting harassed by thugs. It turns out it's because the daughter of a murderer is among us!
I strongly demand that she be expelled from Nan High. We don't want a murderer's daughter here!"
The comments below the post were harsh, layer upon layer of insults.
The students in Class 16 had all seen this post, and so they stopped and looked at Zhou Sixue, who was sitting in the corner.
Zhou Sixue was the top student in Class 16, but she usually kept a low profile and didn't attract much attention. Yesterday, however, she rushed in and stood in front of Ji Chuxing, a soft girl facing off against Brother Xing, which made everyone remember her.
Zhou Sixue seemed to have anticipated something. She raised her head from a pile of exam papers, her face instantly turning pale. Then, she quickly buried her head again, her hands frantically gathering the papers.
With a loud bang, the door was kicked open. Young Master Lu, with his hand still wrapped in bandages, said, "What are you all doing? The forum is just garbage. What are you looking at?"
Everyone immediately put down their phones.
Lu Xing glanced at Zhou Sixue, who had her head buried in the papers, and grew even more agitated. "Wait, Brother Xing will take you guys to smash the forum management office. Let's see who dares to post crap like that again!"
As he spoke, he turned to leave.
Old Huang walked in. "Lu Xing! Say that again!"
Lu Xing stiffened, about to speak, but Old Huang's stern look made him shut up immediately. He was afraid that Old Huang would say, "If you keep talking, copy the entire classical Chinese section of the textbook ten times!"
That was exactly the kind of thing Old Huang would do. And if he didn't finish, Old Huang would call his brother to report him.
But Old Huang rarely had such a serious expression, and everyone fell silent.
Although they were rebellious, they still respected Old Huang.
Old Huang scanned the classroom. "Get ready for class. Zhou Sixue, Ji Chuxing, come with me."
Ji Chuxing and Zhou Sixue left, and the classroom instantly erupted again.
"What's going on? Why are there sudden explosive posts?"
"What does Old Huang mean? Is the school really not going to handle this?"
After about ten minutes, English teacher Hua Xinli entered with her lesson plan. She slammed her things on the desk and shouted, "Quiet!"
But no one quieted down.
Hua Xinli was also the English teacher for the Qihang class. She had taken over when the original teacher went on maternity leave. She never liked the students in Class 16, and only took the job for the pay. Who would want to teach Class 16 otherwise?
A bunch of useless students!
She disliked Class 16, and the students in Class 16 disliked her. At this moment, everyone was focused on the situation with Zhou Sixue and Ji Shen. Who had the mood to care about Hua Xinli?
"Quiet! Quiet!" Hua Xinli knocked on the desk, but the classroom remained noisy. No one gave her any respect.
Hua Xinli threw her lesson plan down. "Do you still have any respect for me? Your class has caused such a commotion today. One of you is the daughter of a murderer, and the other was taken to the police station. What, do you all want to follow in Ji Chuxing and Zhou Sixue's footsteps?"
Hua Xinli looked down at the students with disdain. "Trash is trash. Your class hasn't produced a single decent person. I suggest you all drop out and become criminals. At least then, you'll be taken care of and won't waste society's resources!"
Her words were cruel.
As soon as Hua Xinli finished speaking, a thick dictionary was thrown at her. It grazed her cheek and hit the blackboard behind her with a dull thud.
Hua Xinli was shocked, her cheek burning and red. She glared at Lu Xing. "Lu Xing, are you trying to rebel?"
Lu Xing, with one arm in a sling, sneered. "Do you think you can talk trash in front of me? Who do you think you are, shouting like that?"
The rest of Class 16 was also furious, glaring at Hua Xinli with red eyes.
She often said such things during class, and they usually dealt with her later, but she had gone too far this time. Who could stand for it?
Hua Xinli sneered. "Lu Xing, huh? You think you're so capable. If you dare treat me like this, let's see how your class handles English. I'm not teaching anymore!"
Lu Xing clenched his fists. "You're the only one who knows English? Get lost, I've had enough of you!"
Hua Xinli covered her cheek. "We'll see how you manage without me. The citywide senior high exams are coming up soon. Without my help, you'll be crying!"
Some of the students' faces changed slightly. They were in their final year, with only one and a half semesters left until the college entrance exam. Although they hated Hua Xinli, they still needed her to review and explain the material.
While some students didn't care about studying, others did. But they couldn't swallow this insult to their dignity.
Hua Xinli gathered her lesson plan and was about to leave when she turned and saw a girl standing at the door.
The girl's face was expressionless, but her cold eyes made Hua Xinli feel a strange sense of panic.
Suddenly, the girl started speaking in a long string of gibberish.
Hua Xinli was dumbfounded.
So were all the students in Class 16.
Zhao Feifei, who was always late and early to leave, came in and looked curiously. "Ji Shen, what language are you speaking?"
Hua Xinli looked at Ji Chuxing in disbelief.
This was a former student from the Qihang class, a girl who had never passed an English test and had been called a failure in front of the whole class.
Back then, she had lowered her head, not daring to look at Hua Xinli.
Now, she dared to challenge her?
Hua Xinli couldn't understand, but she caught a few words. But how was this possible?
Ji Chuxing, seeing her silence, asked, "Don't understand? Should I switch languages?"
Then, she spoke another string of gibberish.
Hua Xinli was completely lost, not understanding a single word.
Ji Chuxing tilted her head, her eyes showing a bit of disdain. "Still don't get it?"
Her gaze wasn't particularly mocking, but it made Hua Xinli extremely uncomfortable.
Ji Chuxing spoke another string of gibberish, different from before.
Seeing no reaction from Hua Xinli, Ji Chuxing spoke five or six more times.
Hua Xinli slowly regained her composure and said irritably, "Showing off with this nonsense. Do you think you're a language master?"
Zhao Feifei, who hadn't understood anything else, finally recognized the last language. "Wait, isn't that Arabic? You don't understand it?"
Hua Xinli was stunned.
"Do you even know what Arabic is?" Hua Xinli snapped.
Zhao Feifei looked at her oddly but excitedly said, "Ji Shen, I didn't know you spoke Arabic so well."
Her grandmother spoke it, and she could understand it, but Ji Shen's pronunciation was even better.
Class 16 erupted in excitement.
So, Ji Shen had spoken in at least seven or eight languages, and Hua Xinli hadn't understood a single word.
And she thought Class 16 couldn't do without her?
Someone called out, "Fei Jie, what did Ji Shen say?"
Zhao Feifei waved her hand, smirking at Hua Xinli. "Oh, nothing much. Just... with this level of garbage, how dare you make such a fuss? Who gave you the confidence? If I were you, I'd jump into the Nan City River."
Hua Xinli was speechless, then enraged.
Class 16 cheered.
"Total domination, huh? That's it?"
"Seriously? Not even a match for Ji Shen's pinky finger."
Hua Xinli's face burned, and Ji Chuxing, looking at the woman still standing at the podium, rolled her eyes. "Can't even understand modern English? Who's the real garbage?"
Hua Xinli's mind exploded. "You weren't speaking English!"
Ji Chuxing shrugged. "Oh, I was speaking Northern Scottish English."
Just like Chinese has dialects, English has regional accents. The pronunciation in different areas varies, and even more so in older periods compared to the modern 26-letter system. Northern Scottish English originated from a medieval dialect and differs slightly from the official version.
So, Hua Xinli understood two words but nothing else.
Hua Xinli, utterly defeated, stormed out. "You, you wait and see!"
The classroom erupted again.
"Ji Shen!"
"Ji Shen, you're awesome!"
Ji Chuxing took a deep breath. "Noisy."
Having just come from a chaotic meeting with the principal, she just wanted some peace and to enjoy her milk candies.
Everyone immediately quieted down.
