The Almighty Diva: Reborn to be Worshipped

Chapter 16: Starlight Treasure

After leaving the Wen family villa, Ji Chuxing didn't pull her hand away from Bo Yanchen's grip. With a serious expression, she reminded him, "I told you, you can't call me 'kid' or 'little girl.'"

Bo Yanchen raised an eyebrow, clearly amused.

Her hand was small and soft in his. She might look fierce on the surface, but deep down, she was so sweet and obedient that he couldn't help wanting to spoil her. Right now, chewing on her milk candy with a pouty expression—wasn't she still just a child?

"What should I call you then?" Bo Yanchen asked teasingly.

Ji Chuxing chewed slowly, glancing at him sideways. "I have a name."

"Oh," Bo Yanchen nodded knowingly, letting her climb into the car first before following suit. Seeing her reach for jelly after finishing her candy, he said gently, "We're having dinner soon. No more snacks."

Reluctantly, Ji Chuxing set the jelly aside.

Bo Yanchen smiled warmly. "Good girl."

Ji Chuxing ignored him.

With a casual gaze, Bo Yanchen studied her face and murmured softly, "Xingbao."

Ji Chuxing froze almost imperceptibly, then turned her head slowly to meet his amused grin.

She stared at him for several seconds before muttering, "Shut your mouth!"

Before she could say anything else, a piece of milk candy was popped into her mouth, leaving her momentarily stunned.

Bo Yanchen's voice dripped with affection. "Don't be mad. Here's some candy. We'll get ice cream after dinner."

Ji Chuxing blinked, instantly placated. "And bubble tea."

"Sure thing!" Bo Yanchen agreed readily.

Pleased, Ji Chuxing shook her head happily, causing the little tuft of hair on top to bounce up and down. Bo Yanchen chuckled quietly to himself.

She insisted he not call her a kid, but wasn't she acting exactly like one? So easy to please—a single piece of candy was all it took.

But…

Xingbao…

He rolled the nickname around in his mind. It had been her late grandfather's favorite term of endearment for her, and no one had called her that since his passing. Though she'd protested, Bo Yanchen could tell she secretly liked it.

Wasn't she just a precious little treasure?

As they prepared to drive off, someone appeared outside Bo Yanchen's window—it was Wen Lianan. He'd followed them out and witnessed how the usually cold and prickly Ji Chuxing had transformed into a docile presence by Bo Yanchen's side.

A strange sense of loss washed over Wen Lianan, though he couldn't quite explain why he was standing there. By the time he realized where he was, he found himself in front of Bo Yanchen's car.

"Mr. Wen, is there something you need?" Bo Yanchen asked coolly.

Wen Lianan's gaze shifted to Ji Chuxing. Her expression remained indifferent. After a pause, he spoke softly, "I'm sorry."

Ji Chuxing didn't respond.

Taking a deep breath, Wen Lianan continued, "The Wen family has wronged you."

Ji Chuxing shrugged indifferently. "What does it have to do with me?"

She didn't care about the Wen family's attitude toward her—they held no place in her heart. Or perhaps, she simply didn't care about Zhou Ru.

Wen Lianan was taken aback, unable to find the words to reply.

Bo Yanchen chuckled softly, closed the car window, and drove away.

As usual, Bo Yanchen took Ji Chuxing to the finest restaurant in Nan City.

During the meal, another guest arrived—Wei Xingzhou. He had come specifically to see Ji Chuxing. From yesterday until now, he'd heard Bo Yanchen constantly refer to her as "my little darling" and "the girl."

At first, Wei Xingzhou thought Bo Yanchen had finally softened, but now he understood: this man was eager to adopt a ready-made daughter.

Curious, Wei Xingzhou decided to see what kind of person she was. Upon meeting Ji Chuxing, he was amazed. The girl truly resembled a fairy—no wonder Bo Yanchen cherished her so much and talked about her endlessly.

Beautiful people were naturally likable. Wei Xingzhou thought she had the potential to become his younger sister, so he greeted her warmly, "Hello there, little miss! I'm a friend of Second Master Bo. You can call me Brother Wei!"

"Shut up!"

Two voices rang out simultaneously—one unmistakably Bo Yanchen's, the other Ji Chuxing's.

The room fell silent for a moment. Then, a second later:

"Who are you to call her 'little miss'?"

"Don't call me 'little miss'!"

Again, their voices chimed in unison.

Wei Xingzhou looked wounded, clutching his chest dramatically as he gazed at Ji Chuxing with a hurt expression.

Ji Chuxing paid him no attention, thoroughly enjoying her sweet-and-sour squirrel fish.

Sigh… The term "little miss" wasn't cute at all!

It should be like calling Bo Yanchen—she should be addressed as "Master"! Now *that* would be impressive!

Wei Xingzhou glanced at the overly sweet dishes on the table, hesitating to touch them. He looked at Bo Yanchen as if he were mad. "You actually eat this stuff?"

Bo Yanchen raised an eyebrow, about to respond, when a waiter wheeled in another cart laden with dishes—this time, ones Ji Chuxing had ordered separately for him.

Bo Yanchen's eyebrows shot up in surprise. So, his little Xingbao had gone through the trouble of ordering dishes just for him?

He smiled tenderly. "My Xingbao is being thoughtful, isn't she?"

The fierce Xingbao huffed indignantly. "Hmph, I am not!"

Bo Yanchen laughed, delighted by her transparent denial.

Wei Xingzhou stared at Bo Yanchen as if he were insane and eventually gave up, ordering his own dishes instead.
