Chapter 5: School (5)
Sora reluctantly walked away, he would be back, and those sweet, sweet books of knowledge would soon be his to master.
His gaze lingered on Uryu just for a moment, he watched as the boy seemed to be a mix of confusion and mild amusement....he wondered why.
Choosing to make small talk, he engaged the rather annoying kid.
"Hey, kid," Sora said, pointing a thumb at himself. "What's your name anyway?"
He did it perfectly, he may have been a calm person, but oh well small talk wasn't his strong point, plus Uryu might be his card into learning the Quincy way or something like that.
It shouldn't be that hard to trick a kid right?
"Uryu Ishida," the boy replied simply, adjusting his glasses.
"Uryu, huh?" Sora repeated as if to make sure he had memorized the boy's name by heart.
Well now that he had the boy's name, now time for him to bless the boy with his name.
" I am Sora. Nice to meet ya, Kid." He gave a very playful grin as he looked at the boy.
Uryu frowned slightly. "I'm nine. You don't look much older than me."
Well to be fair, Sora was also around that age park, around 9 or 10, he forgot, as up until he had gained that drive to keep on living a week ago, he had been depressed for a while.
His mother's death hit him....hard.
He probably wouldn't fully move on from it for a long...long...time.
Well, his feeling of depression probably would go away soon enough, unless it's revealed that the reason his mom died was due to someone else taking her life in order to gain more power, he doesn't think his feelings would change anytime soon.
However, if that did happen, he would hate that person from the bottom of his heart and would not stop until nothing remained of them.
Anyway, he should be 10, so he is still technically older than Uryu, which means.
"Details, details," Sora waved dismissively. "So, Uryu, I gotta ask—what's it like being a Quincy?"
The younger boy blinked at the sudden question. "What do you mean?"
"You know, the powers, the history, the training—how does it work? Can you make those cool blue bows yet?" Sora's questions tumbled out one after another, his eyes sparkling with genuine curiosity.
The boy's face turned slightly pink...he didn't know much, he had only started training under his grandpa about a month ago,
"I don't know much," he admitted, looking down. "I've only just started learning."
He basically said the truth, however, Sora needed more...Sora needed a lot more.
"Come on," Sora pressed, leaning forward. "You've gotta know something. The way Reishi's been moving around your veins lately—don't think I didn't notice—you've been practicing, right?"
Uryu paused for a second...wait, Sora could see that. He was just practicing a move his grandpa had shown him.
Blut Vein was the name, he wasn't a full-blood Quincy and thus he actually needed to learn it and could not actually do it from the get-go.
Sora however did notice the way the Reishi did flow in Uryu vein, he could probably mimic it.
He understood it.
His left arm now seems to possess a bunch of blue veins....well that was easy.
Uryu however did not notice any of that and just added.
"Well... yeah. My grandpa's been teaching me some basics. Just a little, though."
At this, Sora's grin widened. "Your grandpa, huh? That's awesome!"
Then, as if a light bulb had gone off in his head, Sora's expression shifted to one of exaggerated pleading. He clasped his hands together, his eyes growing impossibly large and shiny. "Uryu, please, please, pleeeeease let me train with your grandpa too!"
Uryu blinked at him, visibly taken aback. "What? No. That's not how it works."
Uryu was confused, how does one switch personality so quickly.....how?
"Why not?" Sora whined, his puppy-dog expression unwavering. "I'm super dedicated! I'd be the best student ever!"
"Father would be against it" U.
"Heh, who cares what he thinks, not like he can stop me or anything "S
Time skip.
Sora was currently seen sitting inside a classroom, listening intently as the teacher taught the class about the basic stuff.
Uryu in the corner was seen holding in a laugh.
Sora gave Uryu a glare as if to say.
'I fucking dare you to laugh'
If you are wondering how Sora got into this position the answer is simple....
The man he said could not stop him, just so happened to be the man paying for his cost of living and the house he was living in.
Tldr, he was enrolled in a school and sent to school the next day....
He had a gut feeling, the man sent him now because his control over his Reiatsu had gotten better over the last couple of days.
His Reiatsu level should be around the same level as an ordinary human, that was while being suppressed.
Unsuppress he doesn't think there is anyone in this town close to his level.
As far as he could tell, he had more spiritual energy than Ryuken, that didn't mean he could beat the man in a fight, that meant he just had more ammunition to use.
A good way to compare it would be that he and Ryuken had an AK-47...and while Ryuken had 40 bullets, he had roughly around 80 ish.
The fact that he has more bullets doesn't mean he is better, it just means he could use a lot more moves.
The bastard.
