Tales of Tytaura

Chapter 13: Chapter 13

"So… maybe I should have asked this sooner but, is there anything I should know about the wifey before I meet her?" Rem asked as if the question had been an afterthought.

"Well. She can be the jealous type for sure but… Ah you should be fine." Matt replied

"Oh so she may try to kill me the moment she sees us walking through the door together. Noted." Rem responded with a shrug of her shoulders.

Both Matt and Rem had finally made their way to the Sakura Keep and were now headed down the hall towards Akira's study. The duo had been met at the front gate by a pair of guards as well as Aida who had been kind enough to let them know that Akira was still in her study and had a guest the last she'd heard. Matt thanked her for the update and asked if the others he had left with that morning had returned yet. Aida shook her head but she reassured Matt that they'd be fine.

"Believe it or not, those three had always been a little close with each other even before you arrived here Chief. They are probably off doing whatever it is those youngsters get into." Aida laughed

Matt had wanted to ask her what she meant by youngsters. To Matt, Aida looked to be relatively around the same age as Flow and Pyre. Though he understood that some races aged differently and perhaps Aida was actually older than the others were. Deciding to follow the ancient proverbs of never asking a woman her age, Matt decided it better to just let that one go for now and take her word that the others would be fine.

After thanking Aida for her help, Matt led Rem inside and through the manor until they came to the long hallway that led to Akira's study. There were several large windows on the right side of the corridor that spanned both the height and length of the wall leading all the way to the wooden door at the end of the hall. The other wall on the other side of the corridor was mostly covered in paintings and tapestries of beautiful forests and landscapes except for one. The newly hung painting sat in the middle of the wall and was much larger than any of the other pieces of artwork that hung around it. Matt paused for a moment in front of the large painting and frowned slightly as he folded his arms over his chest.

"I still don't like it." He muttered just loud enough for his companion to hear him.

"What do you mean? Who doesn't love looking at a giant picture of themselves?" Rem replied as she stood beside Matthew and copied his stance.

The painting of both the Matriarch of Venindale and her husband had been Akira's idea, much to Matt's dismay. He had always hated pictures of himself, even a kid. When Akira had brought the painter in to make the piece, Matt had tried to voice his protest but was quickly overruled by his wife.

"Honestly though, it's kinda metal though" Rem said nodding her head in approval as she looked up at the painting.

"Oh yeah? How so?" Matt asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Well you got a fucking bombshell of wife. Which by the way shame on you that the first picture I see of her is a painting on the wall in your own god damn house…" Rem started before she stared up at Matt with a judgmental glare.

"Tiny Violin," Matt responded.

"Fuck you. But anyways. Hot ass wife, big scary watchdog husband in full kit standing behind her. Screams fucking power couple. If only the husband wasn't such a bitch." Rem sighed as she said the last part and shook her head disappointedly.

Matt didn't reply with a verbal response but he instead struck Rem on the back of her head with his open hand before he turned and continued his way down the hall. Rem caught up with him a moment later, shooting him another glare that he promptly ignored as they neared the door.

"Best behavior." Matt reminded Rem when they finally reached the door.

"Hai, Onii-chan" Rem said in her best anime girl voice, which had always been a little too spot on sometimes.

"No. Stop. Bad girl." Matt replied, karate chopping his companion on the head before she could continue any further just as the door began to open.

"Oh? And who might this be?"

The voice was sweet and carried like the tune of a melody but Matt could almost hear the slight bit of venom laced within the words. A pair of large green eyes peered through the small gap between the door and frame. Matt felt them staring into his soul through his own eyes and felt a heavy weight on his shoulders before he even had a chance to reply. Luckily, either all of his wife's ire was aimed at him, or Rem was doing a much better job holding up under his wife's attack than he thought she would. He could see her out of the corner of his eye with her best "Meeting the in-laws" smile as she called it, as she could.

"Honey, sorry I'm late but may we come in? I brought someone I'd like to introduce to you if you're not too busy?"

Matt was putting on his best smile as well as he awaited his wife's response. He knew she was the jealous type and he was doing his best to keep her calm after he had clearly brought another woman home with him. The pair of green eyes continued to stare unblinking at him through the door for a moment longer before Matt felt the weight slowly subside from his shoulders as he heard a sigh from the other side of the door before it began to open further revealing Akira standing on the other side. Her arms were crossed over her chest as she stood in the middle of the doorway and her gaze no longer was on Matt, but on Rem who was standing beside him. Akira's eyes flicked up and down Rem as if sizing her up while Rem did the same back to her, though Matt had a feeling that one of them was definitely having slightly more indecent thoughts then the other.

"Apologies for the intrusion ma'am." Rem said as she put on a show of bowing deeply to Akira with her left hand over her own chest and her other arm outstretched to the side. "My name is Holly Remington. Vice Commander of the Proctors and Bravo Two. I am also your husband's beloved little sister both in arms and by adoption. It is my pleasure to meet you."

Matt watched as Rem nearly prostrated herself in front of his wife as she bowed so low and announced herself as his little sister. He was dying from second hand embarrassment by her actions but Matt noticed a slight curve in his wife's lips while she looked down at the woman before her. A small wave of relief washed over him as he noticed the three of them weren't alone as a fourth being stood inside the room behind his wife. She was a tall, slender looking woman with silvery white hair and long pointed ears that clearly made her some kind of elf. She was holding her head in her hand and was shaking it slowly as her eyes bore holes into the top of Rem's head who was still bent over. Matt guessed she must have been Rem's boss that she had briefly told him about, making her the Commander of the Proctors.

"Ah. So this is your little Vice Commander?" Akira said with a slight chuckle in her voice as she turned to face the woman inside the room.

The elven woman let out a sigh and nodded reluctantly with her shoulders slumped forward a little before she seemed to realize Matt's presence for the first time and straightened out a bit.

"And this must be your…husband?" the elf replied with her nose held slightly high as if she was trying to look taller than him, even though he was clearly a giant to her as well.

The two women stared at the both Matt and Rem in the hallway for a moment before both their characters began to break a little and small fits of giggles quickly gave way to laughter from the two woman.

"Holy shit you weren't lying. He's a fucking giant!" the elf woman laughed.

"And I see why you like this one so much too," Akira replied, still laughing as she reached a hand out and put it on Rem's shoulder, encouraging her to finally stand up.

She then pulled Rem into her arms and Akira hugged the smaller woman tight, nearly pressing her face into her breasts as she held Rem in her arms.

"I can't believe I actually get to meet my beloved's little sister! Aren't you just so adorable?"

For the first time ever, Matt saw Rem look uncomfortable to be smothered in another woman's bosom as she looked at him with a wide eyed expression on her face. Normally his shameless little sister would be in heaven with such an act being carried out on her. He even half expected her to try and push the boundaries a little by grabbing his wife's rear or something, but she remained stiff with her hands held out to her side a little. It was when Matt caught the expression of the elven woman when he realized what was really going on here. It wasn't his sister being the delinquent, but his wife this time.

The elven woman's face was slowly turning red as she stared daggers down at Rem while she was being smothered in Akira's chest. It was clear and evident to Matt now that there was a thing between Rem and the Elven woman, and Akira knew it. She was the one pushing the boundaries with her friend instead and by the sly smile Matt saw growing on her lips, she had gotten exactly the reaction she had wanted.

'That sly girl,' Matt thought and shook his head as Akira finally released Rem from her chest.

"Come! Come! Sit down! I feel like we have so much to talk about, you and I. Especially since we are sisters and all now. I want to hear all about you two growing up."

Akira took Rem by the hand and quickly began to lead her over towards one of the sofas in the room, taking her right past the elven woman. Matt was enjoying the look on Rem's face as for once, she was clearly the one who was being made to feel uncomfortable. There was a slight tinge of red to her cheeks as she was dragged along to one of the sofas and was immediately pushed down onto the cushion by Akira. Matt had half expected his wife to suddenly sit uncomfortably close to Rem but instead, she reached over and grabbed the elven woman's arm and made her sit on the other side of Rem. Both women's faces glowed red as they were forced to sit so close to one another and avoided eye contact with the other. Matt had to admit, he was slightly shocked to see his little sister look so bashful for once.

'Watch out Remmy. Looks like you've met your match.' Matt thought as he watched his wife sit down across from the other women with a huge grin on her lips.

Akira paused and looked over her shoulder back at Matt who was still standing by himself outside the room. She had a playful grin on her face as she looked into his eyes and slapped the open seat cushion beside her. Matt chuckled and shook his head a little. No, Rem hadn't actually met her match yet. His wife was just in an entirely other league of her own.

"Come on dear! Come sit. I can't wait to hear all about your childhood."
