Chapter 17: Chapter 16 – Roxas’ Native Language
Evil Kirito's POV
That kid…he must be cheating to boost his stats without working hard on it…
These words are towards this kid named Roxas Nietes, or, according to his player name, Rohasu Nitama.
So, I teleported from The Tower to near their location to question him for that.
If he did cheat, I'll punish him by killing him.
Third person POV
Meanwhile, at the park, Roxas and Minato are taking a break from their training session with Anko. Anko asked them about themselves, except that he already knew Roxas by name.
"My name is Minato Arakaki," Minato replied back brightly and with awesome confidence. "I am in the same grade as Ro-kun. I am an excellent gamer."
"Oh, nice to meet you, Minato-kun," Anko responded back. "My name is Tachibana Anko. Did you just call Roxas like that?"
"Yeah, to make it easier."
"Ah, okay then.'
The spirit of the young dead player then looked at Roxas. "Hey, Roxas-kun, you're from another country, right?"
"Yes, I am from the Philippines," Roxas replied back positively. "How did you know that?"
"I looked into your memories of your body."
"Oh…right, because you're a spirit so you can do that."
Anko then nodded happily.
And then, while the three boys are having a good time, Evil Kirito came to the scene, greeting them with an innocent look on his face to hide his evil self, "Hello there, boys." Roxas, Minato, and Anko heard that and looked at him. Roxas and Minato are fearful of him, while Anko remains cheery and brave towards him.
"Can I ask one of you a question?" Evil Kirito asked them while maintaining his mask of innocence.
"Uh, sure…" Minato replied back, not wanting to get hurt or intimidated by him.
Evil Kirito then looked at Roxas seriously. "You there, answer this question: did you cheat here in this game?"
"What? No," Roxas denied.
"Oh really?" Kirito intimidated Roxas in response. "Then why your stats had boosted somehow?"
"Oh, that?" Roxas replied back while being fearful of him. "Well…I don't even know how that's all."
His mind then said, "Nope, absolutely not. Don't reveal how you did it!"
Kirito narrowed his eyes at Roxas and his statement in suspicion, thinking that he was lying.
But the evil gamer buys it and warns him about cheating in the game with a brutal punishment for committing it.
"Y-Yes!" Roxas stammered.
The young foreigner then said that line in his native language, Tagalog.
Kirito was confused by his next line. "What?"
"Woah, that was cool," Anko commented on Roxas' line while being ignored by Evil Kirito.
"That means yes in the polite form of my native language, Tagalog," Roxas explained.
He said that line in Tagalog intentionally as a tactic towards Evil Kirito.
Kirito unsurprisingly got that and said, "Okay then, interesting…stay out of trouble, okay?"
"Yes, we will!" Minato responded on his friend's behalf.
With that Evil Kirito turned around and left the scene, before teleporting away. After that, Roxas, Minato, and Anko sighed in relief.
"That was so close…"
"Man, scary…"
"Good thing that Elite Player doesn't even notice me."
The term Elite Player stunned and puzzled Roxas and Minato.
