Sword Arts Online: Darkness

Chapter 16: Chapter 15 – Anko’s Training and Free Gift for Roxas

Third person POV

Later after that, Anko led Roxas and Minato to a park within one of the safe zones in the Kanagawa ward. There he showed them the basics of sword fighting with demonstrations in the basic forms. Roxas and Minato are watching him and listening to him very attentively, wanting to know the basics of it as much as they can. Minato wants to boast how he, a gamer, knew some of the basics of sword fighting, but Roxas tells him off, saying, "Hey, boasting is never a good thing. That would make you a liar and a hypocrite."

Now Minato understood that and apologized to him with some embarrassment.,

After his series of demonstrations in sword fighting, Anko walked up to Roxas and touched his forehead with his right index finger. "Before we begin, I'll give you something in exchange for your accepting of my request for help." Roxas was a bit confused by it, but a flash of light appeared before him, blinding him.

"Woah, what was that?" Minato was surprised to see that.

After a couple of seconds, the flash of light subsided, and at first, nothing seemed to happen.

But, Roxas, who opened his eyes and was a bit confused by what had happened, opened his stats, only to see that they were given a big jump boost of their levels.

Some aspects like strength and endurance had been boosted.

His current level is now 21 with some experience close to the next level.

Roxas' stats were boosted by Anko to be more like his.

"Ta-dah!" Anko said to him and Minato. "I bestowed my stats to you."

Roxas and Minato were stunned to hear that.

 "What?!"

 "Is that even cheating?"

Anko then shrugged while being carefree. "These stats are my free gift for Roxas-kun."

"Are you sure about the game catching me or you for cheating?" Roxas asked him.

"Don't worry, it won't find out because I am dead, and thus, my records and stats are in your hands, making the system think that you worked hard to achieve that much in a short period of time."

Roxas was dumbfounded, and the young foreign student thought in his mind, "Oh, flip…"

Minato was shocked still but was amazed by it. "Wow! That was amazing! It's like hacking in a dead person's stats into the game and bam, you had that guy's stats."

He then glanced at Anko. "How about me?"

"Do you have a spirit guardian of your own?" Anko abruptly asked him.

"No?" Minato replied back while being puzzled.

"Then unfortunately, you can't at this rate. You have to grind a lot to boost your stats and everything."

This disappointed Minato so much. "Man, that was unfair…"

But Roxas and Anko told him not give up and just do his best.

Anko added, "If you find a request on the internet by someone, that someone must be a dead player in this game. When you reply to that request, either in text or email form, you will be given that person's stats, and also, you're in contract with the spirit of that person, and that person will heal you and prevent from dying in this game."

Minato was amazed by all the perks of being in a contract with the spirit of a dead player. "Woah…I better check my phone for that later."

 "Yup." Roxas nodded in agreement.

After that, the three of them began their training session with Anko. Both Roxas and Minato were filled with determination to survive in this game.

But, meanwhile, at the game's The Tower, Evil Kirito and one of his friends, Evil Klein, checked that Roxas' stats were boosted mysterious and were displeased by it, thinking that Roxas must have cheated to do that. But it wasn't the case. Both didn't know that someone who was deceased did it.
