Superhero Class: Finding Meaning of Life in another world

Chapter 6: changes in soul strength

[Brave warrior, it has been some time since you last went to the Abyssal battlefield.]

[It is advisable that you visit the Battlefield as soon as possible.]

[Proceed with the transfer: Yes or No?]

Dawn looked at the window hanging in front of his vision and frowned, wondering why the Blue window was asking for his permission now, as earlier it had directly sent him to the battlefield without caring about his opinion.

Unconsciously, Dawn kicked his legs in the air while thinking.

It had been a couple of days since he woke up from his deep sleep; the last visit to Abyssal battlefield seemed to have drained all of his mental strength.

As someone from the modern era with entertainment and dopamine levels shooting through the roof all the time, the sudden inability to watch or read something made every passing moment agonizing.

Sometimes his mind would be filled with a strong urge to click "Yes" and immediately descend to the Eternal battlefield as if he was possessed, but then the sight of the monster would make him reconsider his action.

Although it had been days in real world, there was no guarantee that time flow in the Eternal battlefield was the same, the monster could still be waiting for him.

"What if the monster is still there? Wouldn't I be instantly killed?"

"I need to gather as much information as possible before going to the battlefield again."

Dawn had to stop thinking when he felt a strong warm and slightly wet sensation on his legs.

Immediately he realized his predicament and cursed, "Fuck! What is wrong with this new body of mine?"

Dawn was already bored to death, and the situation became even worse when his body would automatically eject waste materials in the form of poop and pee.

He raised his chubby little head to stealthily look around to see if anyone had noticed his embarrassing moment.

Noticing there was no one, he let out a sigh of relief.

However, it appeared he had gotten happy too early, as in the next moment the gate of the room opened and a maid calmly walked inside.

Dawn immediately recognised the her, from the conversation that he had overheard the maid name was Fiona.

Moreover Dawn had long noticed other than Fiona and some other servant's no was allowed to enter his room probably due to safety reasons.

It didn't take long for the Fiona to notice Dawn's proud work. She immediately let out a small smile and picked up Dawn from his original position and laid him somewhere warm while she busied herself cleaning the bed sheets.

Looking at the maid working diligently, Dawn thought of his mother and wondered where she was.

It had been some days since he last saw her, which was really odd—which mother would spend days without seeing her newborn child?

"I wonder what she is doing," Dawn mused while thinking about various pointless things which helped him ignore the temptations of the "Yes" button on the blue window.

"Young master! Now you can sleep once more, but before that, here's your daily tasty food."

After cleaning the bed, Fiona washed her hands and brought a small jade box from somewhere in the room.

Dawn looked at the box while rolling his eyes sideways and knew it was time for him to eat this strange but desirable elixir.

If he wasn't wrong, this was the soul-strengthening elixir which the Divine Doctor was talking about.

Dawn had to give credit where it was due—the Elixir was indeed miraculous.

Before he could think about anything further, she took out a purple marble-like candy from the box and brought it closer to Dawn's face.

"Young master Dawn, open your mouth," the maid, whose name Dawn didn't know, said in a gentle voice.

Dawn was already looking forward to eating the Elixir, and before the words had left the maid's mouth, he had already obediently opened his mouth as wide as he possibly could, his two small gemstone-like eyes filled with expectations.

After placing the soul-strengthening elixir in his mouth, the maid pinched Dawn's chubby cheeks with her soft white hands and played with him to distract him, as these Elixirs were infamous for their horrible taste.

"Who the hell made this dog shit elixir?" Dawn cursed inside his head while holding the urge to throw up directly on the maid's face. It was with great mental strength that he was able to control himself.

The maid looked at Dawn with wide eyes. Even though she had already seen it before, each time Dawn's reaction left her surprised.

"Young Dawn is really sensible... hehe." While saying these words, she lightly tickled Dawn's neck in an attempt to elicit a small reaction from him.

Eliciting a small reaction from Dawn had become the maid's favorite pastime activity, as Dawn himself rarely reacted to anything—he would never cry unlike other children.

"Hehe..." Dawn wasn't able to hold himself back, and a small babyish laugh escaped his lips.

The maid immediately let out a small triumphant smile and felt a little proud of herself.

"Stop playing with me and go away," Dawn internally thought while rolling his eyes at the maid's actions. After his experience in the hospital, he didn't have a good opinion of these people who took care of him.

Unfortunately, the maid couldn't hear Dawn's internal thoughts, and after playing and tormenting Dawn for some time, she left.

Dawn was left alone in the room with his own thoughts.

Time continued to pass, but Dawn's thoughts continued to drift towards the blue screen, which appeared even more enticing and inviting.

Dawn pretended to wipe away the imaginary sweat on his eyebrows and let out a tired sigh.

Days continued to pass like this one after the other, and one week passed in the blink of an eye. Every day the maid would take care of Dawn, from feeding him to changing his diapers.

His mother also came to visit him yesterday, but Dawn noticed her mental state wasn't normal—something heavy seemed to be weighing on her mind. As for his father, he wasn't seen anywhere.

Although Dawn pretended not to care about his parents, inwardly he was a little disappointed.

After all, which kid didn't want to be pampered and spoiled by their parents' love and affection?

Dawn's train of thoughts was broken by the maid's voice: "Young master Dawn, say ahhh!"

Without hesitating, Dawn opened his mouth and gobbled the soul-strengthening elixir. Immediately his eyes widened like saucers in amazement.

Dawn realized something had changed about him—the soul-strengthening elixir was finally starting to show its effect.

Under Dawn's eyes, the world around him suddenly changed, becoming more colorful and vibrant as if someone had suddenly changed the resolution from 144p to 1080p.

"Amazing, this world is really magical!"

To understand the changes better, he summoned his status screen.
