Snowstorm: I'm Super Rich in the Apocalypse

Chapter 7: Chapter 7 The Final Preparation

Today, both of them skipped eating at the restaurant and bought some food to eat in the car, saving time. After finishing their meal, they went directly to buy gasoline.

They bought some gasoline at one station, stored it in the "Space", then bought more.

During the trip, they changed clothes several times. Gu Pan had bought a wig yesterday just for using now, switching hairstyles to avoid suspicion while making purchases.

They bought a hundred barrels of gasoline, all stored in the "Space".

Busy until the evening, they went to rent cars, naturally opting for good ones since it was just renting.

They rented a new nine-layer Hummer and an off-road vehicle, saying they were planning a self-driving tour.

They returned the small truck they had rented, and each drove off in their vehicle, first going to the old house to pick up a generator and diesel, then going out to scour for more goods.

This time it was a supermarket, with many goods; they might recall what they lacked upon seeing it.

They approached the supermarket manager directly, claiming they needed snacks for 200 people for a seven-day team-building trip to an island.

The manager was naturally pleased and led them straight to the warehouse.

Without much discussion, they shopped for thirty thousand yuan, and in the process, Gu Pan bought another ten boxes of feminine hygiene products, just in case the ones from the small market might cause allergies.

Then, they bought all the self-heating pots and instant noodles available.

Passing by the alcohol section, Gu Pan thought of the phrase: cigarettes, liquor, sugar, and tea. Although not essential for survival in the apocalypse, they were indeed commodities that uplift the spirits.

She even saw a man who wished to smoke a cigarette before dying.

So, they bought those too at the supermarket.

After completing the purchases, the manager mentioned delivery would be tomorrow, but Lu Ruisheng gave the manager a 500-yuan red envelope to ensure immediate delivery, with the same old house as the delivery address.

After everything was settled, Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng followed to the old house, signed for the goods, and stored them all in the "Space".

Entering the "Space", they were astonished by the amount they had gathered. Of course, they had now only two hundred thousand yuan left after spending almost all their mortgage money.

But they weren't panicked at all, knowing that these items would be worth more than twenty billion in the apocalypse.

Three days before the apocalypse, they had their house's windows changed to bulletproof, one-way mirrored ones.

Their house's curtains were already of excellent quality for blocking light, so there was no need to replace them.

Then, they bought car parts, since there would be nowhere to fix cars after the apocalypse. Although Lu Ruisheng knew some about cars, stocking up on more parts still felt safer, they even rented two more Hummers, just to be sure.

They switched the old water in the house's storage tank with fresh water kept in the "Space", changing the water tank every night.

Two days before the apocalypse, they stockpiled enough medicine and anonymously sent some instant noodles and self-heating meals to friends and clients with whom they had good relationships.

Gu Pan also sent a personal care package and a month's worth of survival supplies to her close friends, Tian Zhenzhen and Dong Mingyue.

Lu Ruisheng sent a month's worth of supplies and a first aid kit to Guo Gang, considering his family had elderly members.

Today, Lu Ruisheng also received weapon assembly parts, which made him feel more secure.

On the day before the apocalypse, they drove out in the morning to spend the rest of their money on seeds because if they survived into the new era, cultivation would be vital, and seeds couldn't simply be bought with money.

On the way back, they scoped out the entrances of several large shopping malls in the city again, so when chaos ensued, they could plunder for free.

Afterward, they went to the old house to store the remaining water tanks in the Space; all ten water tanks had been filled up these days.

In the afternoon, they did not return home but headed to the entrance of Zhuang Jie's residential complex. Tomorrow would be the apocalypse, and today Zhuang Jie would surely make one last check on the contents of the warehouse, because the sudden blizzard had lasted ten days, and it was impossible to go out during those days, making today the easiest time to follow Zhuang Jie and find the warehouse location.

Watching Zhuang Jie drive out, Lu Ruisheng followed him, driving a newly rented car. Both of them were also disguised, so Zhuang Jie would never recognize them.

Lu Ruisheng, being an ex-special forces operative, found tracking to be child's play.

They soon followed him to the north of the city where all the factories were located, a very well-chosen spot by him.

Zhuang Jie parked his car and entered a furniture factory. It was quite a while before he came out, and after that, he drove towards Gu Pan's house.

But Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng did not know this and, of course, did not care about it. They saw Zhuang Jie leave and got out of the car to head to the warehouse.

The large iron door even had an electronic lock.

Lu Ruisheng had Gu Pan take out the climbing rope from the Space, fixing one end on the chimney of the warehouse, then climbed up and entered the warehouse through a skylight.

Once inside, he made sure there were no surveillance cameras before opening the iron door from the inside, then excitedly pulled Gu Pan inside and said, "Panpan, Zhuang Jie really hasn't skimped on buying, even more than us. It seems his family really has deep pockets."

Gu Pan's eyes also shone, "Let all his dreams shatter in this lifetime." After saying this, she quickly stored everything in the Space.

When they entered the Space again, they found that the current items filled more than half of the Space.

At the onset of the apocalypse, they could still go out and scavenge a good deal, essentially a free shopping spree.

When they arrived home, Zhuang Jie was anxiously pacing at the doorway, "Brother Lu, sister-in-law, you're finally back. Let me in for a drink of water, I'm dying of thirst."

He did not know that his house had been burglarized and was still thinking about entering the house to find another opportunity to grab the pendant. If he could get the pendant today, then those supplies could be stored before the apocalypse, ensuring better preservation. If he waited until the apocalypse arrived, many things would no longer be fresh.

Lu Ruisheng frowned and said, "Let's talk downstairs, your sister-in-law has gone crazy."

Gu Pan glared at Lu Ruisheng, displaying a deeply aggrieved expression, then slammed the door shut as she entered the house.

Zhuang Jie, in his past life, had sought refuge with Lu Ruisheng over a month into the apocalypse because his house was on a lower floor and it had become too cold. Back then, Lu Ruisheng and Gu Pan were on good terms; it seems like after the apocalypse, they also discarded past conflicts and supported each other—the only explanation.

But he had nothing to say to Lu Ruisheng now, nor did he want to waste time; suddenly, he had an idea—was the chance occurrence with the pendant the same as in his previous life, or would it have to wait two months into the apocalypse?

As it was getting colder outside, he was also worried about the elderly and children at home, so Zhuang Jie sighed, "Brother Lu, don't get too worked up. I just came to check on you because I was worried. You really should make up with your sister-in-law and stop arguing. I'm not here for anything serious; seeing you guys eases my mind, so I'll be heading back."

Lu Ruisheng was quite the actor, "Let me walk you out; let's find a restaurant downstairs for a drink."

Zhuang Jie quickly waved his hands, "No, Brother Lu, if I go back late, my wife will be angry, too," and then he hurried away.

Seeing Zhuang Jie leave, Lu Ruisheng opened the door, entered the house, and embraced Gu Pan who was eavesdropping at the door, laughing, "Was my acting good?"

Gu Pan also laughed and kissed him on the face, "I really didn't expect you to be such a good actor."

Before Gu Pan knew about Zhuang Jie's rebirth, she had thought in this life she would watch his family suffer and die in agony. But ever since she learned about Zhuang Jie's rebirth, her thoughts had changed; she and her husband had agreed, once the apocalypse led to a loss of order, to take care of Zhuang Jie and his wife first to avoid future troubles.

Both were in particularly good spirits today because their supplies had doubled, and although there were overlaps in the items both sides had prepared, there were also things they hadn't anticipated, which truly was icing on the cake.

At that moment, someone knocked on the door, and both of them heightened their alertness.
