Snowstorm: I'm Super Rich in the Apocalypse

Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Continue Stockpiling Supplies

They had these items delivered to the van and then went shopping for shoes: snow boots, rain boots, sneakers, slippers, and so on, buying every kind they saw that might be useful.

Here there were also bedding, so they handled that too, buying dozens of feather and cotton comforters in various thicknesses, along with several pairs of pillows.

They even bought a few folding beds and mattresses, anticipating that they might need to change houses several times in the future. Even if they could take the old ones, over time it would still be necessary to get new ones to ensure sleeping quality.

After purchasing these items and loading them up, Gu Pan thought the blankets took up a lot of space. She pretended to rearrange things in the truck while discreetly placing some items into the Space, quickly freeing up more room.

Afterward, they bought a lot of fabric because it could be used for making clothes or curtains. It was always good to have extra, and they planned to buy a sewing machine in the next few days so they could make anything they needed.

Once they were done, they headed directly to the nearby wholesale market.

For toiletries, they bought everything they saw in bulk. In addition to toilet paper and sanitary pads, Gu Pan also purchased some household items such as a thermos, an electric kettle, lighters, and hot water bottles.

Handwarmers supposedly didn't work in very low temperatures, so they didn't buy any. Rubber hot water bottles were the most reliable.

They bought a hundred emergency wind-resistant lamps since they would be heavily used in the future. Since they would consume a lot of these, it made sense to buy extra.

The candles were mainly the red ones used for weddings; they bought two boxes, knowing that candles would be indispensable in the future.

They also stocked up on alcohol stoves and lamps which would be needed for cooking when outdoors or in the presence of outsiders, as they couldn't just take items directly out of the Space.

Additionally, they bought various types of rat, cockroach, and ant poison since there would be a lot of pests after the natural disasters, making these potentially lifesaving.

Of course, along with these items, they planned to buy disinfectant from a pharmacy for better assurance.

Then they made their way out of the market, buying items like barbecue grills, hot pots, fish roasters, pots, pans, and even carpets as they went along—anything they saw and needed.

They even found sewing machines and bought five, anticipating that these might become a good pastime in the future with high wear and tear, so more were better.

After each purchase, Gu Pan would get into the truck and pretend to tidy up, then put some items into the Space. Others wouldn't know how much they actually bought, so they wouldn't notice the fluctuating quantity of stuff, especially since the truck was covered with a tarp.

By the time they left the wholesale market, it was the afternoon. They had bought a lot, each in large quantities, requiring visits to the storeroom for retrieval and counting, which was time-consuming.

They decided to buy just these items today since in the afternoon they needed to pick up shelf units from a warehouse, retrieve appliances purchased the previous day from an old house, and collect the meal they had ordered yesterday. Issues regarding food and the truck would be dealt with tomorrow.

They casually found a restaurant roadside, had a quick meal, and then went to the warehouse, strategically located in the suburbs. After picking up the shelf units, they went to a bungalow to pick up their pre-ordered items without wasting time.

Upon reaching the warehouse, which was unstaffed and mainly used for storage,

Ruisheng said, "Let's disassemble these shelf units and get them inside. You can put them in the Space now, and we'll stop at the hardware store nearby to buy some screws, wires, and tools. I'll set them up when there's downtime during the apocalypse."

Gu Pan thought that was a good plan, "Right, let's also stop by the building materials store nearby later to get some cement and sand, just in case we need to build something ourselves one day."

Ruisheng agreed, "Exactly, we should also buy extra from the hardware store since we'll likely have to do a lot of building and fixing ourselves."

As they spoke, the two had already placed everything that needed to go into the Space, including some decent-looking iron shelves and steel plates, which they also put in. There were also a few iron doors, which Lu Ruisheng said could be installed in the stairwell to add an extra layer of protection, it was better to keep them since there was room, they could always throw them away later if there wasn't enough space, better than not having them when needed.

Leaving the warehouse, they went directly to a nearby hardware store and bought a bunch of tools, screws, iron wires, and such.

Then, they went to a building material store and bought some cement, sand, and putty powder, but there Gu Pan also discovered new wonders. Linoleum was really a great thing, in the previous life after they had gone to the base, the house was surrounded by concrete, having linoleum would have made it feel much warmer. The foam baseboards, which were cool and heat insulating, were also excellent. These items, previously deemed unfashionable, suddenly became very useful.

After shopping, they received a call about the delivery of home appliances, so they went to the bungalow. Upon arriving and opening the door, the workers brought everything inside. The weather was bad that day, so Gu Pan gave the workers some tips and warned them about the recent unusual weather, advising them to stock up on supplies. That was all he could say.

The appliances worked fine, so they said their goodbyes.

After everyone had left, Gu Pan put all the things they bought today into the Space.

As it was getting dark, they returned to the mall from the day before, picked up the meals ordered from each restaurant, and transferred them all into the Space in the car.

Then, they went to the food street and placed orders at the shops there again, paying a deposit to pick them up the next day.

By the time they got home, it was after nine o'clock.

Today, it was either that Zhuang Jie hadn't come, or he came when no one was home and left; either way, they didn't see him, which made it a quiet evening.

After entering the house, the two stepped into the Space together, sorted and categorized the items roughly, and then came out to take showers.

After the showers, both felt that they should buy water tanks for storing water. There were only a few days left, and even if they collected water daily, it wasn't certain how much they could actually get.

So, the first thing the next day would be to buy water tanks and also stockpile bottled water, which was the most crucial.

The two planned their activities for the next day while writing, staying up until midnight before they went to sleep.

The next morning, they went straight to the place selling water tanks and bought ten large water tanks measuring two by two meters, which were scheduled to be delivered to the bungalow that evening.

Next, they went to a wholesale water dealer, ordered a thousand large barrels of mineral water, and a thousand boxes of bottled mineral water, all scheduled for evening delivery to the bungalow.

After solving the water issue, they went to the agricultural market, found a grain and oil store, and bought a hundred bags each of rice and various coarse grains, as well as a hundred bags of different types of flour, and thirty barrels of different oils.

They bought ten boxes of noodle because it was a good commodity for bartering in the future.

These might not be enough to last a lifetime, but they weren't just relying on these supplies—they had the meals they had ordered and planned to do some planting at the base in the future, so this was sufficient.

Then, they went to a nearby condiment wholesaler, buying ten boxes each of items like cooking oil, salt, soy sauce, and vinegar.

They also bought several dozen kilograms of each type of dry ingredient.

White sugar and salt were bought the most, directly purchasing five tons each, equating to ten thousand kilograms, because iodized salt and sugar would become hard currency later, able to be bartered for many other supplies.

They also purchased five hundred kilograms each of brown sugar and rock sugar, as these too were valuable goods.

Their car couldn't carry all these items, so they arranged for delivery to an old house in the suburbs that afternoon. Luckily, no one knew about that house as it was a place full of memories for Gu Pan, not meant to be shared with outsiders. Only they as a couple knew about it and they regularly maintained it.
