Sketching her Shadows

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Searching for the Missing Pieces

Satya couldn't shake the feeling that everything was so close, yet still so far. He had followed every lead, traveled across cities, and even spoken to the professors who had known her. But still, Saanvi remained elusive.

He paced in his small room, the college brochures scattered in front of him, each one offering a new potential clue. Saanvi's name kept appearing, but it was always a dead end—nothing more than casual mentions in old yearbooks or fleeting references in student chat groups.

"I need to get closer to her. Maybe her friends will know something more," he muttered, frustration gnawing at his insides.

A Glimmer of Hope

He returned to the college, this time to focus on finding people who might have known her more personally. Her friends. Her peers. They might hold the answers that were slipping through his grasp.

As he wandered around the student common areas, his eyes scanned the crowd. He wasn't sure what he was looking for, but he hoped someone would recognize him as the person who had once drawn the face of the girl they all remembered.

It wasn't long before he overheard a conversation. A group of students sat under a tree, chatting casually. Among them, he spotted two girls who seemed to be talking about Saanvi.

Satya approached them cautiously, his heart racing as he asked, "Excuse me, but do you know Saanvi Rathore? I'm… I'm trying to find some information about her."

One of the girls, a tall student with dark hair, looked up, clearly surprised.

"Saanvi?" she asked, a curious frown forming. "Oh yeah, we knew her. But, honestly, she wasn't very social. She kept to herself a lot. Seemed like she was always thinking about something, or maybe just lost in her own world. But she was brilliant. Everyone admired her for her art."

Satya leaned forward, desperate for more.

"Do you know where she went after graduation? I really need to find her."

The other girl, who hadn't spoken before, finally chimed in.

"I don't think anyone really knew where she went. She just kind of disappeared after her last exhibition. She was always talking about traveling to some place she thought was important, but… honestly, we didn't talk much. She was very quiet."

Satya's heart sank. They barely knew anything about her. But still, there was something unsettling in their words. She was quiet, always thinking about something. Could that something be the past?

Fragments of a Life

Satya thanked the girls and walked away, his thoughts spinning. The small pieces of the puzzle were starting to fall into place. Saanvi—Meera—was more than just an art student. She was someone who had been searching for something, just as he had been, though neither of them could fully understand what.

As he sat under a nearby tree, trying to make sense of everything, he realized one thing. He hadn't found her yet. But he wasn't giving up.

The connection was too strong, the pull of destiny too undeniable.
