Chapter 528 527: Contaminated?
The events that ensued after Corey exposed the fact that he had an Ascension stone with him were just as Corey expected.
Ryan asked him how he got an Ascension stone, an object he had been trying to get from the very moment he appeared in the Shattered Dimension.
Obviously, Corey did not answer. Instead, he got right down to business and told him what he wanted.
In exchange for the Ascendant stone, he wanted Ryan to help him reach the top of the waterfall.
Ryan was to assist him in battling the abominations of the Water of Calamity as he tried to reach the top of the waterfall. If there was an abomination or a danger that was beyond Ryan's capabilities, Ryan could escape, but in no way should Ryan betray him or willingly cause him harm.
When Corey proposed this to Ryan, Ryan had a strange look because if he agreed, there was nothing that stopped him from turning back on the agreement.
Also, if he wanted, he could decide to attack and kill Corey right there and then, however, there was something unnerving about Corey's nonchalant, calm, and confident attitude that made Ryan hesitate on this thought.

It was extremely strange, so strange to the point that Ryan was beginning to get suspicious of Corey, but before he could delve into his thoughts regarding Corey, Corey brought up a system contract.
Ryan was slightly surprised by the fact that Corey knew of the system contract. However, another emotion he had because of the system contract was annoyance.
A part of him believed he could outsmart Corey into giving him the Ascension stone without having to fulfil their agreement, but with the presence of the system contract, Ryan had no choice but to fulfil their agreement or he'd be punished by the system.
-----
(1) Ryan Hortz is to assist I, Smile Reaper, in battling the abominations of the Water of Calamity and any other danger that arises in their approach to the peak of the Eternal Waterfall.
(2) If there's any abomination or danger that is beyond Ryan Hortz's capabilities, Ryan Hortz can choose to escape without deliberately putting I, Smile Reaper, in danger.
(3) In no way should Ryan Hortz betray or deliberately cause I, Smile Reaper, harm
(4) In no way should Ryan Hortz attempt to steal the Ascension stone from me, Smile Reaper, without fulfilling the agreement.
(5) Neither Ryan Hortz nor I, Smile Reaper, is allowed to steal any treasure that rightfully belongs to either one of us during the duration of the contract.

When Ryan Hortz saw the terms and conditions Corey placed in the system contract, he could not help but curse out loud.
Although it had just been thought, the system contract Corey conjured nullified most of the plans and thoughts he had towards Corey's Ascension stone. After much deliberation, Ryan finally decided to agree to the contract after changing just two things.
The first change he made was to add a condition that stated that if Corey was to die, the Ascension Stone would be transferred to his storage space by the system no matter how far apart they were from each other.
The second change he made was to add a similar condition to number three (3). He also added that in no way should Corey betray or deliberately cause him harm.
When Corey heard Ryan's second addition, he was genuinely surprised because he expected Ryan to be nonchalant towards him and to also underestimate him.
He was a Tier 2, and Ryan was a Tier 5 genius from a top-tier force who also possessed an Intent.
Corey's surprise could not be put into words.
What Corey did not know was that the reason why Ryan made such a change was not because he was wary of Corey.
What he was worried about was that there was probably a group of tier 4s and tier 5s or another tier 5 behind Corey, and it was this individual or group of individuals that was actually making Corey go to the top of the Eternal Waterfall.
Even with the presence of the Ascension stone, Ryan did not believe that Corey was capable of accomplishing anything at the Eternal Waterfall.
After coming to an agreement and signing the system contract, both Corey and Ryan decided to go to the Eternal Waterfall after coming up with a brief plan.
(Back to the present)
Traversing the Shattered Sea was usually done by Tier 4s or Harbingers because of the sea's peculiarity.
Unless one was an immortal or a very powerful Mystical Being or Tainted, one could not walk or swim in the Shattered Sea.
There were only two ways one could travel across the Shattered Sea, and that was to either fly or move from one Goliathspawn to another.
Flying for too long was a big no for both Corey and Ryan because they were not existences and could ignore the Goliathspawns that would attack them if they stayed in the air for more than thirty seconds.
Because of this, both Corey and Ryan decided to move from one Goliathspawn to the other.
Ryan's way of moving from one Goliathspawn to another was by flight. Meanwhile, Corey ran on his platform of hexagon barriers.
Despite the vast distance between each Goliathspawn and the tremendous size of each Goliathspawn, they were able to avoid the emergence of the Goliathspawns in the depth of the Water of Purity.
After moving for approximately four hours, Corey and Ryan stood on the back of a titanic whale-like Goliathspawn.
Approximately a kilometre away from them was the Eternal Waterfall. As Corey gazed at the Eternal Waterfall up close, he was instantly awed by the sight of it.
It was the biggest and largest thing he had ever seen. Even the draconic abomination, Zal'Zerael was smaller than the waterfall, and the beauty and aura of the waterfall were both heavy and unfathomable.
Standing so close to the waterfall allowed Corey to sense the extremely familiar aura and energy of Infinity Crystals. However, there was a huge difference between this aura and energy.
Corey shifted his gaze to the lower parts of the waterfall, and there he saw half of the pristine and pure water turn muddy and black, almost like it was contaminated.
'This… It's similar to the energy that Tainteds use, but it also feels different.'
Corey frowned deeply, and then he shifted his gaze to the top of the waterfall.
'Don't tell me that the Water Infinity Crystal above is contaminated… Can an Infinity Crystal be contaminated?'
Just as Corey had this thought, he felt a surge of energy to his right. He turned, and then his pure white eyes gazed at the Goliathspawn that was the closest to the Eternal Waterfall.
A crab-like Goliathspawn.
On this crab-like, Goliathspawn were six individuals, and as Corey gazed at these six individuals, his eyes could not help but widen.
'Melissa? Master?'
