Chapter 90: Chapter 77.3: The Ordinary High School Student

Unable to see spirits, Higashizawa attributed everything that had happened to Chu Yang. It was the only explanation he could come up with.

After all, how could a normal person believe in ghosts and spirits so easily?

Higashizawa crawled forward with all his might, completely ignoring Kurosaki Ichigo's warnings. In his desperation, he didn't notice the distant flash of headlights.

By the time the car engine roared closer, it was already too late.

The sky was dark, and the streetlights were all destroyed.

The surroundings were pitch-black, and the driver couldn't see what was on the road.

Thud, thud.

The car shook violently before driving a short distance further and stopping.

The driver stepped out, glancing around nervously, but the darkness only revealed rubble scattered along the road in the faint moonlight. He couldn't see anything else.

Scratching his head, he returned to the car, restarted the engine, and tried to calm his family.

"What was that?"

"Seems like rubble. The road's covered in debris. It's too dark to see…"

"Why hasn't anyone cleared it? It's dangerous at night!"

"I'll call the city council in a bit."

As the engine revved back up, the car drove further away. No one noticed Higashizawa, barely alive and lying in a pool of blood.

His hand weakly reached out in vain.

Slowly, despair crept over him.

He suddenly thought.

At the moment when Honkawa Yosuke was hit by a car during late-night construction and killed, was he as hopeless as I am now?

Higashizawa's thoughts froze at that moment, then faded into permanent silence.

...

Kurosaki Ichigo's throat felt like it was on fire.

He had run a distance equivalent to a marathon, maintaining a sprinting pace the entire time.

Just as he was about to give up, Chu Yang finally appeared in front of him.

But besides Chu Yang...

There was also a massive creature, as tall as a three or four-story building, radiating a terrifying aura.

Kurosaki Ichigo licked his dry lips, not because of thirst, but from seeing Chu Yang fighting the giant monster with his bare hands.

When he saw Chu Yang punch the creature, sending it flying several meters away, he got goosebumps all over.

"And I was worried about him…" Kurosaki Ichigo took a few steps back. "I should be worried about myself, right?"

Just as he finished speaking, a car flipped by Honkawa Yosuke flew past him, crashing into a streetlamp and bursting into dazzling flames.

Kurosaki Ichigo was thrown into the air by the shockwave, spinning several times before landing with a thud.

Groaning in pain, he tried to cry out but noticed a huge shadow looming over him.

Shivering, he looked up.

The massive creature was staring down at him with a seemingly friendly smile.

It raised its foot...

And stomped down!

Kurosaki Ichigo instinctively closed his eyes, raising his arms in defense.

The next moment.

The pain he expected didn't come. Instead, he felt like he was floating, weightless.

Opening his eyes, he saw Chu Yang carrying him, leaping onto a nearby rooftop.

Though filled with questions, Ichigo asked the most important one, "Where's Uncle Yosuke?"

Chu Yang gestured toward the Hollowed Honkawa Yosuke below.

"Uncle Yosuke?" Ichigo murmured, dazed. "Why did he turn into that?"

"You're asking me? Who am I supposed to ask?" Chu Yang replied helplessly. "The real issue is how to deal with him."

"Deal with him?" Ichigo stared. "You're planning to kill Uncle Yosuke?"

Chu Yang rolled his eyes, exasperated. "Are you nuts? Killing is illegal!"

Ichigo paused for a moment, then said slowly, "In his current state, the law can't protect him…"

Roar!!!

Honkawa Yosuke let out an enraged roar, charging toward them.

"Enough talking. Help if you can. If not, then get out of the way!" Chu Yang shouted, leaping down.

He landed a crushing blow on Honkawa Yosuke, slamming him into the ground.

What can I even do to help?

Kurosaki Ichigo, always confident in his athletic abilities, hesitated. The battle between Chu Yang and Honkawa Yosuke was clearly beyond his capabilities.

Confidence was one thing, but seeking death was another.

Just then, from his rooftop vantage point, Ichigo noticed an elderly couple walking toward the chaos.

"They're out for a stroll at this hour?"

Climbing down the roof, Ichigo hurried over to the couple, making up a clumsy lie to get them to leave.

"There's construction ahead, the road is closed. Please take another route!"

Hearing the occasional booming noises from ahead, the elderly couple didn't question him and turned back. The old man grumbled, "Young folks these days have no manners, no signs or warnings for construction, making us walk so far."

Ichigo could only bow repeatedly in apology, finally seeing them off.

"I have to stop any more pedestrians from coming here, or someone will get hurt."

Ichigo felt this was the only way he could help Chu Yang, so he started wandering nearby, diverting anyone he encountered.

As the night wore on, fewer and fewer people appeared. Once the streets were empty, Ichigo breathed a sigh of relief and turned back to check on the fight.

"How is he going to deal with Yosuke-san? If this drags on, he'll be putting himself in danger too."

Amid his concern, Ichigo suddenly felt a sharp sense of unease. He sensed that something was approaching.

This feeling of dread was even stronger than the one caused by Honkawa Yosuke.

At the same time, Chu Yang also sensed something…

"No wonder the Shinigami haven't come yet. They're probably held up by something else."

Chu Yang stood with one foot pressing down on Honkawa Yosuke, his gaze fixed ahead.

"Three, two, one."

A building directly in front exploded with a loud crash!

It was as if it had been hit by a speeding train, yet the opening remained empty.

In Chu Yang's eyes, a larger Hollow stood before him, its massive jaws wide open. It had been attracted by Honkawa Yosuke's spiritual pressure, ready to devour.

Some Hollows liked to devour human souls, while others preferred to devour their own kind.

This new Hollow seemed to belong to the latter category.

It gazed at Honkawa Yosuke with ravenous hunger.

But soon, it shifted its gaze to Chu Yang, who stood with Yosuke pinned underfoot.

Instinctively, the Hollow sensed danger from Chu Yang. Fear flickered in its eyes.

However, this flicker of fear was soon overwhelmed by greed, as it decided Chu Yang seemed even more appetizing than Honkawa Yosuke.

"Finally, someone I can let loose against. I've been holding back for too long."

After a drawn-out "struggle" with Honkawa Yosuke, Chu Yang had built up a lot of frustration with nowhere to release it. But now, fate had delivered a perfect target right into his path.

The massive Hollow charged at Chu Yang, crashing through buildings as it barreled forward.

Chu Yang clenched his fist, and Armament Haki enveloped him, forming a thick armor.

The Hollow quickly closed the distance, advancing on Chu Yang in the blink of an eye.

Chu Yang raised his hand, ready to strike.

But before he could throw his punch, a figure appeared between them with a loud explosion.

Chu Yang's movement paused.

The newcomer, dressed in a black "dojo uniform," stood with their back to Chu Yang, blocking the Hollow's attack with a blade.

The person was sent flying from the impact.

Chu Yang caught a glimpse of the person's face—it was a short-haired girl, shoulder-length. It must be Rukia Kuchiki.

After landing, Rukia bounced back up like a spring.

She charged at the Hollow again, chanting as she moved.

She was casting Kidō.

The spell formed invisible bindings, trapping the Hollow and preventing it from harming Chu Yang.

"There's a human here? This was already troublesome, and now it's even worse."

It seemed Rukia hadn't noticed Honkawa Yosuke, who was pressed into the ground beneath Chu Yang's foot. She glanced briefly at Chu Yang before focusing on the Hollow in front of her.

Chu Yang stared at her, but she paid him no mind.

How could a human possibly see her?

He must've just been shocked by the sudden destruction of the buildings around him!

That's what Rukia thought.

Suddenly, another human came running towards them from the end of the street.

"Another one?"

"What are these people doing out so late at night?"

Rukia sighed in frustration, mentally preparing herself to protect both of them.

The Kidō binding would only hold the evolving Hollow for a brief moment, and there was no way to drive these two humans away right now.

All she could do was focus on protecting them.

Meanwhile, Kurosaki Ichigo ran up to them and noticed…

There was a larger Hollow here, not Honkawa Yosuke.

He stared in confusion at Rukia and asked, "Who are you?"

Rukia froze.

Then she turned to glance at Chu Yang, thinking to herself that Ichigo was probably talking to him.

Rukia stepped aside, only to realize that the orange-haired boy was staring directly at her, as if waiting for an answer.

Rukia began to panic.

Ichigo tilted his head, looking past her to Chu Yang, and asked, "Do you know her? She seems a little… off."

Rukia: "…"

Chu Yang responded, "No, I don't know her. But she did help block that attack for me."

Rukia spun around, her eyes widening in shock.

At this moment, she finally confirmed it—both of these humans could see her!

Just as Rukia was about to speak, the Hollow broke free from the Kidō binding and lunged at her exposed back.

Damn!

Hearing the commotion behind her, Rukia knew something was wrong. But it was already too late to turn and face the attack.

Damn it. I shouldn't have let my guard down, listening to those two humans talk.

She braced herself for the incoming blow, prepared to take the hit and deal a counterattack to severely injure the Hollow.

But what Rukia didn't expect at all…

The human beside her rushed towards the Hollow without hesitation.

"Wait! Don't…"

Before she could finish her sentence, Rukia watched in disbelief as that man raised his fist and shattered the Hollow's mask with a single punch!

The massive Hollow flew through the air, crashing into the distance!

With that punch, Chu Yang let out an excited shout, finally venting all the frustration that had built up inside him!

What kind of strength is this?!!!

Seeing this, Rukia's pupils contracted sharply, and her Zanpakutō slipped from her hand in shock. As she bent down to pick it up, she realized there was another Hollow at her feet!

Honkawa Yosuke's eyes darted around, just in time to lock gazes with Rukia.
