Shut Up Dragon! I Don't Want To Have Children With You Anymore

Chapter 70: Chapter 70: You Were Really Cool Just Now!

Noah recalled the time a few days ago when Leon and Mom had a one-on-one sparring session at the practice field. Leon hadn't dared to relax in the slightest and had given his all to face Mom.

But at the critical moments, it was clear that both Dad and Mom were holding back. After all, sparring between spouses couldn't possibly resemble a life-and-death struggle between enemies.

Even though Leon ultimately lost, Mom obviously hadn't won easily either.

However, when facing Lar's father, Leon acted like he was playing with a child, not taking it seriously at all.

'This man... how much strength is he still hiding?',Noah couldn't help but wonder.

Lar's father, after swinging several punches in vain, became increasingly frustrated. His attacks grew more frantic and disorderly.

Leon, with just a few moves, had already gauged the opponent's general skill level.

The Red Flame Dragon clan undoubtedly had strong members, but this mad dog before him was slightly stronger than the Toad Dragons—but not by much.

Back in his battlefield days, when encountering dragons of this level, Leon couldn't even be bothered to spare them a glance.

"So boring, idiot," Leon mocked, effortlessly dodging as he went. "I don't even need to use magic to deal with you."

"W-what—"

Before Lar's father could finish his sentence, Leon delivered a sharp roundhouse kick to his knee.

The knees were the weak points of the Red Flame Dragon clan. This was knowledge Leon had accumulated over years of dragon-slaying experience—a secret he rarely shared.

Lar's father immediately dropped to one knee in pain, the sensation in his joint akin to it being shattered.

Leon took two steps forward, leaped off a nearby stone step to gain momentum, and executed a clean, decisive spinning kick, sending Lar's father crashing heavily to the ground.

But that wasn't the end.

With his hands tucked casually into his pockets, Leon strolled forward, whistling a carefree tune. He then stepped on Lar's father's tail with an impassive expression, causing the man to cry out in a heart-wrenching scream.

Leon removed his hand from his pocket, clenched his right fist, and with a unified motion of his waist and arm, channeled all his strength into his punch, aiming for Lar's father's face.

"N-no, don't—"

BOOM!

Terrified, Lar's father trembled all over, instinctively shielding his head with his arms and curling up in a pathetic heap at the last second.

He realized he might have made a grave mistake.

This guy looked unremarkable on the surface, but when he moved, the killing intent emanating from him was all too real.

It was a presence one could only acquire by crawling out of a pile of dragon corpses...

'Who the hell is this bastard...?'

However, Leon's punch didn't land on his face.

Lar's father cautiously lowered his arms and saw that Leon's fist had struck the cement ground in front of him instead.

The hard ground now bore a small crater from the force of the blow.

Even dragon bones wouldn't have been able to withstand such a punch.

To put it bluntly, if Leon hadn't held back, Lar might already be an orphan.

"See? My fists are just as tough as my words."

Leon withdrew his fist, stood up, and kicked Lar's father's leg. "Get lost, and tell your son to stop messing with my daughter."

With that, he looked over at the two Toad Dragons nearby.

In the past, Leon wouldn't have even spared small fry like them a glance. "You two—want to try your luck as well?"

The two Toad Dragons shook their heads vigorously, like rattling drums.

"Then take him and scram."

Lar's father shakily stood up, clutching his aching knee. With the support of the two Toad Dragons, he limped away dejectedly. Yet, in his gaze directed at Leon, there was no hiding the malice and resentment.

Leon exhaled, turning around. "Alright, let's go ho—Noah? When did you get here?"

As he turned, he spotted Noah peeking out from behind the school gate.

Judging by her expression and the wagging of her tail, she must have witnessed the entire confrontation. She seemed... excited?

Rossweise, too, hadn't noticed their daughter standing nearby. Hearing Leon's remark, she turned to look.

"Noah? Why aren't you in class?"

Noah walked over, holding a box of cookies. "I wanted to give this to you."

She handed the cookie box to them.

Rossweise accepted it with both hands and asked with delight,"Did you make this?"

"Mm-hmm, we made them in cooking class."

After a brief pause, Noah added, "They might not taste very good, so don't mind that."

Rossweise didn't respond with the usual "Of course not, everything you make is delicious." Instead, she directly took a cookie from the box, broke it in half, handed a piece to Leon, and tasted the other half herself.

"This is actually quite good," Rossweise said.

Leon ate his piece in two bites and sincerely praised it. "Yeah, it's really tasty."

Only then did the nervous expression on Noah's face relax. "I got second place in cooking class."

Rossweise ruffled Noah's hair. "Cooking is a piece of cake for you. Next time, we'll get first place."

"Mm-hmm."

Noah nodded, then turned her gaze to Leon. She bit her lip, hesitating to speak.

After a moment, she finally mustered the courage to say, "You were... really cool just now."

In that instant, Leon seemed to understand the meaning of being a father.

When you care for your daughter without expecting anything in return, a simple compliment from her is worth more than a thousand words.

For someone like Noah, who wasn't accustomed to expressing her feelings so openly, such a direct compliment meant the world to Leon.

It was better than receiving any gift.

Especially for someone like Noah, who usually doesn't like to express her preferences so directly, being able to praise Leon so straightforwardly was astonishing.

To Leon, this simple compliment was far more delightful than receiving any gift.

He didn't think this had anything to do with personality manipulation, or other nonsensical ideas.

It was just a normal psychological reaction for a father receiving praise from his daughter.

If Leon had a tail, he would probably be wagging it enthusiastically right now.

Compared to "My daughter has finally grown up and knows how to compliment others," Leon was more focused on the thought, "The relationship between my daughter and me has finally shown clear signs of breaking the ice."

He didn't care whether Noah had become more mature; he had never been so demanding of her.

He simply wanted to connect with Noah's heart, to make their relationship truly worthy of the term "father and daughter."

Seeing Leon stunned by the simple "so cool" compliment, Rossweise nudged his arm.

Only then did Leon come back to his senses. He scratched his head and smiled, "Ahaha, well, of course, your dad is amazing. And I wasn't lying to you, was I? Knees really are the weakness of the Flame Dragon clan. Next time that Lar bullies you again, just kick his knee hard."

Noah burst into laughter but quickly restrained her smile like her mother, as if showing their smiles came at an extra cost.

"Alright, I get it. But—wait, your hand… is it injured?"

When Leon raised his hand to scratch his head, the joints on the back of his hand were inadvertently exposed.

It was the wound left when he punched the ground earlier.

Hearing this, Leon quickly put his hand down, hiding it behind him. "It's nothing, really. Fights always come with a few scrapes."

"But it's—"

"Isn't your next class starting soon? Go back to class. We'll cook something delicious for you when you come home the day after tomorrow," Leon said.

Noah's pupils trembled slightly, and she bit her lip. "Alright… bye."

"See you the day after tomorrow."

Noah waved and jogged back to the academy.

Rossweise handed the cookie box to Leon and transformed into her dragon form. "Let's go back too."

"Yeah."

———

That evening, Leon sat in the nursery, reading a science book about baby dragons, preparing to teach Luna tomorrow.

A moment later, the door lock clicked.

He put down the book and looked toward the door.

Before he could see who it was, the familiar sound of high heels reached his ears.

Leon didn't greet her but silently picked up the book again and continued reading.

Rossweise sat beside him, waiting quietly without saying a word.

After a few minutes, Leon put down the book. "What's up?"

"Your hand."

"Huh?"

Without further explanation, Rossweise picked up Leon's right hand and placed it on her knee.

She then took out the wound ointment she had brought, dipped a cotton swab, and began applying it to Leon's wound bit by bit.

The medicine stung a little as it entered the wound, and Leon instinctively flinched.

"Does it hurt?" Rossweise asked.

Leon, trying to appear tough, replied, "No, not at all."

Rossweise chuckled softly and continued applying the ointment, her movements much gentler now. "Hmm, well, it doesn't hurt me, either."

The evening breeze flowed through the window, cool and pleasant.

Rossweise applied the medicine meticulously and slowly.

The ointment was cool, but her hands were warm and soft.

As a seasoned dragon slayer, Leon's hands bore countless scars.

In the past, he would simply deal with injuries haphazardly.

But no one had ever tended to his wounds as carefully as Rossweise did.

People always remember their first experiences vividly.

And during the process, every little detail becomes particularly noticeable.

Rossweise's palms were warm and soft, but her fingertips were slightly cold. When they brushed over Leon's hand, the sensation was delicate and ticklish.

Feeling awkward, Leon coughed lightly and turned his head, trying to shift his focus away from the physical contact.

Although it hurt a bit, Leon didn't dare move, as his hand was on her lap, and any movement could easily be misunderstood as inappropriate.

"Honestly… there's no need to apply ointment. It'll heal in a couple of days," Leon said.

"Luna wanted to apply it for you," Rossweise said softly, lowering her head.

"Oh."

"But I was afraid she wouldn't do it properly, so I came instead."

"Oh."

"What's with the 'oh'? I'm serious."

Leon shrugged. "Yeah, I believe you. Why are you getting so nervous?"

"I'm not nervous."

"Alright, you're not nervous. I'm the one who's nervous. Happy now? Ow—ouch, ouch, ouch!"

Rossweise glared at him. "Behave yourself."

"Alright, fine."

She continued applying the ointment.

After a while, she spoke again. "Thank you for today."

"Thank me for what?"
