After Mira had shown the most important items she had brought back, and left all the materials from Machina Guardian in a pile, Solomon told her that he would make sure they were available for the Rising Sun Committee to take whenever they wanted.
Then the two returned to Solomon’s office.
「By the way, yesterday you said there was something you wanted to give me. What is it?」 There were always an assortment of luxurious desserts and tea in the office, and Mira made a beeline to a cake before asking that.
「It’s something that I’m sure will be of great help to you.」 Saying that with a lightly smug tone, Solomon placed a box around the size of his palm on the table.
「What’s this?」
It just looked like a regular box to Mira, leaving her a bit confused, but Solomon explained that it was a truly marvelous invention.
「It’s a very recent invention from the Rising Sun Committee. It manipulates storable items.」
As he explained, it was a truly groundbreaking invention, and one that would greatly aid Mira in her travels. That box was essentially a special type of Item Box.
Currently, Mira’s Item Box would only accept objects marked as Items, though that was easily bypassed with the Concept Art Itemization. Overall, most items could be stored. The reason why this new box was so innovative was because it made a specific type of object able to be stored. To be specific, it could store vehicles.
「It’s still limited to vehicles that weigh less than half a ton, and aren’t longer than five meters, but you should still be able to walk around with your wagon in your Item Box with this.」
The important part was that the box itself counted as a storable item, which meant that once the wagon was inside, the whole thing could be put into her Item Box, as a sort of portable parking lot.
There were other similar containers in the works, according to Solomon. So eventually, even more things would become easier to store and move around.
「That does sound useful!」
Mira had spent a considerable amount of time searching for places where she could leave her wagon in the past, so she instantly saw how it would help her.
「Try to use it as much as you can. Then you can tell me how it worked for you, and I’ll relay that info to them.」
That was not just a mere present, but also a field test for the prototype. But that did not detract from its usefulness, so Mira was all completely on board. After that, the two sat down to eat more sweets while talking about random things for a while longer.
「Anyway, try to rest for a while now.」
「Yes, that’s exactly what I was planning on doing!」
Mira’s mission to find the Nine Wisemen had advanced to a significant degree, as once Kagura and Soul Howl returned, there would be officially five Wisemen in Arkite, without counting Mira.
That was essentially a five times increase in battle power compared to before when Luminaria was the only one. That was more than enough to fend off a war in the case one broke out. Though it was also hard to imagine it would happen as soon as the Limited Armistice Treaty ended.
On top of that, there were no more clues about the remaining wisemen. So the lessened urgency and lack of leads meant that Mira had plenty of free time. So Mira felt free to leisurely enjoy the sweets on the table.
「Well, what are you planning on doing then?」 Solomon asked that out of simple curiosity, and Mira thought about it a bit before giving a cheerful reply.
「I’ll go back to the Tower and think about it there.」
「I see, I see, so you’ll stay at the Tower for a bit. Yes, that sounds nice, spending some quality family time.」
Solomon chuckled teasingly, basically insinuating that Mira’s wife was waiting at the Tower.
「Don’t be ridiculous.」
While that was her initial response, she was hardly convincing. Their conversation after that led into her moment with Mariana before, which led to talking about Creos, and that into the Academy.
Then Solomon commented that he had visited the Academy with Luminaria recently, and saw that after the incident with Kairos attacking Mira, and Luminaria standing as a beacon, those studying Magic had become more motivated and determined to improve.
And Creos had also told him that a certain antagonistic faction of summoners had risen for a while, but that too had died down and they no longer attacked students of other branches.
「…I wanted to know what that sound was, so I opened the door and-」
One thing led to another, and somehow Solomon ended up talking about the research area below the castle. He had heard a strange noise coming from there one night, so he went to check what it was together with Luminaria. But just when he was about to reveal what he had found, someone knocked on the door, interrupting him.
It turned out to be Suleyman, who informed Solomon that some important guest he was scheduled to meet had arrived.
「It’s that late already? Well, I guess we’ll have to continue this conversation another time.」
The conversation ended with a cliffhanger, but Solomon seemed to think that was for the best as he stood up with a grin. But Mira protested against it.
「What? Are you really going to leave me hanging like this?」
「I mean…if you really want to know, you can ask Lily instead.」
Solomon continued to grin as he opened the door, revealing that Lily also came together with Suleyman.
「I’m looking forward to our next conversation.」
Saying that, he left with Suleyman to meet his guest, leaving Mira and Lily behind.
Afraid of the response, Mira timidly asked if Lily did not have to go with them, and she instantly said, 「No, I’m here for you, Lady Mira.」
Mira was hoping that receiving an important guest meant the head of the maids also had to be present, but instead Mira was dragged deep into the maids’ chambers, and she already knew there was no point in trying to resist.
「How did it come to this…」
After being dragged into a room in the maids’ chambers, Mira found herself surrounded by numerous maids, and in a swimsuit.
Her past experience told her she was going to receive a new attire, so she tried to steel her nerves in advance, only to end up in a different type of revealing situation. Instead of a Magical Girl dress, she was given a swimsuit, which also happened to be styled like a bikini.
「Ahh, it’s like a goddess of the sea arrived at the beach!」
Lily let out a shout filled with emotion while another maid skillfully used a camera to take pictures. The blue and white swimsuit certainly highlighted Mira’s charms, making her presence rival that of the sky and sea.1Silva: Hmmm a swimsuit huh… I guess the next adventure will take place near the sea, or IN the sea2
The main reason behind all of that was the fact that they were in the midst of summer.
There was an indoor pool within the castle as well, which was mainly used for training, but during summer, it turned into more of a resort, with many going there to cool off. The maids were no exception, with some going as far as to always be wearing a swimsuit under their clothes to enter more easily.
But there was another reason as well.
During one of the maids’ regular meetings to discuss their new creations for Mira to wear, they began discussing what inner pants she could wear, some suggesting spats, leggings, shorts, stockings, and so on, but they remained in a stalemate.
Then, together with the current season, the idea of swimsuits began floating around. One of the maids who was wearing a swimsuit beneath her clothes and visited the pool constantly then suggested the idea of simply having Mira wear a swimsuit instead of underwear.
