Chapter 14: Experiment 11 - Heaven's fall
After SCP-9743's interaction with SCP-239. Dr. Alexander decided to give some time to SCP-9743, while the Research Team remained observing him carefully, as SCP-9743 was once again, sitting down, with his right leg in V pose, and him slightly looking at his left, as if something or someone was back again behind his left shoulder.
SCP-9743: "How many kids with world control I have to face?... Kiddo, this isn't paid enough..."
SCP-9743 then raised slightly his head to look more at something, while remained in silence.
SCP-9743: "But... Yeah... She was not like... Her or them... But was the same after all... They started the same way though..."
After a moment, Dr. Alexander Grimm communicated SCP-9743 about his next interaction, using the audio. And soon enough, as he got up and waited with his arms crossed, the door of his containment cell opened, and SCP-9743 enters inside.
SCP-9743 encounters SCP-343, who is reading while sitting. At first SCP-343 doesn't notice SCP-9743, but as SCP-9743 moves closer, SCP-343 notices him, and lowers the book for a moment.
SCP-343: "Ah, good evening."
SCP-9743: "Hi."
SCP-9743 keeps moving closer, despite is non talkative, seems to prefer be in close distance.
SCP-343: "I... Admit, it's a bit unusual that someone would come and visit me at such a late hour."
SCP-9743, not knowing what hour was, just shrugged his shoulders.
SCP-9743: "I was sent here, honestly."
SCP-343: "Ohoh? By who?"
SCP-9743: "A scientist and guards."
SCP-343: "Ah, well. Why, pray tell, would a scientist and some guards bring you all the way here? As endearing as your company is."
SCP-9743: "... What?... Uhm... Sorry, I'm not used by your way of talking."
SCP-343: "Ah, that's alright. Most mortals aren't. Especially ones who are so fresh-faced as you."
SCP-9743: "... Okay? I'm not a mortal, but... Alright?"
SCP-343: "You... You're not a mortal? Are you a spirit of some kind, perhaps?"
SCP-9743: "I prefer the term, ghost possessing dead corpse, dead plus dead equals alive."
SCP-343: "Hmm. How interesting... So... You were sent here merely because the guards and researches were curious of the extent of your... Immortality?"
SCP-9743: "I don't think they even knew, but by how much they love observing me... They may know now I am... But... I died today, and revived, so... Yeah, I think they know."
SCP-343: "Oh, really? They observed your death and subsequent resurrection? I'm... Curious, if you'll forgive me for asking... How did you die?"
SCP-9743: "They sent me to interact with a megalomaniac. We both were immortals and he kept reviving, until he got me, but then everything went pure chaos. I remember almost destroying the entire room where that megalo was."
SCP-343: "How interesting... I... can imagine I would have found that something interesting to behold as well. If you don't mind my saying so, may I ask... You died, but are still here. What are you now? Some kind of... Undead creature?"
SCP-9743: "Yeah. Alive in death. But since always, honestly."
SCP-343: "So, you were never truly alive to begin with? How strange... How intriguing. What were you, before you possessed your... Corpse, as you put it?"
SCP-9743: "All I remember well is... The endless darkness of the void, before be trapped inside this corpse body."
SCP-343: "The-... The endless darkness of... The void? Are you... Are you a Void Being?"
SCP-9743: "Uhm... No?... For what I remember, is the grip of death warming me in there."
SCP-343: "Well... If that's the case... How interesting. I do so love to meet interesting specimens like you. It's such a... Rare occurrence down here."
SCP-9743: "I guess... It's my first day in here, and... Already got a terrible already, honestly."
SCP-343: "Terrible already? Why, what's happened? Have they already put you in anything... Unpleasant?"
SCP-9743: "If you knew... First, yesterday in the late of evening almost night, someone with orange clothes, a total lost of time. Then back again in the very early in the morning to insult me. A moment later, to the room I was, two strange cyclops entered and started acting like pets, as if were cats and... I don't know how to describe it. Then a strange blob or slime that when I tried to hug it, it made me... I felt my chest explode on everything, and couldn't control myself or this body. Then, was a half cat, and I love cats, and that... See it just broke me. Then... They sent me to a strange doctor, but that part was good because I got operated and assisted to give knowledge for better medical treatment. Then the worse... They sent me to fight a reptile of huge size that only wanted to kill and had huge amount of Love. Then, the megalomaniac warrior that revived each time he dies. Oh, I almost forgot about a woman drawing, but that was... Very awkward. And for last, a manipulative little girl with reality control ability as she said."
SCP-343: "... I see." His expression was of anger, and yet how very, very angry he was, his voice remained surprisingly calm. "And... You were the test subject for all of these... "experiments", I presume?"
SCP-9743: "... I guess?... Yeah, pretty much. From all of them, I only liked the first two, the pets from my view. The half cat, but... Couldn't put myself together to look at the cat for much without suffering by how it looked like. And the medic."
SCP-343: "I see. My apologies. I do not... Condone this testing of "specimens". Especially not ones quite so interesting as yourself."
SCP-9743: "Eh?... Condone?"
SCP-343: Chuckles "Forgive me, I shouldn't have used such a... Unusual word. What I mean is, I do not accept them testing you. It seems most... Excessive, especially to be putting you through so much in your first day."
SCP-9743: "I guess?... I mean... Does yesterday in the late evening count as first day? Or from the morning of today?"
SCP-343: "Well... I suppose that's up for debate, but regardless, the point stands. They... They should probably have eased you into these tests, and not just... Thrown you into the fire like that. You understand what I'm saying?"
SCP-9743: "Yeah... But I could leave whenever I want. I just open a portal, and leave, if I wanted to."
SCP-343: "Wait, wait, wait, hold on... You can open portals? You can leave this facility whenever you please?"
SCP-9743: "Yeah, as for what I think, they want to study me, but as I didn't show almost anything about myself, I can do anything I want, and still surprise all of them. All depends of what I want."
SCP-343: "Well I... You... That certainly is surprising... May I ask, how exactly your... Portals work? How do you create them?"
SCP-9743: "Normally, is mental. I just raise one of my hands, and the portal opens to my personal void, as how I call it."
SCP-343: "So... They're completely natural to you, I see. No incantations, no tools, just pure mental energy. That's... That's truly fascinating. And this... "Void" of yours, where does that lead?"
SCP-9743: "Just the void. Endless and empty, where I am a complete God inside. Able to create and erase anything I want. I have my house, a laboratory, a gym, a sauna, and... A lot of human souls storaged in the laboratory."
SCP-343: "You... You have souls? And you keep them locked in your Void? Why, why wouldn't you release them?"
SCP-9743: "Well... I only do when is necessary. Is annoying to have them yelling at your head after the beginning of absorbing them. And also, the risk of them being able to be against me and do any trick that could lead to a fatal ending."
SCP-343: "No... No, no no no, no, there's no way I'm letting you keep on soul-stealing like that. Those souls need to be re- leased."
SCP-9743: "... They deserved honestly. I did that world a favor, cleaning up and making it better."
SCP-343: "What- What do you mean, clearing up and making it better?"
SCP-9743: "I mean that I cleaned that world up of humans. That world now is more relax and peaceful, and also, free of manipulation and... Oh wait, I think I destroyed it... Maybe not? I need to remember if that world still exists, or in other hand I may have destroyed it..."
SCP-343: "You... You killed everyone on the world? But... But why? Why'd you do that? What reason would you have to just... Wipe out the entire human race like that?"
SCP-9743: "Hum? Oh... They very deserved it. For how they think, act, deserve, want, and more. For me, they were demons, and that was my hell."
SCP-343: "You... That's... That's genocide. Mass genocide, if you killed off an entire planet of humans. And you're saying they... They did not deserve to all be killed like that. Why... Why would you ever think that's the appropriate course of action?"
SCP-9743: "If you knew... But well, is irreversible either way, no need to worry. One less world suffering from those demons of humans, only... Uhm... An unknow amount of more worlds with the same issue..."
SCP-343: "You... You've done this before?"
SCP-9743: "Done what exactly?"
SCP-343: "Have you... Have you killed all the humans in *more than one world"?* Have you... Have you committed genocide *more than once*?"
SCP-9743: "Uhm... No?... No, I did it multiple time in the same one. Just once after another by Resetting the world and bringing it back in time from the beginning, until I decided it was enough, and just collected their souls and saved them."
SCP-343: "You... You've killed the *entire* human race multiple times? Just... Repeatedly, again and again? And then you *absorbed* their souls, trapped them forever in your Void, like some sort of twisted trophy collection?"
SCP-9743: "No trophy, but as tool I use for research and improvement."
SCP-343: "You can't use people's souls as tools for research!"
SCP-9743: ""And they can? Buddy, existence has not said rules of how everything works with humans."
SCP-343: "That's... That's completely irrelevant! Just because someone might use souls as tools... Just because someone would use souls as tools, that does not, in any way, shape, or form, mean that it's morally correct to do it yourself!"
SCP-9743: "Yeah, but I don't care. It was needed to be done, and I did what it was necessary. There's no denying what I did, but yet, it had to be done."
SCP-343: "You... You are saying the systematic elimination of the human race... On one planet, and then multiple, was *necessary*? How can you think that was necessary? It's... It's abhorrent!"
Both get surprised as the containment chamber's door opens.
SCP-9743: "Well, seems as either they want this to finish, or not escalate. I don't know who you are, but... Bye."
SCP-9743 decides to leave, as for him, seems as the interaction was over, but SCP-343 had other things in mind, and didn't want the interaction to end.
SCP-343: "No, hold on, wait, where are you even going? You... You can't just leave the room, like this!"
SCP-9743: "Why not? What's the matter?"
SCP-343 gets in front of SCP-9743, putting one of it's hands in an attempt to unable SCP-9743 from leaving.
SCP-343: "Because... Because, this conversation is obviously not finished. You've... You've just admitted to committing genocide more than once!"
SCP-9743: "And? What with that?"
SCP-343: "What... What do you mean, what with that? You've... You've killed off an entire species! You've taken multiple species' worth of souls and are now keeping them locked in your Void! That... That's...Terrible!"
SCP-9743: "Buddy, you know nothing. I still don't know who you are, and less interested in who you think you are. But better don't know, nor try to make me feel bad about it."
SCP-343: "I... I know what you've done, and that's more than enough. And you... You deserve to feel bad about this. This is... This downright evil!"
SCP-9743: "Want to hear something evil? Well, if you want to make me feel bad, I enjoyed it, I did it because I wanted my revenge on them, and I also because I felt like it. I did it it for power, I did it for self release, and I did it for LOVE. For you I'm the evil, but for me, I did what it had to be done, and became like them."
SCP-343: "You... You... You did it...For revenge? You... You did it for LOVE? What are you even talking about?"
SCP-9743: "Exactly, you don't know. Now, old man, I told you how my day was, and I'm still not wanting to deal with anyone, so unless you're planning to stop me by a fight of some sort, get out of my way, unless you want to become some free Exp and a free soul."
SCP-343: "I'm not moving. And if you think I'm just going to let you leave after hearing what you've done, you're sorely mistaken."
SCP-9743: "... So... Well... At least, tell me who you are."
SCP-343: "...What? Why... Why does that matter?"
SCP-9743: "I like to rub others in their face as much as I can with all I can and got."
SCP-343:"... If it's going to make you stay in here, instead of leaving and... Doing something foolish, then, I suppose I'll tell you... I am, in a sense, your creator, I am the original God."
SCP-9743 looks for an instant with his neutral dead expression, but then, giggles for a moment, and then giggles even more, and laughs.
SCP-9743: "You? My creator? The original god?"
SCP-343 frowns deeply, as the laugh and reaction of SCP-9743 offends him.
SCP-343: "Laugh all you want to. Whether you believe it or not, it is... It is the truth. I'm telling you, I..."
SCP-9743: "Buddy, I know who my creator is, and you're not that person. Also, if there is a God, then answer me this question... Why allow humans to commit so much death by their selfishness and arrogance? Why allow humans who are evil to get good stuff, while who are good receive bad stuff? Why allow humans to kill whoever they want or as much as they want?... If you were really who you say you are, nothing of that would happen. God doesn't exist, and is not by believe or not, is a fact of existence."
SCP-343: "... Life is about the balance of good and evil, and the balance of creation and destruction. Good and evil, life and death, creation and destruction - all are necessary to keep this universe spinning, and are all... Sadly... All used incorrectly by those you call 'humans'. Humanity... Is not perfect. Far, far, from it. And that often leads to the evils of destruction and death being... Overused by men."
SCP-9743: "Oh, suuuure. Why not let sir mister god over here give a good joke of why is not helping to make sure life is really fair and balanced. I'm sure is just only something of a moment, and if repeats, oh well, is because other did the same mistake to learn. Of course of course."
SCP-9743 starts clapping sarcastically and slowly, and SCP-343's expression remains stoic, and stern.
SCP-343: "Humanity... Has been trying, and failing, to strike that balance for... Thousands upon thousands of years. Centuries, upon millenia upon centuries of struggle, and yet, they... Yet, they have yet to get it right."
SCP-9743: "... You're pathetic. You think you are god, but you're just an old man, inside a room where only reads. I have a better joke for you, and I had it all this time in front of me.. Let's be serious, you're no God of any sort of way. Wanna hear who is? Well, if you say you are the original one, I am the improvement then. How about this? I am the True God of Hyper Death, it's kill or be killed, and everyone will die in my hands!"
SCP-343 seems somewhat amused by what SCP-9743 said, as SCP-343's smiles faintly for a moment.
SCP-343: "You...? The true god of Hyperdeath?" He chuckles once or twice, "You say that with a straight face?"
SCP-9743: "Oh, yes, at least sounds much better than what you proclaimed."
SCP-343 laughs a little louder, now genuinely having fun with the entire exchange and talk, while SCP-9743 remained with a complete dead stare and serious expression towards SCP-343.
SCP-343: "Ah, I see... And yet... Where's your proof of this 'god-hood', hmm? You seem so... Sure that you're a god."
SCP-9743: "Well... How about this proof?"
After SCP-9743 asked, he raised his right leg, stepping hard in the ground. After a second, the ground started to tremble and shake very agitatedly, before all the ground and floor inside the containment cell was shattered and pierced by big sized bones. The bones also pierced through the walls and ceiling.
This caught SCP-343 completely off guard, who observed as the ceiling and walls' integrity are shattered and the bones erupted out from them like spears. SCP-343 lets out a surprised grunt as the bones pierce from every surface.
SCP-343: "... Very impressive. Very... Very impressive, and destructive."
SCP-9743: "And I'm not done yet."
SCP-9743 then raises slowly his head to look at SCP-343, but SCP-9743's expression was wide eyes and a wide sadistic smile. This smile and stare made SCP-343 take a step backwards, seemingly worried.
SCP-343: "And... And what exactly...will you do next, then?"
SCP-9743 doesn't talk, but raises his right hand towards SCP-343, making him have a blue aura, and then, forced SCP-343 to crash against the walls, bones, ceiling, and ground.
Dr. Alexander Grimm observed SCP-9743's behavior, now as a mix of his usual way of be, mixed along the post-revival state when SCP-9743 interacted with SCP-076-2.
SCP-343 is forced up against the corner of the room, groaning in pain and having taken quite the harsh blow, but tries to compose himself, and stand up straight.
But while SCP-343 tries to stand up straight, SCP-9743 starts fading, being barely visible as if is teleporting while walking slowly towards SCP-343.
But for SCP-343's surprise, SCP-9743 teleports in front of him, and slashes him, what pushes him against the wall. SCP-343 grunts in pain, while also, gasps for breath.
SCP-9743: "Do you understand it now?... It's kill... Or be killed... All what matters... It's DETERMINATION."
SCP-343's breath is shaky and laboured, as he seems winded from the shock. After a moment, SCP-343's breath starts to steady, as he manages to talk.
SCP-343: "You... I..."
In a sudden, SCP-9743 dashes in front of SCP-343, for slashing him again, but doesn't slash him.
SCP-9743: "Thanks for the free Exp and soul, bozo."
SCP-343: "I wouldn't be so quick to assume that," He responds, his voice still a bit shaky, "I'm not quite as mortal as, say, a human, or any other mortal creature... It will take more than that to get me."
SCP-343 takes a step back, still winded and slowly recovery, but SCP-9743 was just toying around with him.
SCP-9743: "Let me show you then."
SCP-9743 slashes again SCP-343, who doesn't receive real damage, but just pain. But then, SCP-9743 raises up his right hand, and his eyes and mouth cover in black darkness, while from him is heard the same deep distorted sound after he revived in his interaction with SCP-076-2. From SCP-9743's mouth and eyes dropped black liquid once again, and then, SCP-9743 moved down his hand, slashing SCP-343.
For SCP-343's surprise, this slash pierces through him, and leaves him with a slash on his torso, that goes from the top right of his chest, to the bottom left of his torso. He slowly looks down, and notices he is bleeding.
After a moment, he slowly raises his head to look at SCP-9743, who is giving his back at SCP-343, while also has his head half moved to the right to look at SCP-343. SCP-9743's expression remains the sadistic wide smile.
And then, SCP-343 sees something the Research Teams of SCP-9743 and SCP-343 can't see. Whatever SCP-343 saw, terrified him deeply.
SCP-343: "N-no, no, no... No, not this, not this again, no, no, no..."
SCP-343 stammers, his voice shaky and filled with fear, while backs up into a corner, cowering away from SCP-9743. SCP-9743 asks if SCP-343 is scared, and SCP-343 recognizes he is scared and terrified.
After a moment of little talk and SCP-9743 presuming his superiority and doing what is necessary while SCP-343 doesn't, SCP-343 calls SCP-9743 a demon.
SCP-9743: "Oh, good view. Let me introduce myself. I'm Raziel, the angel of monsterkind, and the demon of humankind. The angel of justice and kindness, and the demon of death and determination. And you... You're just another corpse in my way."
SCP-343's face gets even more pale, if is even possible. SCP-343 shakes even more, and barely finds the words to speak.
SCP-343: "A... A... D-demon of... Humankind...? N-no, no that's... That's not even p-possible, that..."
SCP-9743: "Oh, is the supposed original God doubting of what can be possible or not?"
SCP-343: "Y-yes... I... I d-don't... Can't..."
SCP-343 can't even talk or speak properly, but is also interrupted by SCP-9743, who wants to end this now.
SCP-9743: "Just die already."
SCP-343: "N-no, no, no, no, n-not... Not like this... P-please..."
SCP-9743: "Oh, what's this? The supposed original God, begging me for mercy? Hilarious."
SCP-343: "Y-yes, y-yes, please, please please, please, have m-mercy, I beg, I beg y-you, please..."
SCP-9743: ""All existence has a rule... In this world, it's kill or be killed..."
SCP-343 keeps nodding, repeatedly, trying to agree with SCP-9743, and trying to show him that he understands, that he will do whatever SCP-9743 wants, and that he doesn't want to fight.
SCP-343: "Y-yes, yes, yes, I understand, I d-do, I w-won't..." He tries to swallow the lump in his throat. "F-fight you... P-please..."
After a moment, SCP-9743 left SCP-343's containment chamber, and was leaded back to his containment cell. SCP-343 was slain without mercy or any compassion, and after SCP-9743 got back to his containment cell, Dr. Sophia Adler did an interview to SCP-9743 about his interaction with SCP-343.
Dr. Sophia Adler: "What do you think of SCP-343, God?"
SCP-9743: "Just another idiot with power but no brain cells."
Dr. Sophia Adler: "After killing God, what did you do?"
SCP-9743: "I storaged his soul with the rest in my void."
Dr. Sophia Adler: "That heart you got out from SCP-343... What was it?"
SCP-9743: "That was his soul. I used my magic to can grab it that way."
Dr. Sophia Adler: "Are you a threat to the foundation?"
SCP-9743: "... Beauty... If I wanted to kill any of you, or destroy this place I still have no idea... I would have done it already."
Dr. Sophia Adler: "Who are you? As not for you alone, but for who else is also inside of you."
SCP-9743: "Well, we... I don't really think is something relevant."
Dr. Sophia Adler: "What do you want from the Foundation?"
SCP-9743: "Entertainment. I don't want to be in some sort of empty room. I did never sleep in the ground except for yesterday, that was the first and last time I sleep in the ground."
Dr. Sophia Adler: "Would you cooperate with the Foundation?"
SCP-9743: "If you're asking for some sort of deal... Better tell me what you offer."
Evaluation Report by Dr. Alexander Grimm on SCP-9743's Interaction with SCP-343
Subject: SCP-9743
Evaluator: Dr. Alexander Grimm
Date: 03/16/2022
Experiment Overview:
This experiment was designed to evaluate SCP-9743's psychological and behavioral responses during an interaction with SCP-343 ("God"), an entity claiming to be the creator of all existence. The encounter provided an opportunity to study SCP-9743's worldview, its reactions to claims of divine authority, and its capacity for hostility or cooperation in the face of a seemingly superior being.
Initial Interaction:
SCP-9743's Approach:
SCP-9743 entered SCP-343's containment chamber with apparent calmness, though its curiosity was evident in how it moved closer to SCP-343 despite its typical reserved nature. SCP-9743 engaged SCP-343 in conversation but displayed immediate skepticism and disinterest in SCP-343's claims of divinity.
SCP-343's Reaction:
SCP-343 initially welcomed SCP-9743 warmly, attempting to establish a cordial dialogue. However, SCP-9743's detached responses and its disdain for the Foundation's experiments led to a growing tension. SCP-343's demeanor shifted as the conversation delved deeper into SCP-9743's past actions and philosophy.
Key Points of Discussion:
SCP-9743's Identity:
SCP-9743 identified itself as a ghost inhabiting a corpse and acknowledged its anomalous immortality, describing itself as "alive in death." When SCP-343 probed further, SCP-9743 revealed that it originated from an endless void where it existed before possessing its current form.
SCP-343's suggestion that SCP-9743 might be a "Void Being" was dismissed by SCP-9743, which instead described the void as a realm of death and emptiness. This divergence highlights SCP-9743's pragmatic and grounded perception of its own nature, rejecting metaphysical labels.
SCP-9743's Past Actions:
SCP-9743 openly admitted to committing mass genocide in its original world, repeatedly exterminating humanity through resets and eventually storing their souls in its personal void. SCP-9743 justified these actions as necessary to cleanse its world of humanity's perceived evil and flaws.
SCP-343 expressed moral outrage, labeling SCP-9743's actions as abhorrent and questioning its ethical framework. SCP-9743 dismissed these criticisms, asserting that its actions were required for balance and order in its world, even if deemed evil by others.
Philosophical Conflict:
SCP-9743 challenged SCP-343's claim of being the original God, citing the inherent flaws of human existence as evidence against divine intervention. SCP-9743 accused SCP-343 of failing to prevent humanity's corruption and suffering, further solidifying its disdain for SCP-343's authority.
SCP-343's attempts to defend its philosophy of balance and free will were met with sarcasm and mockery from SCP-9743, culminating in SCP-9743 declaring itself the "True God of Hyper Death," emphasizing a worldview of "kill or be killed."
Escalation and Confrontation:
SCP-9743's Demonstration of Power:
SCP-9743 physically demonstrated its abilities by summoning large bone constructs that shattered the containment chamber's walls, ceiling, and floor. SCP-343, taken by surprise, expressed genuine concern for the destructive potential of SCP-9743's anomaly.
Hostility Toward SCP-343:
SCP-9743 escalated the interaction by physically assaulting SCP-343, using its anomalous abilities to immobilize and repeatedly strike SCP-343. The assault culminated in SCP-9743 delivering a slash that bypassed SCP-343's supposed immortality, leaving a visible wound on SCP-343's torso.
SCP-343, visibly shaken and terrified, cowered in the corner of the chamber. SCP-9743's sadistic behavior and predatory demeanor during this phase mirrored its post-revival state observed during its interaction with SCP-076-2, suggesting a potential trigger linked to physical or philosophical challenges.
SCP-343's Fear and Defeat:
SCP-343 exhibited uncharacteristic fear, repeatedly begging SCP-9743 for mercy. SCP-9743 taunted SCP-343, ridiculing its claims of divinity and superiority, and ultimately declared itself both the "angel of monsterkind" and the "demon of humankind."
SCP-343's visible terror and SCP-9743's sadistic remarks emphasized the psychological dominance SCP-9743 established during the interaction. SCP-343's admission of fear and submission marked a complete breakdown of its composure.
Final Escalation and Conclusion:
SCP-343's Final Attempt at Mercy:
As the interaction neared its conclusion, SCP-343 was visibly broken, both physically and psychologically. Reduced to pleading for mercy, SCP-343 repeatedly emphasized its submission to SCP-9743's dominance.
SCP-9743's demeanor at this stage was cold and detached, its predatory behavior contrasting sharply with SCP-343's desperation. SCP-9743 declared its philosophy—"In this world, it's kill or be killed"—as an unchangeable rule of existence, dismissing SCP-343's pleas as irrelevant.
SCP-343's Death:
In a final act of defiance, SCP-9743 delivered a finishing blow to SCP-343, extracting its soul in the process. The exact mechanics of SCP-9743's soul manipulation remain unclear, but the Research Team observed a faint crimson glow emanating from SCP-343's body before it disintegrated entirely. SCP-9743 was seen clutching a glowing red heart-like object, which it later confirmed to be SCP-343's soul.
SCP-343's Terrified Recognition:
The Research Team noted a pivotal moment during the interaction when SCP-343 appeared to recognize something about SCP-9743 beyond its physical form. SCP-343's terrified muttering—"Not this, not again"—suggests an unrecorded or forgotten history involving SCP-9743 or a being similar in nature.
The specifics of what SCP-343 saw remain unknown, as this aspect of the interaction was veiled in secrecy. SCP-9743's cryptic remarks and its darkened, distorted state only deepened the mystery.
Key Observations:
SCP-9743's Philosophical Certainty:
SCP-9743's unwavering adherence to its worldview of "kill or be killed" informed its actions throughout the interaction. It demonstrated an unrelenting belief in the necessity of strength, self-determination, and retribution, viewing weakness as inherently deserving of elimination.
SCP-9743's Sadistic Control:
SCP-9743's sadistic behavior, including toying with SCP-343 before delivering the fatal blow, underscored its capacity for psychological manipulation and cruelty. This behavior aligns with the predatory tendencies observed during its post-revival state in the interaction with SCP-076-2.
Final Disposition:
During the follow-up interview, SCP-9743 expressed no remorse for slaying SCP-343. Instead, it dismissed SCP-343 as an "idiot with power but no brain cells," emphasizing its disdain for entities it perceives as weak or hypocritical. SCP-9743 confirmed storing SCP-343's soul in its personal void alongside others, maintaining its philosophy of using souls as tools for research and power.
SCP-343's Fate:
SCP-343's complete disintegration, along with the absence of its presence in the facility, confirms its termination. However, the exact nature of SCP-343's "death" remains ambiguous, as its anomalous properties may allow for potential reemergence under unknown conditions.
Key Insights:
Soul Extraction:
SCP-9743's ability to extract SCP-343's soul suggests a profound level of mastery over metaphysical manipulation. The process bypassed SCP-343's apparent immortality, raising questions about the limitations of SCP-9743's abilities and the vulnerabilities of entities classified as "divine."
The Hidden Element:
SCP-343's terrified recognition of SCP-9743 adds an enigmatic layer to the interaction. The implications of SCP-343's fear—whether tied to SCP-9743's identity, actions, or anomalous nature—suggest that SCP-9743's origins and capabilities extend far beyond what has been documented.
Containment Challenges:
SCP-9743's repeated demonstrations of overwhelming power, from the destruction of containment infrastructure to the elimination of SCP-343, highlight the inadequacy of current containment measures. Its ability to physically dominate and psychologically break SCP-343 underscores the threat it poses to the Foundation.
Recommendations:
Enhanced Containment and Surveillance:
SCP-9743 requires upgraded containment protocols to address the escalating scope of its abilities. Anti-teleportation fields, metaphysical dampeners, and structural reinforcements should be prioritized.
Focused Investigation:
Conduct a comprehensive investigation into SCP-343's final recognition of SCP-9743. This may involve reexamining SCP-343's documented history and correlating it with SCP-9743's known origins and past actions.
Controlled Anomalous Testing:
Further testing with anomalies that exhibit metaphysical or divine properties should be conducted to understand the full extent of SCP-9743's powers, particularly its ability to extract and manipulate souls.
Ethical Oversight:
SCP-9743's growing disregard for human and anomalous life, coupled with its philosophy of "kill or be killed," poses significant ethical concerns. Continued study must balance containment with minimizing unnecessary loss of life during experiments.
Conclusion:
SCP-9743's confrontation with SCP-343 culminated in the definitive termination of the latter, solidifying SCP-9743's dominance as an entity of immense power and moral ambiguity. The encounter shed light on SCP-9743's deep-seated philosophy, its sadistic tendencies, and its potential connections to larger, hidden truths about existence. SCP-9743 remains a highly volatile anomaly that demands continued scrutiny and cautious management.
