Chapter 6: stocking up on supplies

Mom, can you make a list of daily necessities, food, grains, vegetables, and livestock to buy?" Elise asked.

"I'll take care of that, sweetie," Anita replied, nodding.

"Big sister, can you buy clothes for all seasons, like winter wear and sportswear that enables one to be able to fight?" Elise continued.

Madison smiled, already mentally preparing her shopping list. "Got it, little sis."

"Dad, can you buy solar generators, guns, knives, and survival equipment?" Elise asked.

Derick's expression turned serious, his mind focused on security. "I'll take care of that."

"While I'll buy medical equipment and drugs," Elise added. "We need to be able to treat injuries and illnesses."

The family nodded in unison, a sense of determination and purpose filling the room. They knew they had a long and challenging journey ahead of them, but they were ready to face it together.

"Dad, please don't forget to rent a warehouse in a rural area to avoid suspicion," Elise reminded him.

"Ok, dear, I will," Derick replied, making a mental note. "Then, at night, you're going to put them into your space."

After the meeting, the family members embarked on a massive shopping spree, visiting various companies, farms, and factories to purchase supplies in bulk.

Derick headed to a leading solar panel manufacturer and bought a massive shipment of solar generators, as well as a large quantity of guns, knives, and other survival equipment, totaling $40 million.

Anita, meanwhile, went to a large grain factory and bought a massive shipment of rice, wheat, and other grains, as well as a huge quantity of livestock, including cattle, chickens, and pigs, and a large supply of seeds and fertilizers, totaling $70 million.

Madison visited a popular clothing factory and bought a massive shipment of seasonal clothes, sportswear, and other essential clothing items, as well as a large quantity of sturdy boots, shoes, and other footwear, totaling $35 million.

Elise, meanwhile, went to a medical supply company and bought a massive shipment of medical equipment, including hospital beds, surgical tools, and other essential medical supplies. She also visited a pharmaceutical factory and purchased a large quantity of medicines, vaccines, and other essential medical drugs, totaling a staggering $150 million.

As the day drew to a close, the family members reconvened, exhausted but satisfied with their purchases. They knew they had acquired a massive stockpile of essential supplies, which would help them survive the impending apocalypse.

As the sun began to set, the family gathered once again, this time to address Elise's concerns about the previous day's purchases.

"I know we spent a lot of money today, but I've been thinking, and there are still some essential items we're missing," Elise said, her brow furrowed in concern.

Anita nodded understandingly. "What do you need me to get, sweetie?"

"Mom, can you buy more of each product - dairy products, skincare, and daily necessities?" Elise asked.

Anita nodded, making a mental note. "I'll take care of that."

Derick spoke up next. "What about me, Elise?"

"Dad, can you buy building materials and cars that are bulletproof?" Elise requested.

Derick nodded, his expression serious. "Consider it done."

Madison looked at Elise expectantly. "What about me, little sis?"

"Madison, can you buy more mountaineer bags and ships?" Elise asked.

Madison nodded, a smile on her face. "Got it."

Elise turned to her family, her eyes shining with determination. "And I'll buy fishes and already prepared food from restaurants. We need to be prepared for any situation."

The family nodded in agreement, each member ready to tackle their assigned tasks. As they dispersed to make their purchases, the sense of urgency and purpose hung in the air, a reminder that time was running out before the apocalypse struck.
