Chapter 17: chapter 17
Kael stood at the entrance to the second floor, his body aching from the previous fight. The first floor had pushed him to his limit, but now, as the gates to the second floor slowly creaked open, Kael knew things would get tougher. The last battle had left him bruised and battered, but his heart burned with determination. He was stronger now a little more than before.
With his sword in hand and his mind focused, he stepped forward, eyes scanning the desolate wasteland that stretched out before him. The air was thick with tension, the atmosphere heavy. His senses heightened as his body became accustomed to the changes in the environment.
Suddenly, there was movement in the distance. Something huge was approaching.
A C-rank monster.
The ground trembled with every step of the approaching beast. This was a huge step up from the first floor. He knew that facing a C-rank monster meant fighting something far more dangerous than what he had faced so far.
From the dust emerged a towering, reptilian creature, its body covered in thick, armored scales that gleamed like obsidian. Its eyes burned red, and its tail swished from side to side, knocking over rocks with every motion. The beast had massive claws on its forelegs and a jagged, razor-sharp spiked tail.
Kael instinctively raised his sword, his pulse quickening as the creature slowly closed the distance. There was no way around this he had to fight. This wasn't the time to be hesitant.
The beast roared and charged at him. Its claws slashed through the air, aiming for Kael's torso. Without hesitation, Kael sidestepped, feeling the rush of wind as the claws missed by mere inches.
I can't let it land a hit.
Kael experienced adrenaline rush, his body moving automatically. He slashed out, aiming for the creature's exposed side. His sword met resistance, and he felt a shock ripple through his arm as the blade scraped against the monster's thick scales. The creature barely flinched.
Damn. Its scales are too tough.
The beast retaliated, swinging its massive claws in an arc. Kael barely had time to raise his sword in defense, the force of the blow sending him sliding backward. His footing nearly faltered, but Kael gritted his teeth and forced himself to stay steady.
The beast was relentless, its strength and speed pushing Kael to his limits. Each strike from the monster was like a heavy battering ram, testing Kael's endurance. But Kael refused to back down. He knew was getting tired with every blow, every wound he sustained. He had to keep fighting.
He darted in, his sword aiming for the monster's throat. The beast countered with a powerful swipe, knocking Kael to the ground. Pain shot through Kael's chest as he felt his ribs strain under the impact. He pushed himself up, though, and immediately charged again, his sword raised high.
This time, Kael used his agility to his advantage. He dodged to the side, letting the monster's claws scrape through empty air, and in one swift motion, he leapt onto the creature's back. Without hesitation, he buried his sword into the soft spot beneath the creature's scales, piercing deep into its flesh.
The monster howled in agony and thrashed, but Kael held firm, his sword embedded deep. With a final, desperate twist of his blade, he severed the monster's spinal cord, and the beast fell to the ground with a thunderous crash.
Breathing heavily, Kael stepped back, his body trembling with exhaustion. The fight had taken everything he had, but he had won.

Kael wiped the sweat from his brow, his chest heaving with deep breaths. He had pushed himself beyond his limits, but it felt good. The pain in his body was almost comforting a reminder of the strength he had gained. His wounds, though deep, began healing quickly, and the sense of accomplishment filled him with pride.
As he stood in the aftermath of his battle, Kael's sword pulsed with newfound energy. His mastery of the blade had increased, and he felt a new sense of control. He knew this was only the beginning.
With the monster slain, Kael walked forward. The battle had tested him, but he had survived. He was ready for whatever came next. The second floor had been just a taste there were many more challenges ahead, and he would face them head-on
Kael's body trembled from exhaustion as he ascended to the 10th floor of the tower. The air felt heavier here, thick with oppressive energy that made his skin crawl. He gripped his sword tightly,
it's already a month since i entered this tower. His body was battered and bruised from the previous floors, but his resolve remained unbroken. He knew the battle ahead would test him in ways he had never imagined.
As Kael entered the floor, the surroundings shifted into a dark, eerie landscape dead trees twisted in unnatural shapes, shadows lurking at the corners of his vision. The ground beneath his feet was cracked and barren, as if the life had been drained from it long ago. He could sense the presence of something no, someone nearby, radiating an overwhelming evil aura.
His eyes narrowed. He had encountered many creatures already, but this felt different. ''death death'', from the depths of the abyss. His instincts screamed that this would be the fight of his life.
Suddenly, the ground trembled beneath him, and a huge figure emerged from the shadows. The A-rank Demon stood at least ten feet tall, its skin a deep, sickly red, veins pulsating with dark energy. It had horns curving back from its skull, glowing eyes filled with malice, and a massive, clawed weapon in its hand.
It grinned, a toothy, malicious grin. "So, this is the human who dared to climb so high. How foolish." Its voice was like a growl, reverberating with power. "You'll make a fine meal for me."
Kael's grip on his sword tightened. His mana surged within him, swirling and churning as he prepared for battle. The demon laughed as it raised its clawed hand, the air distorting with the sheer force of its energy.
"Let's see if you can survive this," the demon sneered, launching itself at Kael.
Kael barely had time to react as the demon barreled toward him with terrifying speed, its claws outstretched. Kael sidestepped just in time, his agility kicking in as he barely avoided the demon's swipe. The ground cracked where the demon's claws hit, sending debris flying. Kael's heart pounded in his chest, adrenaline flooding his veins. This was no ordinary monster. Every movement it made was a display of raw power.
He took a deep breath and steadied himself. He could feel his weapon mastery sharpening with each swing of the sword, his technique becoming more fluid and controlled. He was no longer the weak, inexperienced hunter from the lower floors. He had climbed, fought, and survived and now he was ready.
The demon swung again, but Kael was faster this time. He dodged to the left, then spun, slashing his sword across the demon's exposed side. The sword cut through the demon's flesh with a sickening sound, but the wound didn't seem to faze it. It roared in fury, swinging its clawed hand down at Kael.
Kael's endurance held strong as he blocked with his sword, the impact sending a shockwave through his body. His muscles screamed in protest, but he didn't falter. He couldn't afford to.
The demon snarled, shaking off the blow and lunging toward Kael again. Kael's eyes gleamed with determination. He wasn't going to lose here not after everything he had fought for.
He gathered his mana and focused, channeling it into his sword. The sword glowed faintly, responding to the surge of energy. With a single motion, Kael leaped forward, his sword aimed straight for the demon's heart. The demon attempted to dodge, but Kael's agility allowed him to change direction midair, slamming the blade deep into the demon's chest.
As the battle raged on, Kael could feel the mana flowing freely within him, pushing him further than he had ever been before. His regeneration kicked in, healing the wounds he had sustained from the demon's brutal attacks. Each strike, each moment of focus, made him stronger.
With every battle, his body was evolving becoming more in tune with his weapon mastery and battle instincts. This was no longer just about survival. This was about claiming victory.
The demon howled in rage, its body convulsing with dark energy as it attempted to tear Kael's sword from its chest. But Kael held firm, his body bracing against the demon's struggles. His strength surged, and with a final, powerful twist, he drove the sword even deeper, striking at the heart of the demon.
The demon's eyes widened in disbelief. "Impossible… You… You are just a human!"
But before it could finish its sentence, Kael twisted the blade, and with a final roar, the demon collapsed to the ground, defeated.
The moment the demon's massive body hit the ground, Kael took a deep breath, collapsing onto the ground . His body was battered, his energy drained, but his spirit was unbroken. This was a hard-fought victory—one that had pushed him to the edge of his limits.
His weapon mastery had grown exponentially during this battle, and his mana had surged, replenishing his energy just in time for him to land the final blow.
