Reincarnation Of The Fallen One

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Future Plans

Ten years since my reincarnation, I've lived a peaceful and eventful life in this world. Many things have happened—most of them good—but today is different.

Veori, who has been part of our family, is leaving to return to her hometown. She stood by the horse cart, holding her bags, ready to depart.

Bowing her head, Veori said, "Thank you for looking after me all these years. I'm very glad to have been part of this wonderful family. I'll never forget your kindness."

Mom, tears brimming in her eyes, replied, "Oh, Veori, we should thank you for taking care of us and the house. You've been such a blessing."

Dad added with a warm smile, "If you ever feel like visiting, our doors are always open."

Veori nodded, her voice soft with emotion. "Yes, sir. I'll try to come back someday. I'm truly grateful."

I stood silently, watching her. I felt sad—so much so that it hurt—but I knew this was her choice, her path. She deserved to live her life as she wanted.

I remembered a night when we talked together under the stars.

"Young Master, one day I'll return to my hometown," she had said. "There's a man waiting for me there."

"A man?" I had asked, surprised.

She blushed lightly and nodded. "Yes, he's kind and caring. He promised to wait for me, no matter how long it takes."

"I see," I had replied. "He must truly care for you."

A shy smile crossed her face. "I think so too."

As Veori climbed into the cart, my little sister, Reu, peeked out from behind my legs. Her long black hair, streaked with a white strand like mine, swayed as she looked up at me with innocent curiosity.

"Big brother, where is Veori going?" she asked.

"She's going home, Reu," I replied gently.

"Home? Isn't this her home?"

I smiled and ruffled her hair. "It is, but she's going back to her real home—the place she came from."

Reu watched the cart start moving. Veori waved at us, her smile bittersweet.

"Young Master Zeyu, Reu, take care of yourselves!" she called out.

We waved back. "You too, Veori!"

As the cart disappeared into the distance, I silently prayed for her happiness.

Inside the cart, Veori clutched her scarf tightly, hiding her face as she whispered through quiet sobs, "Take care, my dear family."

And with that, she was gone.

The next day, life felt emptier without Veori. Mom, now alone with the housework, seemed overwhelmed.

I decided to help. Early in the morning, I swept and cleaned the house. When Mom came outside, she looked at me with surprise.

"Zeyu, why are you cleaning the house?"

"You're alone now, so I thought I'd help," I said, smiling.

She smiled back warmly. "I'm happy you care so much, but you don't have to worry. I can manage."

"But I want to help, Mom!" I insisted.

Her smile deepened, and she placed a gentle hand on my shoulder. "You've grown into such a thoughtful young man. But today is special, so don't worry about chores."

"Special?" I asked, confused.

Dad appeared, holding Reu in his arms. "You're ten years old now, Zeyu. It's time for you to start your training!"

"Training?" I repeated, tilting my head.

"Yes," he said proudly. "At ten, children begin their training in different fields—Hunter, Mage, or Knight."

I furrowed my brows. "What's a Hunter?"

Mom explained, "Hunters are warriors who track and kill beasts—terrifying creatures that devour souls and destroy everything in their path."

Beasts? I thought. I had never sensed anything like that with my Red Eye ability.

"They're dangerous," Dad added. "Even our Red Eyes can't detect their presence."

(I see that's why) I understand

"But our land is protected by Holy Spirit energy," Mom reassured me. "So they can't enter here."

(Holy Spirit energy?) I murmured, my curiosity piqued.

Dad leaned closer. "So, Zeyu, what field will you choose?"

I hesitated, deep in thought. (I love magic, so Mage sounds appealing, but the Hunter's role intrigues me what should i do... Wait can i-)

"Is it possible to train in two fields at once?" I asked.

Dad raised an eyebrow. "It's possible, but it'll be extremely difficult."

"I don't mind!" I said with determination. "I love magic, but I'm fascinated by the Hunter's path too. I want to choose both!"

Mom and Dad exchanged surprised glances.

"Are you sure, dear? It'll be a tough journey, especially for someone so young," Mom said gently.

I grinned. "Well, I'm from the great Lefon family, aren't I? I'll manage!"

Dad burst into laughter. "Well, if that's what you want, then let's give it a shot!"

Reu tugged at my sleeve, her eyes wide. "Big brother is going to be a Hunter?"

"Yes, Reu," I said, kneeling down. "And a Mage too. When you turn ten, you can join me in training."

Her face lit up with excitement. "Yay! I'll join big brother!"

---

After breakfast, Dad said, "It's time to head to Yangu City for your training admissions."

I was so happy and why shouldn't i be it's my first time going out from this village

A cart arrived to take us. As we prepared to leave, Reu waved goodbye with a big smile.

"Big brother, Dad, come back soon!" she shouted.

I waved back. "We will! Take care of Mom!"

As the cart rolled through the village gate, I felt a strange energy wash over me. (This must be the Holy Spirit energy Mom mentioned.)

Hours later, we reached the grand gates of Yangu City. The gates opened slowly, revealing a town fill with life
