Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Blessed
Today, my mother gave birth to my younger sibling—a beautiful baby girl.
I've been blessed with a little sister.
As I stand there, looking at her sleeping peacefully in my mother's arms, my mom smiles at me and says, "Zeyu, congratulations! You're a big brother now."
My eyes light up with joy. Slowly, I reach out and touch her tiny cheeks. They're soft and smooth.
The moment reminds me of my past life, the day my younger sister was born. I was just as happy then as I am now.
My dad breaks the silence, saying, "Her name is Reu Lefon."
He stands up proudly and adds, "I'm going to celebrate my angel's birth with a feast!" He laughs heartily as he heads outside to make preparations.
I turn back to my little sister.
"Reu… my sister."
My mother, still smiling, says, "You'll have to take care of her in the future, you know."
I nod and smile back.
Veori, who had been standing quietly in the corner, steps forward and says, "Congratulations, ma'am. I wish her a bright future."
Then she looks at me, smiling warmly. "Of course, I'll wish for you too, young master."
I smile at her, feeling grateful.
What a happy family I've been blessed with… I don't want these days to end.
---
Later that evening, my dad invited his friends over for a celebration.
When I entered the room, I saw him sitting with four of his closest companions, laughing and enjoying their feast. One of them noticed me and waved.
"Oh hey, Zeyu! Young man!"
I greeted him politely, "Hello, Mr. Clix."
Clix, with his long brown hair and muscular build, is a blacksmith.
The others turned to greet me as well.
There's Mr. Hejo, a bald man who owns one of the largest food shops in town. Then Mr. Yakota, the painter with his weird black hair and beard—his work is better than any artist I've seen, even in my past life.
Finally, there's Mr. Yush, the captain of the town's military. His long grey hair and stern demeanor make him stand out.
"Well, you've grown up, young boy," Mr. Yush said with a smile.
My father laughed, saying, "That's right! He's even started taking an interest in magic! Hahaha!"
Mr. Yush nodded thoughtfully. "Hmm, I see. He might even have the potential to join the military in the future."
I looked at him, surprised by the suggestion.
But my mom, carrying more food into the room, laughed and said, "You're deciding Zeyu's future too fast! Let him be a kid for now."
Then she turned to me.
"Zeyu, can you go check on Reu? Veori and I are busy with the cooking."
I nodded. "Okay, Mom."
---
I headed to the room where Reu was sleeping. As I approached her bed, I saw her resting peacefully.
She's so cute and beautiful—just like our mother.
I gently touched her cheek, and she slowly opened her eyes. Her gaze met mine, and I saw they were red, just like mine and our father's.
"Wow…" I whispered, fascinated.
But suddenly, Reu started crying. I panicked, unsure of what to do.
My mom rushed in and said, "Oh no, she's awake again." She picked her up and rocked her gently to calm her down.
As I watched them, I suddenly sensed something. My father must have felt it too because he turned to look at me.
Three figures dressed in black were trying to break into the basement.
"I'll be right back," my father said, heading toward the basement.
I quickly moved outside to investigate further.
One of them managed to break the basement door. They were armed with knives and spikes.
I focused, my body glowing faintly. As they climbed the stairs, I floated a chair behind them and smashed it into one of their heads. The others turned, startled, just as my father arrived and began fighting them.
With punches and kicks, he forced them to retreat. But as they tried to escape, I floated all three of them into the air and slammed them to the ground.
My dad summoned ropes, tied them up, and spun the rope with all three of them before tossing them far away.
"If you try to come here again, I won't spare you!" he warned, laughing as he returned inside.
I let out a breath of relief, but then I realized someone was behind me.
It was Veori, and she looked shocked.
"Young master… you can use telekinesis?"
"Shhh!" I quickly hushed her.
She covered her mouth with her hands, still in disbelief. "Please don't tell anyone," I pleaded.
She nodded. "O-Okay. But… I can't believe you're using magic at such a young age."
I scratched the back of my head nervously. "Yeah, about that…"
Before I could say more, my mom's voice called out from inside.
"Veori! Zeyu! Where are you two?"
"Coming, Mom!" I replied, motioning for Veori to follow me.
"Please," I whispered one last time, "don't tell Mom or Dad about this."
Veori smiled. "Don't worry, young master. I'll keep my promise."
I let out a sigh of relief as we headed back inside to rejoin the party.
